I have partnered with Support Over Stigma over the last 8 months in partnership with my organization. I cannot say enough good things about how this organization truly lives out their mission of helping their clients overcome the stigma of mental health. Not long after the CEO, Zoeie Kreiner, spoke with a group of our team members, I had several team members reach out and thank us for connecting them with this organization and stated the resources they have for community members is outstanding and much needed. The resources that Support Over Stigma provided helped some of our very own team members' family and friends.
I have also had the opportunity to volunteer with Support Over Stigma several times in this past 8 months and always walk away feeling so blessed for being a part of something bigger.
If you're looking to support an organization that provides assistance to Active-Duty Military, Veterans, and First Responders, this is absolutely one that I would recommend.
Absolutely selfless and pure honest giving support to our soldiers still active, inactive, or separated. I’ve volunteered for their troop package work and so grateful in all the donations showing our love.
This group has sent me and my Marines numerous care packages while serving overseas. Every box is packed with all the right goodies that we want/need from home. The packages also vary so no two are alike when we have gotten them which is great as they feel like they have thoughts behind ensuring we get a little bit of everything. Amazing group lead by amazing people!
A great organization providing a very needed service, run by an individual who makes a difference every day. An honor to work with them!
A Veteran and LEO buddy of mine informed me of Support Over Stigma when I ask him how I could I Help out the community.
I have been involved with Zoeie and Support Over Stigma for less than a year.
They have donated several care packages for my police Agency and family members during these difficult times. Many officers are USMC Veterans as well and are very thankful for the support.
Support Over Stigma is not some showy or pseudo NFP that milks the Veteran/First Responder Community for tax write offs. They are the real deal and are angels on earth! I wish more people were like Zoeie and Janis with Support Over Stigma!
Working with Suoport Over Stigma has been great. This organization is constantly organizing events and creating support like no other. Zoeie is phenomenal to work with. Well organized, and a great networker. Any organization would benefit from partnering with this organization. The work this organization does is well worth supporting due to the impact they have on the community they support.
I have served along side Support Over Stigma with packing events, as well as hosted charity events in their honor. This organization does so much to help our active and retired military and their families! I have many military members in my family, and many have suffered from PTSD. This is an excellent nonprofit charity and I will continue to support their cause!
I volunteered with Support Over Stigma this past summer. We were able to help a military couple with a young child to move into a new apartment instead of facing homelessness. Not only that, but we were able to help move a donation of new furniture into the apartment as well. It felt so rewarding to be able to help and to be a part of the solution to meet Veterans needs! Support Over Stigma really helps prevent people from slipping through the cracks and to coordinate positive outcomes!
100% Compassion. Support over Stigma has the biggest heart and does all they can to reach out to the folks that need it most. From keeping a 24/7 open phone line to make connections for folks to get connected when they need it most, to coordinating events and bringing in the same passion minded loving people to stand along side them to bring awareness and support. If you know someone who needs a hand, a connection, direction, or just a compassionate ear, these folks have your back. God Bless the USA.
When I read about the suicide rate among veterans I was completely shocked and was at a loss of what I could do about it. Thank God I met Zoeie Kreiner who founded Support Over Stigma and learned of the wonderful ways they help the mental health of our veterans. One way is how they provide care packages for our troops and try to bring some of the comforts of home to the men and women defending our country. In addition, they also provide support for the troops when they come home by offering to connect veterans with other veterans as mental health supporters and they do one on one help line as well.
My son is a U.S. Army veteran who served in Iraq and was injured. Zoeie and her team not only helped my son with resources so he can start fighting back with his PTSD, but they so much more. Now this isn't directly related to my son but after learning more about what they do, I couldn't help but share. Providing care packages for those that are deployed is a big deal considering there isn't a Target around the corner, and the things we may take for granite isn't available while deployed. What struck me as incredible was SOS involves the community and give those in grade school the opportunity to provide in those care packages hand written thank you card. I'm sure something as simple and that goes a long way. SOS is committed to reducing the amount of suicides each year and giving those a helping hand that served, continue to serve, and first responders. Thank YOU SOS!
At DoodleBug Workshop we have had the opportunity to work together many times. The leadership of Support Over Stigma shows a true passion for veterans and first responders. We love hosting collection drives that benefit care packages. We have even recruited the Park District, Library and City Hall to be involved in the collection drive. Support Over Stigma is an amazing addition to the community.
Support Over Stigma is an organization unlike any other that I have worked with in the nonprofit sector that helps Veterans. The level of support that this organization gives to every Veteran is truly astounding. The continual drive to help more and more Veterans in need of not just mental health support, but on other fronts like homelessness; which unfortunately also plagues this nations Veterans. There are never excuses! Only the desired results. Working together with S.O.S. has been a truly great thing! Thank you for what you do for Veterans!!!
Sincerely,

I manage a non-for-profit for homeless Veterans in the Chicagoland area. We were falling short on vital clothing and supplies to distribute to these men and women on the streets. Support Over Stigma reached out to us to provide much needed support as the pandemic stretched our inventory very thin. Zoeie from Support Over Stigma rallied donations to keep us in the fight against Veteran homelessness. We have become partners on a mission to support all the Men & Women that are currently servicing, transitioning back to civilian life, and VETERANS! Thank you Support Over Stigma for the work that you do and for supporting other organizations like Homeless Veterans In America Relief Foundation! HOOYAH!!!
While on deployment the care packages this group sent to us were fantastic. They had plenty of great snacks that made it feel like we were back in the States. The 550 paracord was a life saver though when my pack started to come apart while we were out! Was able to fashion it into something to hold the tear together. The boxes themselves were good sized and we’re shareable sized so if a guy didn’t get one, we could pass our box from this group around and everyone would feel better.
From the moment I learned about Support Over Stigma (SOS) and their efforts to help combat PTSD in veterans, and both former and active military personnel, I really wanted to help. The presence of PTSD in the military community is real.
When the US was pulling troops out of Afghanistan, there was a huge need for hydration products, protein bars, and products to help the immune systems of the soldiers to stay strong.
That’s where I knew my company, The Shaklee Corporation, could help. Shaklee‘s philanthropic arm, called Shaklee Cares, was ready to help. I worked with Zoeie Kreiner, founder of SOS, and together we were able to arrange for the delivery of an entire pallet of high quality hydration products, protein bars and supplements to support the immune system to be delivered to SOS’s warehouse.
These products were immediately repackaged and distributed to soldiers in need. Each care package not only provided nutritional support for the soldier, but also printed material about the signs/symptoms of PTSD and recommended resources for help.
Zoeie and her team were easy to work with and I feel so good about supporting her organization now and in the future.
I am a case manager who was working with a homeless Veteran. They had lost everything due to COVID and were temporarily staying in a hotel. After months of searching, they were able to find affordable housing. With the incredible support and resources that Support Over Stigma offers, we were able to get this Veteran food, clothes, beds, bedding and many other household items. I am very grateful that I was able to connect the Zoeie and her team to get the help we were in desperate need of. Absolutely wonderful organization to work with!
I worked alongside and assisted Support Over Stigma in setting up an event for them at Cantigny Park. Throughout that time I got a chance to learn about their mission and what they're all about. I cannot speak highly enough of Zoeie Kreiner who is the Founder of Support Over Stigma. She works so hard to ensure those who have served our country have the resources and help they need when it comes to mental health. I'm thankful that such an important non-profit like this exists and I look forward to working with Zoeie on more events in the future.
Support Over Stigma; what an amazing nonprofit organization! As a public safety provider for over 35 years, I see the mental health challenges our first responders experience on a daily basis. Support Over Stigma sees it too, and they are equipped to help first responders as well as our amazing veterans overcome many of these challenges. If you are a veteran or first responder and need help or know someone that does, urge them to reach out to Support Over Stigma for assistance. They're the best of the best!!!
We have worked with Support Over Stigma for over a year and are glad to partner with Zoeie Kreiner and her organization. We have found Zoeie to be truly committed to reducing the 22+ per day suicide rate of Veterans because of her son's personal losses of fellow Veterans and because we can make a difference in the lives of those who suffer from PTSD and Moral Injury. She is tireless in her efforts to make the Veterans feel honored and know that they are important and not alone.
We recently co-hosted a free, family friendly outdoor event for Veterans and their families where they could meet and network with other Veterans, Veteran owned businesses, Veteran service organizations in the area. It was such a success that we have it on the calendar to co-host again in June 2022.
We did a boxing event at our office in November and it was a great experience! We still have parents, friends and volunteers still telling us how great it was and how their kids talk about it all the time and want to help again. We did Boxes 4 the Brave for the deployed troops and care packages for the veterans. Zoeie and team did a great job organizing everything and we did over 700 packages and it was just an amazing experience & day! Would definitely recommend SOS and would love to do it again!
I’ve had the pleasure of both supporting and of being supported by Support over Stigma. Zoeie and her team have done great things in the community by providing for active military as well as veterans. I’ve always been happy to contribute to this cause, but Zoeie’s drive towers over my contributions. Zoeie and her team at SoS have and will save lives.
As members of the Legion of Honor, a group of veterans affiliated with Medinah Shriners, we wanted to send holiday packages to service personnel deployed overseas. We had funds, but not the manpower, facilities, and nor expertise to achieve our mission. Support Over Stigma offered us the opportunity to fill some forty boxes for the troops. They sealed the boxes, provided names and addresses, handled customs paperwork and shipping.
We are grateful for their assistance! First class operation!
