This organization is absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure these children know that they are cared about and loved.
Children that have lost one or more of their parents, have lost a significant part of them self.
Knowing that Sunshine Thru the rain activity has outings and brings them together so they do not feel alone or different. This is a year round blessing and keeps them motivated to know they can move on and not be afraid of tomorrow’s rain, because the sun will shine again. It’s through the bonds they make here that will last them a lifetime.

Sunshine thru the rain has been the best nonprofit organization that has became family to us after losing a love one we felt down with out no energy for anything and Sunshine ☀️ has been there every second.
I’ve been with Sunshine Thru The Rain for about 2 months now,I was asked to call and speak with Mrs Joann after I heard about all of the great things that this non profit organization offers but more so,helping children who has loss a parent.

I am currently raising 2 beautiful children ages who loss they’re mom and 3 siblings,the first outing with the kids it was like the people and the kids were family,they welcomed me and the kids with open arms we shared a few similarities we talked,fellowship,etc
It’s not always the giving but Mrs Joann was most concern about the children and adults,she reaches out just to say hey I was just thinking of you guys and people will forget what you’ve said,and done but WE will never forget how Sunshine Thru The Rain made us feel!

Five years ago my son was killed and my two granddaughters lost their father. I am so thankful for this organization and the founder Joanne Diaz. This organization has helped my granddaughters through the grieving process, able to bring joy back into the girls lives, laughter and a small back on their face.
Sunshine Thru the Rain a nonprofit organization is absolutely Amazing with Kids of all ages...The Director is a Wonderful person who goes the extra mile to make sure the Families are have a Great time in any event that they are having. I would Highly recommend them to anyone.
Sunshine Thru The Rain has a tremendous ministry with helping children who have lost one or both parents to death. Making this population of kids feel seen, heard, and loved. I am beyond blessed to be associated with such a phenomenal non-profit.
I volunteer for some of the activities. People are always so touched when they hear about what Sunshine Thru the Rain does for the children. The children that have lost one or both patents. I can’t imagine what that must do to a child. Sunshine Thru the Rain gives them so many activities that they wouldn’t have on their own. They get to be with other kids that are going through the same emotions; loss of hope, uncertain future, missing their parents SO much… It’s something you have to have been through to understand and theses poor children understand it all too well.
I’m honored to be able to volunteer for such an generous, selfless organization with only one thing in mind; giving hope, inspiration and encouragement to these children.
Sunshine thru the rain has definitely had a positive impact on my children’s life. We lost my husband, their father December 7, 2020 to a pedestrian hit and run. Sunshine thru the rain has helped my children and myself by helping when we needed it the most, when we had no hope. My children love sunshine through the rain because they have other children to talk and play with who understand what they are going through. They love attending the events and have so much fun with the other children. I love that I am starting to see that spark being brought back to their eyes and Sunshine thru the rain has definitely been a big part of that!
After her sister died the founder Joanne discovered a void of services to help kids cope with such a traumatic loss. She is passionate about providing the kids with events to make new memories with peers who understand what they are experiencing. What a beautiful way to develop compassion in young kids, and to safely grieve.
I met Joanne thru networking and volunteered to help her with her annual gift wrapping fundraiser. She was doing it all herself. Mall hours, open to close for 2 weeks straight! She's committed to its success no matter what it takes!
Since then we've implemented systems to schedule and coordinate volunteers.
My daughter lost her dad to suicide 5 years ago. In that time, Sunshine Thru the Rain has provided her much needed emotional support and community. Because of Sunshine Thru the Rain, my daughter no longer feels alone in her loss.
This nonprofit is one of my favorite to volunteer with. I love seeing the difference they make in these children's lives, not only through experiences but becoming a family all together.
I’ve been to several of the events and this is an absolutely amazing group. Everyone involved is kind and caring and fully dedicated to helping these kids.
We have had several families that we have referred to Sunshine Thru the Rain - these were kids that lost a parent or two and felt lost and deeply depressed.
This organization gave life to these kids and has helped them get involved on special outings and events with other children going through the same thing. Truly meaningful times of joy to these kids. I would highly recommend getting involved with this organization. Any way possible.
