Glenna and her amazing, small but mighty, family at Sweetpups went many extra miles (literally!) to bring my family their beloved pup to Maine all the way from Texas. That was two years ago and I still can't believe everything they do to save dogs and get them to loving homes - and similarly help people come together and adopt animals that make our lives so much better. Thank you for all you do and please don't ever stop! That little puppy you brought to us, then known as Mooshi, is thriving and we couldn't imagine life without him!

The best place to go for a rescue dog.
TESTIMONIAL!!!

SWEETPUPS

Destination Maine- Saving Southern Dogs

I searched locally, in shelters and rescues since June 2020 trying to find a small dog . We are elderly in Washington County Maine and had great difficulty finding a rescue dog. Breeders wanted to sell puppies and there’s a shortage of well socialized small rescue dogs in Maine. Facebook groups with free pets from private owners , were the sources that referred me to Sweetpups.org Rescue & Sancuary in east TX. They have a transport every 4-6 weeks to Maine with adoptable dogs of all sizes.

On FB it’s ” “DESTINATION MAINE-SAVING SOUTHERN DOGS They shelter homeless dogs and prepare them to be adoptable;, medically and behaviorally. We needed a friendly non aggressive little dog and that’s just what we got . There is an adoption fee. But it’s a deal as the dogs are all vetted and screened for medical & behavioral issues. I recommend this Rescue if you are looking for a dog and live in Maine or TX

Sweetpups is an amazing place where all dogs are family members while awaiting their adoptive homes. Many dogs with medical issues stay in the sanctuary part of the rescue and are well tended and loved while others share 3 acres of safe and comfy accommodations. Sweetpups is the Mecca for hurting dogs in southeast Texas and beyond.
