The Surf Happens Foundation is a means by which a young person can experience the ocean as a participant and not just an observer. While many surfer athletes take waves and challenge the water environment, this foundation's staff challenge tough socioeconomics and provide a means for disabled and underserved youth to experience the partnership between their body and the sea. Patient teachers and coaches guide the children and the surfboard in riding the waves of adversity and illness. We were very impressed by the passion the founder, Chris Keet, and his staff have with all ages in a recent fundraising event where they provided lessons and encouragement. This foundation is fun and selfless.
