Sweet Dreams for Kids is the best!!! I would know first hand because I am Eliana and my sister is the reason why sweet dreams for kids was started. I was only 18 months old when my sister Chaya Dalya was diagnosed with cancer. Me being so little I couldn't understand anything that was going on. In 2008 my family started Sweet dreams and I still was very little. But, as I got older I started learning more about what my sister went through and why sweet dreams for kids was started. My mom is amazing! If I could describe my mom in 3 words I would say she lives to give. Everything is about everyone but herself. My mom has sent over 15,000 pairs of pajamas nationwide! I try to help my mom as much as I can with sweet dreams for kids. I have gone a few times to deliver pajamas at hospitals in St. Louis, Chicago, Minnesota, Iowa, etc. I feel so good after making those deliveries. These kids are fighting for their lives and then when they get some cute and cozy decorative pajamas it really turns their frown into a smile. Not only does it make the kid feel good but I think it also leaves a big impact on the family knowing that someone cares about them and their family on their journey. My mom has really gone out of her way to deliver pajamas, she will go out late at night and go deliver personally to a family in the hospital. The trips to the hospital, storage unit (to get pajamas), and the post office (to send pajamas) are countless. My mom and my family love to put smiles on kids and their family faces that are going through difficult times. Kids, fight! Keep smiling with your pajamas. BELIEVE IN MIRACLES!!! Mom, keep doing what you do!!! I love you!
Wonderful organization! Brought cheer to my daughter with new jammies!!! Truly wonderful organization making those kids who are dealing with issues no kids should feel not so alone!
Quick response when heading inpatient for daughter! She was very excited (and less anxious) about staying overnight with new pj’s -certainly Sweet Dreams!
We absolutely love "Sweet Dreams for Kids" they are a fantastic foundation that gives comfort in pajamas to kids in the hospital.
Our daughter Alexa (@Love4Lexy) Has been fighting brain cancer and NF1 for 14 years of her 15 year old life. She is now blind.
Wendy and her beautiful children reached out and asked if Alexa would like to have a pair of pajamas since she spends most of her life in the hospital. They also offered her brother Cameron a pair. Alexa's 1st P j's were a monkey nightgown that fit her perfectly and she loved it! She wore it until she outgrew it.
Every year SDK checked on us to see if Alexa & Cameron would like another set of
P j's. So they have checked with us and kept up with her as she gets older. She has had 4 pairs of pajamas and her brother as well has had a few. Not only do they send pajamas, the children Send a special note with her name on it and kind words.
For our family, The pajamas aren't just pajamas. When you're in the hospital they are a little piece of home to give you comfort in a scary world of medicine, pain, doctors, and cancer.
Everybody should check out sweet dreams for kids and see how you can bring comfort to children in the hospital. We LOVE Wendy & her Amazing Children they really care they are an awesome foundation. But not just that, they are our "friends"
What an incredible organization! My schools have had the privilege of raising money and collecting pajamas for Sweet Dreams for Kids for the last 4 years. Wendy's story is touching and she is always so grateful for the items we can donate to them. As a parent I know first hand how scary it is for your child to become ill. Knowing that there is an organization out there that is willing to donate their time and resources to make a hospital stay for a child a little bit more comforting is truly amazing! Thank you Sweet Dreams for Kids!!
No words can ever express how inspired I am by the work that sweet dreams and Wendy do for so many sick kids who need help... when we first met, I was truly awe stricken about what Wendy and the entire Sweet Dreams team do for kids who need an extra smile while at the hospital... as someone who sadly lost a father and sister, I knew that making them feel comfortable and at home was something that was super important to me and to them... what sweet dreams does for kids is truly remarkable and the amount of pajamas distributed to kids all over the world is something that cannot go unacknowledged.... I truly have been following the work they do and I am utterly inspired every time I see the smiles they put on kids faces when a new pair of pajamas are delivered to kids in the hospital ... this organization is the real deal and I truly hope they continue their amazing work and get support and make lots of kids happy:) love what all you do and am truly inspired every day.... keep the amazing work going and I am so blessed and humbled to know the family behind Sweet Dreams... your love for others and your unwavering selflessness is truly remarkable... I love you all and wishing you many more years of success in helping the myriads of families and kids who need a warm and comfy pair of pajamas and of course love :)) xoxo Janaya Kerben
We have been so fortunate to be blessed by Wendy and the Sweet Dreams for Kids family. Our son has been fighting cancer for five years and we have had delightful deliveries of cozy pajamas that were perfect for his needs. Not only did they support our son, but the positive boost we got as well was a blessing. We are certain to recommend Sweet Dreams for Kids to other groups looking for a way to support children and families.
Wendy reached out to me on Facebook telling me about her non-profit and said she wanted to send pj’s to my daughter who is battling a brain tumor. She not only sent some for her but for both of her sisters as well. She took the time to find out what colors they like and what they are interested in so that she could send not just the right sizes but something they would love. She picked perfectly and my daughters were all thrilled!! What she is doing is a true gift. Such a loving gesture. Kids would rather be in comfy nightgowns and pj’s than in a silly hospital gown. As they battle these horrible diseases it helps to feel some comfort that reminds them of home. I am thankful for Sweet Dreams For Kids for making my kids smile during a difficult time. Thank you!!
Sweet dreams for kids has blessed my daughter inpatient on many occasions. I’ve nominated a number of others to receive sleepwear with quick response. This family is a blessing to many and the gift of comfort they give to others during trying times is truly wonderful.
Sweet dreams for kids is an absolutely amaizing nonprofit , I reached out to them in hopes that they would be able to send my little girl whom was getting a g tube some pijamas , well they not only sent her some but also sent our three other boys a pair also . We are so very thankful for this in these hard times .
Sweet Dreams for Kids donated PJ's to my friend, her husband who is going through cancer treatment and their 3 kids and this is a message from the family that I had to share: "FYI, hard to get a photo of all of us together...but, I can tell you that he LOVED his PJs so much! I wore mine this week. And, the girls...just got washed up. Please share with your friend (and YOU!) what a wonderful gift this is. We feel very loved, and are very happy you all thought of our family!" Thank you Sweet Dreams for Kids for bringing some joy to a family who is going through a very long and hard battle right now.
Our son, five months at the time, was going in for surgery and Sweet Dreams for Kids came by and donated pajamas to not just our baby, but to his 2 other siblings. Sweet Dreams for Kids wanted to make sure that each of our kids were thought of during this hard time. The creators of this organization are so dear to our hearts and just the sweetest people you will ever be in contact with!!!!! They do so many great things for families going through a hard time.
I contacted sweet dreams for kids and was instantly messaged back. Not only did they sponsor my child who was in the hospital with pjs, but also her sister, who at the time, was bouncing from family to friends houses while we stayed in the hospital for a month. Thank you and lots of live from the Vattimo family. Our Adventure with Holoprosencephaly - Arabella HoPE
Our daughter Alexa has brain Cancer and has been in and out of hospitals for 13 years.
Wendy and her family through their wonderful foundation Sweet Dreams for Kids reached out to us and said they wanted to send Alexa (Love4Lexy) on FB A new set of PJs. They also included her brother (Sibling).
They sent a perfect size PJ set They sent a few more in the years ahead. they kept in touch with us checked on our Daughter's progress. Each time they blessed us with a new set of PJs, they included a home made card from the kids. They are kindhearted and work so hard to make children who live in and out of the hospital comfortable and to give them " Sweet Dreams"
Here is a link to our video to show you our thanks for the awesome PJs for Alexa AND her brother Cameron.
Thank You Wendy & Family for caring about our daughter.
We love you Alexa, Cameron & Mom
Sweet Dreams for Kids have sent my daughter PJs 4 times now. It was so sweet of them. She loves to take them to the hospital. This lady and her entire family are always thinking of other children and trying to make them comfortable it is fun for kids to get new pajamas. Especially when they're sick in the hospital and want to bring their own pajamas with them. The kids always leave a personal note or picture with the child's Name. Thank you Wendy and family and sweet dreams for kids.
Such an amazing charity that helps our children. I have been blessed to interact with Wendy on a number of occasions and I can honestly say I have never met someone with such passion for what she does.
I first learned of "Sweet Dreams for Kids" when the organization was featured on a local television show. Wendy's enthusiasm and commitment are contagious. I am the director of a local preschool. For the past 10 years, we have celebrated Mother's Day at our preschool by asking our students to go to the store and, instead of buying a gift for their mother, to purchase a pair of pajamas for a sick child in honor of their mother. Our students and their families have embraced this program. Our preschool "moms" can think of no better way to celebrate Mother's Day! The kids bring the pajamas to school and hang them on a long clothesline in the school's entrance. Since our first successful event, it has become our Mother's Day tradition!
I have had the great privilege of facilitating large pajama donations to support Sweet Dreams For Kids on two separate occasions. Each time, SDFK has expressed such sincere gratitude for my company's support. Wendy and SDFK do this work out of such a genuine place - with such kindness and compassion AND with very minimal resources. If your company is looking for a fabulous organization to support and partner with, I highly recommend SDFK!
I am 14 and I held a pajama drive at my school for this organization, as it directly helps kids with cancer. The school community felt very good to participate in donating, and I was glad to see how well it went and how easy it was to donate. I am so happy that it helps so many kids.
I am a nurse in St Louis. We have been in contact with Wendy with Sweet Dreams for Kids for the last few weeks. Wendy will be making kids in our Children's hospital a little more comfortable when we start our "tuck ins". We can't thank Sweet Dreams for Kids enough for their compassion and generousity! Looking forward to a long connection with them!
