The Tallac site is a beautifully restroresd jewel set near Lake Tahoe's south shore. Here you can wander through the lovely garden, stop for a picnic lunch, explore the museum or take one of several tours of the estate.
Restoration, maintenance and staffing of this lovely site is done primarily by volunteers. Their love of history and passion for the estate is evident at every turn. Tahoe Heritage Foundation is the local agency responsible for funding and staffing this gem.

We volunteered here for the first time this summer. What an incredible experience at Tallac Historic Site! We scheduled for 5 weeks and stayed for 12! Working to gelp support this timeless site was fun and fulfilling! We are ready for next summer!
