SV@Home not only consistently and thoroughly works to educate everyone on why affordable housing matters, but they do it in such a way that makes you want to join their efforts. Their work is more vital than ever and I'm thankful for their presence in the Bay Area.
SV@Home is an awesome and dynamic organization that keeps industry folks as well as citizen informed in all things housing with a focus on affordable housing such as legislation and urban planning. They make participating in advocacy easy as well with organized dates for door knocking and on-line form letters! Lastly, there are a bunch good folks working there!
The staff and members here are the best of the best. Housing inequality (along with incarceration) is our country’s and region’s greatest tool of segregation and oppression. SV@Home is helping people RIGHT NOW; and also fixing the system for generations to come.

SV@Home is doing what few other nonprofits are doing -- really talking about and advocating for tough planning decisions that need to be made to correct years of inaction by local governments in approving much needed housing, including that which is affordable. They are getting people to talk about the things that matter, such as the connection between single-family zoning and the fact that families of color have historically been unable to amass wealth in the same way that white families have. Do we really need so much parking in housing developments? How much land should be devoted to multifamily housing? These and other issues are just a few of the important conversations being brought to the fore by SV@Home. Kudos!
SV@Home is one of the most effective and well-respected organizations in our region fighting for more housing for everyone. Silicon Valley is one of the very most expensive places to live in the country and that will only change if there are smart, committed, and effective organizations pushing for policy change at the local, county, and state levels. SV@Home is that organization here in Silicon Valley. Because of their work, we have billions of dollars more for affordable housing, we have local planning rules that make it easier to build affordable housing, and we have more companies, employees, and residents engaged advocating for more homes.
SV@Home is a young non-profit, launching formally in 2015. In the two years since the official launch, the organization has proved itself as the central advocacy organization for affordable housing in Santa Clara County. The organization focuses on advocacy for sites and funding for affordable housing, and providing essential information to the wide network of other organizations and firms working in the housing and affordable housing space. The result is local governments are being held more accountable to make responsible decisions in relation to addressing our area's housing affordability crisis. A membership organization, SV@Home is unique to organizations of its ilk in other areas in that it has created a much bigger tent of supporters including non-profit housing developers, for-profit housing developers, major corporations, social advocacy organizations, financial institutions, elected and appointed officials, and many community leaders and individuals. That kind of diversity leads to much more influence. With an experienced and outstanding board and staff, SV@Home is a quality organization that will prove to be a worthwhile investment for a donor.
