This is my third season coaching strider gliders. The kids all love this program and have so much fun nordic skiing. I think every kid in Tahoe should get to enjoy this experience. The other volunteers I've worked with have all been fabulous too as well as the staff at Tahoe XC.

One of the best things about growing up in Tahoe! The after-school program is a great way to fit in XC instruction for young students. I'm grateful we have such a great program available for our kids here.

I have volunteered with Strider Gliders for years and now have a child moving up the ranks and nearly ready to skate! It has been such a wonderful experience for our community! I teach at the middle school which has a continuously growing Nordic team, many of whom started their experience at TCXC.

The Strider Glider program is the greatest thing going in Tahoe City. Our kids love it!

I have three children in the Strider Glider program. They all love it and are enthusiastic each week to attend. It is a wonderful program. The instructors are so positive and make it fun for the kids. It is reasonably priced and gives kids of all ages the opportunity to learn a life-long skill. My 5 year old daughter loves this program. This was her first year Nordic skiing and her first ski program. It was a great introduction to a sport that she can do for years to come. We'll be back next year. Thank you very much to Tahoe Cross-Country Ski Education ASS-Strider Gliders.

This program is affordable and amazing. It's staffed with great teachers who really motivate the students. it is a wonderful way to get your child out nordic skiing and also get a set of gear for the season.

We love the Strider Gliders program. The people who work at Tahoe Cross Country are the best and make the program so wonderful.

Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association has been making an incredible difference for the children in our community. They have been able to expose a significant percent of the children in out community to cc skiing. We have seen huge increases in the number of school age students participating in healthy exercise through skiing all the way through elementary and middle school. They are able to expose many low income students to skiing through the school field trip program as well as the Stride Glide program. Their work grows each year to benefit more students in our community.

Our community is blessed to have the Tahoe Cross-Country Ski Ed Ass. program. Having this opportunity gave our three boys the chance to learn and experience the great sport of nordic skiing. My 10 year old son has a passion for cross country skiing now, that I believe he will carry with him his entire life. Without the strider-gliders program this would not be posssible. It is such a pleasure to see all the the local children and families enjoying the program.

Can't wait for my little guy to grow up and participate. I keep on seeing happy kids having fun on the ski trails during after school hours. Program looks very organized and a lot of fun.

Tahoe Cross-Country Ski Ed. Assoc. has introduced our family to an amazing sport. My children love it and, because of that, I became involved in the sport. The Ski Education Association has given all of our local children an opportunity that most won't have and I thank them immensely for that!

Tahoe XC Ski Education Association is a wonderful program. We are so grateful to have these amazing trails, the friendly staff and the Strider Glider program for our local kids. Nordic skiing is something we can do as a family and it has promoted outdoor fitness to our children. The trails and lodge are well-maintained and are not only a source of fitness and access to nature for our locals and visitors alike, but also promotes a sense of community.

I've been a Tahoe local for over 35 years and still amazed at how lucky my friends and family are to have found Tahoe XC. As a small non-profit, they are somehow able to serve all ages with fantastic educational programs, lessons, races and incredible community events. It's amazing to see the shear number of kids who LOVE going to the nordic center to learn, play and smile! This organization fosters a sense of community that is missing in our area . . . Tahoe XC is the best thing going on the North Shore!

TCCSEA is one of the finest organizations in the Tahoe Basin. In addition to the world-class XC skiing available at the facility, the Association provides excellent services to the next generation of skiers in many ways. The Strider-Glider program provides expert, ongoing XC instruction to our kids each winter. The Free Skiing for Schools program is an amazing chance for local teachers to provide outdoor field trips at no cost. Finally, the Winter Discovery Center is an incredible resource offering a broad range of science topics as well as a dedicated staff to enhance those field trips with pertinent, place-based knowledge and fun. My family loves your facility and services, two thumbs up!

Tahoe XC is my favorite place to xc ski in the tahoe basin. The entire staff goes out of their way to help promote xc skiing for locals and visitors alike. They have a great number of programmes to promote physical fitness for everyone from beginners to racers. In addition, they are the most helpful xc resort when it comes to helping with local benefits or programs.

TCCSEA promotes a healthy, active lifestyle for our kids, giving them the opportunity to be outdoors and fostering the love of a great sport, xc skiing, which they will be able to enjoy for their entire lives. The Winter Discovery program educates kids about ecology and our winter environment,. TCCSEA has been hugely successful in building a strong community by providing ski programs and winter education.

The trails at TCCSEA are well maintained and, with all of the miles of these great trails, people can really enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the Tahoe forest. One of the most amazing things I have witnessed is the free skiing that is offered to the local children for field trips. There are children who have never cross-country skied who get this wonderful opportunity to be outdoors, learn to ski and to experience this amazing nordic center. Helping these kids get outside their comfort zone and also see what is out there for them to enjoy in their own backyard is priceless. TCCSEA is a wonderful asset to this community,

TCC is a community gem. All three of my sons and their families enjoy it. I like to xcountry alone and this facility never lets me down. The competions are fun and bring the community together in such a healthy way. I think it is important for a community to play, laugh and eat together and TCC provides just such experiences. I volunteered to help with my grandson's class fiels trip. It was the first time on skis for many of them. It was so rewarding. When my granddaughter is in her Strider Glider class my grandson and I play, then have hot cocoa in the lodge. It is cozy and he finds the children's toys and furniture a nice end to his busy day. Thankyou, TCC!

TCCSEA provides so many great programs. Strider Gliders is a really affordable way to get kids to XC ski- such a service to our community. The Winter Discovery program is something the kids really look forward to and I know a lot of effort is put into making the education valuable and fun.

This Tahoe X-C Center Ski Education Association provides a valuable resource for many local and regional schools, teaching science, research, environmental awareness using sophisticated and creative methods. The association is a model for how a non-profit can involve many elements of a community to create an every-day success, leveraging their resources to create larger, partner-supported programs. It has the capability to do this and more in the future, and deserves support.

Tahoe XC Ski Education Association is a breath of fresh air for our community and kids providing winter education including science and ski programs. In ever expanding digital world full of video games and computers TXCSEA provides and fills a giant need in the community to help get kids active and knowledgable about the outdoors.

The Tahoe XC Center is operated by the non-profit TCCSEA. It is centered in the North Lake Tahoe community and directly adjacent to the local Middle and High Schools providing a great opportunity to expand our schools' and community's knowledge of both the outdoors and of a sport that provides lifelong health benefits.
I have used the center over a period of more than 30 years and only recently have become a volunteer in the Strider Glider program. This program provides after school instruction and recreation for elementary school kids. In addition, the center provides outdoor ed and skiing instruction for school field trips. These programs are administered by committed staff and enthusiastic volunteers.
The center has great terrain, equipment, trail grooming, and teaching staff.

Tahoe XC is a fantastic part of our community. The center offers programs for all ages to get out and explore nature throughout the winter. A great resource for the area.

Our son is now twelve, and nordic ski racing for his middle school, in the largest group of racers ever produced at the school, in a middle school and high school that is located on the boundary of one of the greatest community nordic skiing loctions, the North Tahoe Cross County Center. The only reason for the current size group is the Strider Glider program, offering skis and instructors to kids four years old the through eleven. This program has only been going for around ten years. There is direct realtionship between the beginning of this program, and all of the highly competant 12 year olds now racing today in the local schools. The enthusiam has grown. This program has engulfed the children of a community during this period like none other. The 1960 Olympics were, but only now, and directly because of this program, Nordic skiings has exploded. I am certain that the proportion of total children to the number of children now nordic skiing is one of the highest in the World. The current year program has 250 children skiing in the Strider Gliders program every week. Kevin and Valle, the operators of the center and the program are the root cause, along with dozens of volunteer instructors and board members from the community. Hurray for the best program in the country!

Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association took over a community xc ski area 12 years ago with the objective of building a resource to introduce kids to cross country skiing and provide a quality ski experience.
Over the past 12 years, the area has enjoyed widespread community support with many programs being run by volunteers. It has introduced literally thousands of local school kids to skiing through its 'Strider Glider' program. It also makes itself available for school classes, school ski teams and other organizations such as blind skiers and orienteering programs.
The managers are dedicated to making the ski area a friendly welcoming base for quality cross country skiing. It has become a valuable community resource.

The Tahoe XC Center has become the premier XC center in the Tahoe Truckee area largely due to the competence, persistence and commitment of Kevin and Valli, the managers, and a very committed board of directors. But they have gone beyond what any other XC area has accomplished in becoming a true center of our community. Either by direct support (such as the Strider Glider and Kids Outdoor Program with SWEP) or through ongoing involvement in film and other non-profit events, they have benefitted the residents, businesses and the environment of the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. They are unique models of collaboration and commitment. Thank you TXC!

When I wanted to learn how to skate ski, I went to Tahoe Cross Country. The environment was friendly and supportive. But, aside from the programs for the general public and adults, their educational programs are quite extensive. What a great service they provide for the community! They support the local schools and provide an opportunity for kids of all ages to learn to ski and be outdoors.

It's a great place to ski and recreate. The management and volunteers are always having a good time and making it a fun experience for all.

I have been skiing at this XC ski area for 30 years or more. I have seen several different owners operate this XC ski center. The current owners are far and above THE BEST!
The Ski Center has become the community social center, as everyone has decided that XC skiing is the cool thing to do in our community, mainly because of the wonderful welcoming homey atmosphere created by the current owners and staff.
And what a healthy sport to give to our community - beautiful trails, great grooming, free lessons on certain days, and many educational activities for adults and children alike.
What I love the most is how the children are becoming avid XC skiers, which is such a healthy way for them to grow up, and enjoy the outdoors.
The educational center makes them aware of both the beauty and dangers of Mother Nature, a healthy respect necessary in a world of avalanches and ski accidents. The Ski Association has built a yurt in which to conduct classes in an unusual creative environment.
The XC ski center allows entire classes of school children to ski free on a monthly basis, even setting all the kids up with free rentals. What a joy it is to see these young children laughing and enjoying the sport of xc skiing. Some of them have become Olympic racers.
This organization deserves many kudos!

Tahoe Cross-Country Ski Education Association is WONDERFUL! As a former classroom teacher, I brought my students to the Tahoe Cross-Country Center to learn and experience the outdoors by playing/skiing in their "backyard." This FREE program allowed many of my students to get on cross-country skis for the first time.

Now that I have my own children, I have enrolled them in the Strider Gliders program which allows them to go out and learn how to cross-country ski once a week with a group of their peers and volunteer coaches. It's always more fun to learn something with your friends! In fact, it's so much fun I decided to become a volunteer coach myself!

Tahoe XC offers a wide 65 km network of cross-country ski trails that are groomed expertly for classic and skate skiing and snowshoeing. They offer outstanding programs for local kids. Their base lodge is cozy and inviting with a small cafe. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a first class operation run by XC skiers for XC skiers.

I have been taking field trips of grade schoolers to Tahoe Cross-country for years. It is a beautiful place and many of the children served would not otherwise get out in nature and try something new because many are from low income households. Tahoe cross-country is a great asset to the community.
