Mission: Our mission is education and environmentalism through creative reuse. By diverting manufacturer surplus from landfills and making these materials readily available to schools and teachers, we help reduce waste while providing educational tools to teachers.
T4T believes that manufacturers throw away tons of useful materials that teachers, students, and artists consider treasures. T4T turns these materials that would go to landfills, into inexpensive tools to support STEAM education.
Results: T4T has diverted 458,063 pounds of material from the landfill since 2004
Programs: The organization will rescue safe and inspiring items from local businesses and make them available to teachers, after school providers, non-profits and indivduals. They support hands on learning through science, technology, engineering and math with professional development workshops, material resource cars and classroom collaborations. A variety of hands on creativity and experiences for all ages is supported with a van that will bring inspiring materials to your school or organization and facillitate one our our programs.

T4T is an amazing organization that repurposes industrial waste for use with classroom and community projects. How refreshing it is to see an organization do such positive things, in an environmentally friendly manner, by investing and people. Their commitment to education programs for youth and adults is unparalleled. As an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience, when I approached T4T with a classroom materials management need, they listened and were quick to help me find a sustainable solution that not only stretched the impact of my budget but also added incredible perspectives on the creative use of things when teaching.

I was seeking to donate surplus of an unused item and was directed towards T4T by a member from RAFT.
Upon sending them an email, they responded immediately and they were very nice.
We managed to work out a pick up of the items despite my location being in Orange County and theirs in LA.
It was a pleasure to help out such an awesome cause.
My favorite part: Kathy Petesch invited me to go to an art gallery opening that would showcase how they had used the products that I had donated!
It is not very often that an organization will get back in touch with you to show you how your generosity has helped make a difference in the lives of others.
And for that, T4T will always have my support.
I really had a great time helping T4T. Steve and Kathy, the organization's operators are really passionate about Trash for Teaching, and it shows. Always so much going on and the kids absolutely love it!
I arrived 10 minutes before closing and got so excited with the materials that I couldn't finish in that time so they gave me a half hour more to choose stuff. My imagination went crazy thinking about what we could make with the tubes and lids and mylar and bows. We ended up making a bank that looks like a pregnant woman so our participants can save for their baby's future. It turned out very cute!
