With very low overheads this charity sends non-lethal gear and equipment where it is needed; to the soldiers in the field. SAS makes their lives more comfortable, safer and gives them a edge to fight as they must and then return home safely.

SAS had a direct impact on my teams mission success while deployed to a combat zone. They sent us the equipment essential to be effective on the battlefield and ensure mission success. Even more impressive, they kept in touch long after me and my team returned home. Such a great organization with amazing, passionate people who have actually served on the front lines and beyond. True patriots through and through.

Serving 10 years with U.S. Army Special Operations, the terms 'family' and 'brotherhood' take on a whole new meaning. I am proud to consider SAS a part of that brotherhood, our family. They have served myself and my brothers time and time again, whatever we need to be effective and take the fight to the enemy. Just look at the board members resumes, look at all the barrel chested freedom fighters they have served, they know what they are doing and no one is more passionate. They are true to the cause, and nothing is above that. I'm forever greatful.

This group is fantastic! They donated such a generous amount of exercise equipment for our military unit overseas. Many thanks!

Support-A-Soldier made an incredibly generous donation to my unit. We live and work in relatively austere conditions and were in great need of some gym equipment. Physical Fitness is the bedrock in which soldier readiness is based and we were having difficulty in getting some gear. Barb and her team coordinated everything and made the process as easy as possible. My troops regularly let me know how much they appreciate what this fine organization has done for them and our base.

I contacted support a soldier on my last deployment to Afghanistan with the hopes of getting a helmet donated that would allow for a proper fit while wearing a headset. The helmets that were issued to us prior to leaving were too small and caused seriouse disconfort when worn with a headset underneath. Not only did support a soldier meet our request, they exceeded it by sending us each our own helmet. I can't begin to describe what a difference they made. Without the help of the amazing people on their team we would have had to choose between safety or comfort while operating. Donating to this organization truly benefits the men and woman on the front lines.

I appreciate this charity for several reasons but my two top would be because they helped out my son with some supplies he and his team needed last summer on deployment. Their support kept him from spending his money on gear the military should have given him in the first damn place. Second I like their reported low overhead so money given can mostly go right to help our guys. This is a real good group of people here and I will continue supporting them whenever I can.

They lead and speak about their cause with passion and heart and are true Patriots. It is refreshing to work with a group whose goal is to give back to those who serve and to make a difference to a soldier. They are ten years strong this year.

During my deployment to the UAE, a Support A Soldier donation was made to help purchase much needed gym equipment. Through this donation, we were able to purchase functional equipment that will be utilized to help deployed Soldiers maintain their physical fitness and combat readiness levels. Organizations such as Support A Soldier are truly making a difference, especially in situations where government funding is not available.

I am member of an military organization that has put on a Poker Run for Support A Soldier every year for the last 9 years. We donate all the proceeds of this run to them because they have an impeccable record of giving it directly back to the military that we were all a part of. Barb the founder of this nonprofit is great to work with and is genuinely concerned with the welfare of our deployed military members.

I have been volunteering with events tied to this organization for several years. After seeing the requests that our soldiers need in the field and in harms way, I had to find a way to support our soldiers. Support-A-Soldier spends few dollars on administration and the majority for the soldiers in need. I am a current donor to this organization and agree so much with their mission, I joined the Board of Directors last year.

I have 16 years of experience in Special Operations. I know that money donated to this charity goes directly to the Soldier, Airman, Sailor or Marine to increase his or her survivability on the battlefield. The volunteers, board members and vetting committee take their job very seriously to insure that people get what they need and no penny is wasted. As a seven-time combat veteran, I'm extremely proud to volunteer for SAS because of what they do. Thank you SAS for supporting the modern warfighter! Nous Defions

On one of our son's deployments to Afghanistan he reached out to Support A Soldier hoping to get ONE helmet to share with the two other JTAC's that were deployed with him. The ones they had didn't fit their headsets properly, causing discomfort and headaches. Support A Soldier went above and beyond and sent three, yes THREE helmets so the guys would each have one, making their deployment a little safer all the way around. When your son is fighting for our country’s freedom and an organization helps ensure his safety, there simply are no words to describe the heart of gratitude for that organization. If you haven't done so, follow them on Facebook and check out their website. You will be impressed by all they have done for our troops. They are truly an organization that stands out above others.

I have been a volunteer for Support a Soldier for their golf tournaments. The love and respect and appreciation they have for our military is remarkable. Some of the group has family members in the military and some do not but it does not matter. They all work together for their cause and its been great to watch them interact with the public to get their message out. People seem to love this organization and the people who run it. It truly is their labor of love for out troops. They have become my personal choice for a charity and I do recommend them to others.

As one of the board members of SAS and as a former special operations soldier I can say that this organization is unique in its support of soldiers. It sends non-lethal gear and equipment to soldiers actually in harm's way that often provides better or more focused mission oriented items than issued. This in turn better provides for their safety and efficiency when engaged in combat areas of operations. In short, SAS provides that "edge" that often makes the difference.

While deployed my unit was short a few necessities and due to lack of time and budget I decided to reach out. We needed emergency care equipment for our Military Working Dogs. Barb from Support-A-Soldier was able to get what we needed in such a timely and easy manor. The equipment she supplied was distributed out to multiple hospitals through out Afghanistan so they could provide the appropriate care to our fearless canines. We all appreciate you and what you're doing!!! Thank you so very much again!!!

Support A soldier filled an absolutely essential supply request for my team. After normal army supply chains were unable to equip my team with items we required to make our sniper riffles and sniper team operational, Support A soldier was able to equip us. We have already used this equipment on multiple successful missions. To include a mission where our snipers saved the lives of six service members by spotting and shooting an enemy who was shooting an 82mm recoil less rifle at a friendly position.

When my unit was alerted to deploy in response to the recent Iraq problem, we were lacking both time and equipment. Support A Soldier was there, and helps us tremendously. With so many great people, who still believe in the US Military and want to donate, this is truly the best avenue. The donations go to what the soldiers need. The process is also very streamlined and geared towards the service member and the deploying unit. I can't speak highly enough of Support-A- Soldier.
