It’s been an informative and engaging experience with HFC. The team consistently sends updates and status reports regarding their work and progress. They’re direct in their asks and their financial accountability is second to none. This is a group of doers with a well developed mission. The clear-minded leadership at HFC means that any gift - financial or in kind is maximized to it’s fullest potential. Her Future Coalition makes making an impact accessible for all, and it’s ripple effect in the lives of girls and women in India (and by extension, the world) is real and measurable.
As a pediatrician and a mom, I was incredibly moved to hear about the work that Her Future Coalition is doing to protect and educate victims of child sexual abuse. I attended an event with their founder and was so inspired by her efforts. I love the sustainable support they garner by selling jewelry made by the women and girls. Grateful to have had the opportunity to hear about their work and contribute to their mission.
HFC is the most loving, heartwarming, and genuinely caring group I know, and it is an honor to take part in their youth-led chapter, OurFutureOfChange. I love this group dearly.
This nonprofit is doing great things! Helping women and children deal with the trauma they’ve experienced, then educating them through university and/or teaching them a profitable trade. This is true empowerment! I love supporting HFC’s work and I especially love the purses, jewelry, clothing & gifts I buy and give. Each had a story and reminds us compassion & generosity can change lives!
This organization is amazing! They successfully raise funds to provide human trafficking survivors with the necessary resources they need to reintegrate into society! I love how transparent they are with how the money I donated will be spent. Thank you for all you guys do!
I have been working with Her Future Coalition for about 3 years now and it has taught me numerous lessons. First off, it has taught me that we can combat human trafficking if we work together. Secondly, it has taught me the importance of hope and looking forward. Moreover, I have learned how important it is to be grateful for things that most take for granted. I have learned much of this from attending events and talking with the leadership team, but also from reading Sarah Symon’s (the founder of HFC) book, “This Is No Ordinary Joy”, which I HIGHLY recommend!! I love this organization and the people who work for HFC. Their cause is incredible and, unlike most organizations, they have truly found a way to combat human trafficking. I have never found another organization that has such passionate individuals involved. I hope more people can learn about Her Future Coalition and their INCREDIBLE work.
I recently returned from an impressive one month volunteer project with Her Future in Kolkata, India I can whole heartedly say this 15 year old non profit organization is accomplishing credible results with vulnerable girls in gravely impoverished + high risk areas. Not only does Her Future dare to go into these challenging areas they do so with genuine care + respect, while making a remarkable difference to end exploitation + poverty through what I witnessed is a comprehensive approach of education, safe shelter + high wage employment.
In my eyes this is what makes Her Future noteworthy. But what makes Her Future exceptional is they are not a short term fix or solution. They are not there because it is the social or politically correct thing to do. What makes Her Future exceptional is they believe in these girls + have made a genuine commitment to consistently be there on the ground supporting, guiding + offering honest tools for empowerment.
And Her Future intelligently recognizes emotional healing is part of the empowerment equation. I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to offer trauma sensitive therapy, yoga + mediation to the girls + staff. It hurt to see what has been taken from them + difficult to experience their suffering yet I found myself in admiration for their unflinching resilience + their collective movement toward healing.
Ending exploitation + slavery is our responsibility. Thankfully there are non profits like Her Future where we can actively help girls break through long standing oppressive barriers to claim their full potentials.
This charity does incredible work providing shelter and resources for healing for survivors of human trafficking. They provide shelter and education, as well as opportunities for survivors to learn the craft of jewelry making and other beautiful goods for sale. I've bought quite a few items made by the women and absolutely LOVE them.
This is a great organization, and one I am proud to support. The leaders walk the talk and I enjoyed meeting some of the team in person and learning about their connections to this cause. The stories of these young girls were difficult to hear. They were heartbreaking and what they have endured, unimaginable. They are also amazing young ladies that are brave, strong, and full of hope. They are deserving of every support we can offer. This is a community in need of uplifting, and a topic that needs greater awareness despite its many discomforts.
I traveled to India with Her Future Coalition and was able to experience first hand the incredible work they do. It was an eye opening and life changing experience. Her Future's team shows a tremendous amount of passion and dedication to their work. They've created a brighter future for hundreds of women and children. It was beautiful to witness and I will always feel a deep connection to their mission.
The Yoga Medicine® Seva Foundation works with Her Future Coalition to protect and empower those who are caught in the vicious cycle of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. By partnering with HFC, we are able to raise funds to the women and children rescued from these forms of modern slavery. Working with HFC has been such a privilege and beautiful experience that helped us meet our goals of raising donations to fund
rescue missions, provide shelter, education, and employment for women and children.
Her Future Coalition was wonderful to work with. I took a service trip to India with them and it was an experience of a lifetime. The work and culture of support that HFC has created is one that I felt privileged to be a part of.
I have supported Her Future coalition and I am so glad that I found them! I am a proponent of Education globally and and by giving I'm able to help a young girl and her family for her future. The most wonderful part is that the young girl I support communicates with me and the organization also gives me updates on what's happening including photos. I feel so connected and I think they're just a stellar organization doing what they can mostly run by local people, a true global impact. I hope you consider them for this award!! Thank you.
I had the great pleasure of traveling to India and seeing the results of the work Her Future Coalition does. Meeting the dedicated Sarah Symons and some of the inspiring women who are currently staying in the shelter was proof enough what HFC does is working. The shelters are clean, roomy, full of activities and support. A place these women and children can call home while they create their futures. Setting these women up for a life time of stability and growth. I have nothing but admiration for Sarah and the other NGOs she works with.
Her Future Coalition is an organization of people who work out of pure love. I have been working with Sarah and the jewelry making team of HFC this year. They are producing my designs and the quality of craftsmanship is EXCELLENT. I could not be more impressed.
The opportunities the girls have thanks to HFC cannot be matched. Working with Sarah and the team has been a life altering experience for me. I truly cannot wait to start showing their work to the world.
Sarah Symons had a passion to help young women and girls find their way through the unimaginable horror of gender violence and sex trafficking. What she so carefully crafted is a way to offer SHELTER, EDUCATION and EMPLOYMENT to those in need. Her Future Coalition is a beacon of hope!
I first became interested in the jewelry. Then I found out the story and became a volunteer. I participated in a life changing immersion trip about a year and a half ago. I will be going back to Nepal and Kolkata next year.
The work is genuine - the work is important. This is a very honest and hard working charity.
I have been a part of the HFC family for 10 years in various capacities; employee, volunteer, advisor, donor and fundraiser. I absolutely LOVE this organization and their results-based successes working with survivors of extreme gender violence and empowering women and children. I seen floors on shelter homes added, survivors evolve into their true potential and children attend school for the first through HFC programs. The programs at HFC work and hundreds of lives have been positively impacted. I can’t wait for the next 10 years!
Wonderful organization! Amanda Bonfiglio is extremely knowledgeable, dedicated and passionate! The work this non-profit does is so crucial to the advancement of women and children, not just in India, but around the globe.
Her Future Coalition is a non profit I support wholeheartedly. Amanda Bonfiglio Cunningham the development director has so much passion and experience, and it is a delight to interact and engage with her any chance I get. This nonprofit is doing such needed and wonderful work in the world!
A remarkable organization led by passionate and knowledgeable people. HFC brings hope to so many women and girls who would otherwise have none. Their successful full circle approach yields real results which are apparent in the changed lives of so many.
HFC's programs are second to none in terms of effectiveness, and cultural relevance and sensitivity. I have been to India and met the survivors, and have seen what a difference HFC has made in their lives. Sarah Symons, the CEO is passionate, brilliant, and dedicated to the cause. The charity is well run.
I was lucky enough to go on a trip with Her Future last January. It truly changed my life. The CEO, Sarah Symmons has dedicated her time, talent and passion to making lives better for these innocent vicitims of human trafikking. I was amazed at the emotional and physical committent that Her Future has to rescueing and supporting these girls to obtain education, a trade and most importantly a safe harbour.
I have been an admirer of this organization for over a decade, so much so that I recently joined the Board of Directors. The women and girls served by Her Future Coalition (formerly TEN Charities) get hope, and so much more: skills, education, compassion, social connections, dignity, independence. I'm so proud to be connected to Her Future and to help in any way I can!
I have been following TEN Charities since its inception and am so impressed with how effective it is. Well-run, culturally sensitive, creative and most importantly, it really changes lives of the women it servers.
I have very recently joined the board but was a fan and supporter for many years before I was officially affiliated.
Absolutely LOVE Her Future! From their programs to the love and individualized care they show to the girls in their programs and beyond, they are truly incredible. They have child sponsorship programs to allow girls to receive the formal education they need to accomplish their soar in the career of their choice, a jewelry program to train girls in goldsmithing and design to become entrepreneurs in the field, as well as rescue, shelter and counsel survivors of all forms of gender violence including, but not limited to, human trafficking. The people behind HFC are no different: dedicated to the cause and to the women they serve. Her Future is one I will never stop supporting in anyway that I can.
I've be working with TEN Charities (Her Future Coalition) since 2015. I've visited their shelters and jewelry centers in India numerous times and each time, am blown away by the amazing work they do. Their reach is vast and through their proved success of shelter, education and employment - they are making the difference this world needs.
Please consider supporting this small, yet mighty organization. Its ability to empower women and girls around the world is made possible by yours!
This organization is doing amazing and important work with survivors, I am excited to see how they continue to grow.
This organization is very effective using their resources and partnerships for the greatest impact on women and children overcoming trafficking and severe abuse. Her Future Coalition is a true grassroots organization that works diligently to provide highly individualized solutions to each woman and girl walking through their doors, and their success rates prove it. The co-founders are selfless and work tirelessly around the clock to ensure their women, girls and site leaders have sufficient resources to build these women up, educate them and give them a vocation that provides for themselves and their families, as well as builds sustainable communities. Their model is a benchmark.
The work this organization is doing is life-changing. Their focus on ensuring survivors of human trafficking have a future and a hope through empowering employment is essential. I have been honored to be associated with Her Future Coalition.
T E N Charities is doing great work and is certainly a Great Nonprofit. Their founders, team of professionals, and board of directors are inspired and inspiring.
I have only known about Ten for 3 months. In searching for a charity to support, I look for alignment of my interests, focused members, passion at the top and a low expense ratio. Ten had all of the above, with true passion and extreme attention to getting maximum amount of dollars raised into the hands of the young women they are training in a skill that will provide a lifetime of independence. A truly inspirational group of people who I am pleased to now be aligned with.
TEN Charities is a program that quite simply put works...and works well. I have seen the positive and direct impact TEN Charities has made in the lives of many young women. I sponsor a young girl who was once a victim of sex trafficking and now because of the efforts of TEN Charities is a thriving happy 14 year old. We write letters to each other and send photos. TEN Charities takes one of the most horrifying human conditions and creates hope and a future for victims of slavery and trafficking. I became involved with TEN Charities about 7 years ago when I did a short documentary on the program. I was beyond impressed with the work they do. I continued to stay involved over the years because of how impressed I was with the team, the results and the girls.
I have been working for TEN Charities for about one year now here in Kolkata, in charge of the Child Sponsorshp project. I am impressed with how TEN networks among like-minded groups here to protect at-risk women and children. My job is to interview and interact through expressive arts with the children who are receiving educational sponsorships, which allow them to attend school or special activities. In just one year, I've seen many of the children bloom. All children are able to learn and take control of their lives if education is a priority – and this is proven over and over again with the Child Sponsorship program and the commitment of TEN and all the groups it works with in Kolkata. Visiting the children and our partner organisations, and then reporting to the caring donors back in the US and the UK gives me a great sense of hope. I am proud to continue to build this bond, this circle of love that pushes ahead children from very low socio-economic backgrounds and gives them opportunities they may not otherwise have known. One more reason TEN CHARITIES is a GREAT non-profit in my eyes is that they are very diligent about fully respecting the privacy of each girl, each young woman they work with. Each story is personal, unique, and often devastating... Rather, TEN Charities encourages each person to look forward and move forward, and must say I can support that wholeheartedly. Thank you for your commitment to these young people.
Mr brother in law has recently come back from Kolkatta and shared his experience of Made by Survivors with us. What an amazing charity doing such hard work and making the difference that's needed out there. Hope they are given all the support they need to continue their work
This is an amazing charity that helps individuals and animals alike, who have been through dreadful ordeals, to heal in a safe environment with dedicated people who care for their welfare.
They are treated with the deepest respect and given an opportunity via a number of projects to carry on in their lives with a view to nurturing their self esteem and providing a bright and better future for themselves.
Such a charity and their amazing work gives me hope for the human race and it's future.
I was fortunate enough to travel to India to see first hand what wonderful work this organization is doing. There is truly a remarkable group of dedicated people doing incredible work with women and animals in need. I am extremely impressed with their work.
There is an incredible mission and purpose within this organization. It is particularly impression how much of their funding goes directly to survivors.
TEN Charities provides programming that positevly impacts the course of many women's lives. The board and Founder hold the highest integrity in program, and engage many volunteers in their mission. Perhaps in the future TEN Charities can gain more interest and impact even more women and children to rescue them from the path they are on! This is a mission that affects all of us, as we all need to know and do something about slavery today.
I love this organization. They are lean and serious, and you can see the effects of their work everywhere. I have sponsored a child for the past 9 years, and I have come to know her through the consistent letters and reports I receive. I donated to the "Raise the Roof" campaign and got to witness a new shelter home built in a very vulnerable border area in India. In short, what I find is that when I give, I see results, and I feel good about where my dollars are going. In addition, all the communications and posts from this organization are uplifting, hopeful, forward-oriented. It is clear that the survivors of trafficking and other violence are at the center of this organization's planning and programming, and they are respected and honored as partners, not objects of "charity." In short, this nonprofit has my highest rating and it is the one I give to over and over again.
When I am working for/with Made By Survivors, I feel it is the best time I spend on this earth--aside from raising my own daughter. The founders and staff are all completely committed, as Sarah says, they all go "all in," living their commitment to ending slavery. Working with survivors has been one of the greatest gifts of my life--I have learned so much about resilience, strength, and grace. I will fight the scourge of sex slavery and exploitation until my dying day, but it's so much better having such an amazing group of people to do it with, through an organization that is so very solid, ethical, and visionary.
Made by Survivors does an amazing job, supporting the rescue of many women subjected to human trafficking, and playing a key role in their rehabilitation and reentry into society. Through Made by Survivor's vocational training programs, the women have obtained real skills allowing them to make money for themselves, receive an education, and gain confidence.
My recent service trip to India in support of Animal People Alliance exceeded my expectations in every way. I learned so much about the challenges related to animal welfare as well as the human rights crimes that many young and impoverished people are vulnerable to and actually met some of the survivors that have been helped by APA and the parent organization, Made by Survivors. It was an inspiring and motivating experience to see such great work being done and at the same time learn about the people, language, food and culture of India. The trip was well planned and executed and we really enjoyed the other people on the trip as well as our APA guides and staff - truly made for an even more special and once in a lifetime experience. We hope to continue to support the organization as they grow and expand their scope. My company has a 40 hour volunteer program so I was able to donate some of my work time to the trip and they also made a monetary contribution as well which also made the experience that much more rewarding for me. Overall, it was a great opportunity and we returned to the US feeling enlightened, inspired and in awe of some of the great work that we saw being done as a result of both Animal People Alliance and Made by Survivors!
Amazing products, amazing work i n the world! This org helps women and girls for life providing shelter, education and employment.
I recently got involved with this incredible organization. I have been so impressed with the level of commitment of the team and the amazing work they're able to do in India and Nepal and the neighboring areas. Sarah, one of the co-founders, is beyond smart, motivated and overall inspiring. She is leading the charge in developing the most impactful programming and the stories she shares from her time on the ground provoke such strong emotions and a clear desire to give more back.
Human trafficking is not an easy thing to address. Sarah and her team are making great strides in providing these survivors the shelter, education, and high-wage job training they need to break the cycle of violence and feel economically empowered in their societies. Giving these people the freedom to remain free is an amazing gift and I can't wait for the opportunity to help even more people achieve this peace.
Doing great work that must be done to ensure that each and every young woman in the world can be her best self.
Truly amazing trip with the Ten Charities, Made by Survivors and Animal People Alliance charities. So much so I have returned to the UK to continue to fundraiser for these charities
Wonderful organization! Its program has grown and evolved significantly over the last years, bringing truly meaningful changes in the lives of trafficking survivors by providing them with the training and tools to create economically sustainable lives for themselves.
Made By Survivors is an amazing organization. They are knowledgable and competent—skilled in the delicate and complicated work of helping survivors of human trafficking and raising public awareness about the issue.
I was honored to volunteer with them. I felt welcomed and prepared to do the work that had been assigned to me.
Made by survivors has come a long way in its support towards education for the underprivileged girl child. They have successfully played the role in changing their lives from the slums into a meaningful existence. Kudos to this team.
Made By Survivors is an amazing group of selfless individuals! Their continuous efforts to train and economically empower those who otherwise would not have these opportunities is truly awe-inspiring. They are providing hope along with tangible skills that are changing lives for the better. I am so proud to support a non-profit that is enriching lives and ultimately creating real change.
Associating with them is a sheer joy and privilege.. They are fully committed to what they believe in, which makes working with them very fulfilling.
In their efforts to help survivors through education and employment, Sarah and John have done a fantastic job here in Kolkata.. Their dedication has led to tangible results in our city and I am proud to be associated with them. They deserve every recognition possible and the proof is in the many smiling faces at 'Made by Survivors'
Made By Survivors is a great organization that is doing a phenomenal job raising awareness of human trafficking, and actually helping women rescued from that life by providing them with real opportunities to earn a living and support their families.
I am very glad to work with Made By Survivors. I really appreciate the way they manage their work at every point, the cool atmosphere of their centres. All members of Made By Survivors they are amazing you can't stop yourself to be part of it. I am very excited for Made By Survivors future growth the way they expended their work from people to animal. My best wishes for them. Thank You Made By Survivors for giving me change to see your work.
TEN Charities has made a huge impact on the lives of many women across the globe. Staff and volunteers at Made By Survivors work tirelessly to empower women in India and Nepal. The girls not only make a sustainable wage but also create beautiful pieces of jewelry. I hear the stories of women who were once trapped in sex slavery now have a new life and a career. Thank you TEN Charities for standing in the gap and empowering so many women. World Changers.
I have supported Made by Survivors through my purchases because they are giving girls and women the opportunity to provide for themselves and reduce the risk of exploitation.
I learned about Made By Survivors through a friend with a passion for building awareness about human trafficking. I was instantly impressed with the non-profit that has a terrific business model that helps make a true difference in the lives of those who have been trafficked. The products they have sold over the years have been high quality, and yet reflect those who made them. I have jewelry and a bag that I purchased several years back and they are still in excellent condition. I love that each time I look at one of the items, it makes me think of those who made the items and those who are working to make a difference for them.
My church became involved with MBS about 10 years ago after Sarah gave a presentation there. She and John are two of the most dedicated people I know. I am impressed with the results of their work in other countries and it is exciting to here about the individuals that are being helped. There are many nonprofits to give your money to or to work for, but this is the top one for me.
