Asking for Help from My Friends and Followers!

Today, I’ve reached my limit. I’ve tried to keep my situation private out of pride, but I must admit—pride alone won’t put a roof over my head. That’s why I’m turning to you, my friends, both those I know and those I’ve yet to meet, for help.

Right now, I’m living in my car with my beloved pet, Fika. Finding a way out has been incredibly difficult due to new immigration regulations in Florida, which have left my status in limbo. I’ve always been an entrepreneur, a hard worker, and someone who supports others. But the current economic situation has slowed everything down to a level I’ve never seen before. Fear and uncertainty are pushing many migrant entrepreneurs and workers out—some by choice, others by force.

If you can spare $1 or $1.50, it would mean the world to me. Every little bit helps me survive and continue working on my Golden Hearts & Wisdom app, which I believe can help redistribute wealth in a new and better way. I promise, you will see results.

Sweet Dream Makers shines the light on the fact that many children have never slept on a bed of their own. This non profit provides a bed, which turns into a good night sleep, which trickles down into a day of better learning, which turns into endless possibilities....all because someone started with donating a bed!

I have the opportunity to volunteer for Sweet Dream Makers throughout the year and see the great impact they have on kids in the community. It is amazing that children who don't have beds will receive them so quickly and their lives are changed.

Since 2016 Sweet Dream Makers has been a transformative force in South Florida dedicated to delivering hope with dignity by providing children with proper beds. The team tirelessly works to get kids off the floor and into comfortable sleeping arrangements, enhancing their physical health, overall sense of security, and performance at school. Their work exemplifies the power of community and compassion in action.

Having seen bedlessness locally, domestically, and internationally, the importance a good night's rest can change a child's life - literally overnight. I am honored to work with Sweet Dream Makers to ensure every child has a bed of their own!

I have supported SDM since its inception. They deliver tangible results by ensuring children and their families have a warm, safe place to sleep. Seeing their effective work in action inspires me to be involved in such a wonderful organization. I appreciate their transparency and effective use of donations, which build trust and a sense of pride in supporting the work that they do. No child should have to sleep on the floor.

I volunteer my time for Sweet Dream Makers working on its computer programs and website. I also volunteer at fundraising events. As a result, I work closely with Sweet Dream Makers Staff and other volunteers. The Staff is top-notch, professional, and passionate. The other volunteers are fundraising events are always 100% committed and super enthusiastic. A nonprofit that can attract such high quality staff members and volunteers must be top notch itself.

I started working for Sweet Dream Makers a year ago after going to an event and seeing the impact they had on families right here in my surrounding area. I was amazed at how many kids and their families didn't have a bed of their own. Sweet Dream Makers has helped SO many families change their lives. I love being a part of this organization and watching it grow to help even more.

I have been involved with Sweet Dream Makers since its' beginnings as a donor, a volunteer and a founding board member. The mission is so simple and direct, provide beds and bedding to children who are experiencing unsafe, unsanitary or untenable sleeping situations. Everything from the ability to rapidly respond to requests from social service agencies to the personalization of the beds and bedding to fit within the environs of the child, as well as consider the child's favorite colors/characters so that the bed really becomes a space of his/her own, are ways that Sweet Dream Makers is focused not only on the mission but the direct needs of the recipients. Providing over 500 beds a month, maintaining an organization that is efficiently and transparently run as well as focusing on the future and sustainability are all unique qualities that set Sweet Dream Makers apart from others. I believe in the mission and work of the organization and will continue to invest my time and talent in sustainability and growth with the laser focus of solving the hidden issue of bedlessness.in our community and beyond.

I have volunteered for Sweet Dream Makers for several years. The SDM mission is simple, to ensure every child in our community has a bed of their own. The board, staff, and volunteers have worked tirelessly to help thousands of children and their families. SDM has continued to grow and expand to cover a larger geographical area which demonstrates their true dedication and a strong belief in the importance of community working together to improve the lives of children and provide a better, brighter future for everyone. SDM operates in very transparent, financially responsible manner to ensure low administrative cost so that donations are utilized for their intended purpose of providing beds for children.

I love to support Sweet Dream Makers, both as a volunteer and a donor. Seeing the smiles on those children’s faces just makes you feel so good. As a mother, I know how hard parenting can be sometimes and being able to give them the comfort of knowing that don’t have to worry about their children getting a good night sleep is so important.

After several years of volunteering for Sweet Dream Maker’s, I am proud to say that I’ve recently become a SDM Ambassador.
The work I do for them is a passion that lives deep within me. It’s the passion of a safe place to rest your head and get a good night’s sleep. It’s so very easy to take it all for granted. So it’s a blessing that we can all come together to help those less fortunate. Donations come in different forms. It could be your time and energy, a donation of bedding or gently used furniture for our warehouse or simply a monetary donation. Thank you for your consideration because every little bit makes a difference.

I have been involved as a volunteer and love to watch the Sweet Dream Makers mission come to life. They provide the most incredible impact and through each fundraiser and clear and purposeful outcome. They are grateful for each and every donation and truly put every dollar to work with clear and direct contributions to their mission. Whether a pillow, bedding, a bed or bed frame, each dollar is put to direct use to make their mission possible. It has been gratifying to watch Sweet Dream Makers' extraordinary compassion for those in need. I've watched Sweet Dream Makers grow from a small grassroots local charity to an organization that has assisted thousands of families. I was introduced to Sweet Dream Makers through our Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce and was able to have a "Pajama Party" with my group of friends to help raise money to provide a mattress, bed and bedding for someone in need in our community. Chloe Textor came and explained the programs, impact and gave us a first-hand look at what Sweet Dream Makers was doing right in our community. It was so impactful! As a Delray Chamber staff member and leader of our Nonprofit Council, I have learned about Sweet Dream Makers impact countywide. So proud to support and promote this worthy organization!

Sweet Dream Makers not only provides a place for kids and families to sleep - they give pjs, sheets, and other items to really make these families feel comfortable. It's imperative to have a good night sleep for health, school, work, and more. The team and volunteers at Sweet Dream Makers works so hard and truly care.

As a founding board member, I continue to love everything this charity stands for. Our staff works so hard to fulfill the needs of our community.

There are no politics or agendas of any type – just a great group of people helping others efficiently and effectively.

I was at a reveal for Special Spaces (SS) the other day. Special Spaces designs themed bedrooms for children fighting terminal illnesses. For this particular child the room was designed in "Police" theme as he would like to be a policeman when he grows up. SS notices the mattresses for the 3 boys as well as their mom were in particularly bad shape. In comes Sweet Dream Makers to the rescue ... all 3 boys and mom received new beds along with a newly designed boys bedroom and play area.

Over the years I have supported and served on the Board of various not for profit and charitable organizations, but my experience with the Sweet Dream Makers exceeds all others based upon the accomplishments and services this organization provides and the number of persons' lives changed on a daily basis. Everyone involved is truly dedicated to the cause, and it is my goal to be part of ensuring this organization will be able to sustain its mission and continue to grow for many years to come.

In March 2022, Chloe Textor, Development and Communications Director of Sweet Dream Makers appeared on Delray Morning Live to announce their new milestone of more than 10,000 beds provided since their founding in 2017. The hosts and filming venue were so moved that they started coordinating a fundraising event to benefit Sweet Dream Makers in June 2022. That event was a huge success and raised funds to provide brand new beds and bedding to children living in poverty, or to families who are struggling to provide. Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce is proud to have them as a nonprofit member.

Sweet Dream Makers and their mission to supply beds to children who would otherwise be sharing beds or sleeping on the floor has been a dream come true for over 4000 families in South Florida. I was fortunate enough to work beside Suzanne Broad the founder and director at the inception of this wonderful charitable organization when she realized the need was so great and there were no resources to fill it. I have seen first-hand how this program has changed lives. Children are doing better in school and their behavior has improved dramatically impacting everyone in their family. Not only do they fulfill requests for beds and bedding, but they also have a warehouse program where people can donate gently used furniture to help families in transition. Sweet Dream Makers in only a few short years has been successful in transforming the lives of the families they serve which has far-reaching benefits in their communities and beyond.

I have been a donor to Sweet Dream Makers for 4 years. I initially contacted the organization when my brother had fallen on hard times. Sweet Dream Makers was able to provide him with a beautiful new bed as well as a couch and coffee table. It was then that I decided to volunteer and help others who are desperate for the most basic but essential need- a clean comfortable bed. As a volunteer I have met with families at the warehouse and seen their joy and relief when receiving beds and furniture, pots and pans and other essentials. I feel honored to be a part of this incredible organization.

What impressed me when I first learned about Sweet Dream Makers was the immediate response that this organization provides for these families who are need. No red tape, no government regulations to deal with, just immediate help. And, I've seen that the families are handled with compassion and respect. The simple fact that each child is able to select his or her own bedding of choice just told me that this group goes above and beyond with their caring.
Learning that it is equally important to this charity, to have a monetary donation or gently used beds, dressers etc, I knew it was place of great value.

Sweet Dream Makers is a fantastic organization with a simple mission - put kids in beds. However, there is nothing simple about what SDM does. Every bed they purchase is made with love and care. They ask the kids what their favorite colors are for new matching bedding and provide bed bug and waterproof protectors. They learn about their families and their situations - Are there 3 kids in one bedroom? Is the child sharing a bedroom with a parent? Do they need bunk beds? twins? toddler beds? cribs? Whatever the case may be SDM makes it work. In the end, SDM doesn't just give kids new beds, they create a safe space for each child to call their own!

Suzy Broad and Sweet Dream Makers has done wonders for our community. By taking gently used furniture, they are able to assist those in need. I have donated beds, sofas, dining sets and household items. Each experience was seamless. The drivers that come to do the pickup are kind and professional. I’ve received pictures of the recipients enjoying the furniture which makes the donation that much more meaningful. Suzy and Sweet Dream Makers are always my first phone call and referral when myself and others are looking to donate.
