Mission: Provide food, clothing, healthcare and community to residents of hampshire and franklin counties, primarily through volunteer efforts.
Programs: Expanded nutrition programs for school-age children in the food pantry, monthly weekend hours to increase access to the food pantry, access to fresh produce throughout the winter, job search support and job fairs, offering patient navigation services, and hosting dental services and other health services through the health clinic.
The Amherst survival center provides food, clothing, health care, referrals, and community for our neighbors in need in Amherst and neighboring towns.
For every $1 donated to the Survival Center, they are able to generate $5 in services. If it wasn't for the great work all these volunteers do, our neighbors in need - the working poor, the homeless, the elderly on fixed incomes - would be in trouble.
The center is mostly volunteer-run, with many of the customers volunteering as well as awesome folks in our community.
