I love volunteering here. It's so rewarding taking care of the dogs, making sure they've all been on a walk, we even take them over to a little park with a pond that really enjoy going to. It can also be so calming just to go and relax in the cat room after a day of walking dogs. This shelter is so friendly and everyone really cares about the animals in their care.

This is the cleanest shelter I have ever seen! Huge cat room with lots of happy cats just ready for you to interact with. The dog kennels are kept clean and the dogs look so happy here, they are always out playing in a play yard in groups. This is so nice to come and visit the animals.

I love this shelter! This shelter is always so clean and beautiful, the staff is very friendly and you can tell the animals are loved just like their own pets here. The dogs and cats are so happy and healthy, I love to go there and just sit in their cat room to visit with the cats. They are funded only by donations and sales at their thrift shop (which I donate to all the time).

Excellent experience! The shelter is clean and the animals all look happy and well cared for. There are multiple yards for exercising and socializing the dogs and the cats have an open community room where they can all free roam. Customer service is great and I love their matchmaking process for adoptions. Definitely will be recommending Sun Valley to anyone looking to adopt.

I have had the privilege of being a dog volunteer at this beautiful facility since 2009.
I love being able to interact with so many different types of dogs, and to know that each one will have a home at this no-kill shelter until a perfect fur-ever home is found for him/her. Each dog has his/her own inside and outside kennel, that the staff works very hard to keep clean and fresh through out the day. All the staff members clearly love their work, and it shows in the gentle and personal care they provide these "orphans of the desert". I really appreciate that the shelter management continually works to modernize and make new additions to the facility, such as new kennel doors, covered play yards with lush artificial turf, misters, and security system upgrades. The atmosphere in the shelter is very positive and it is a joy to be a part of it.

I have been a volunteer at Sun Valley Animal Shelter since August, 2010 as a dog walker. I enjoy my time with the many dogs that are available here at the shelter. The staff is great as well as my fellow volunteers, and of course, the available dogs (and cats).

Sun Valley Animal Shelter is a great place for all the dogs and cats looking for their forever homes. Being a no kill shelter, all of the animals can stay as long as they need to until they find their new families. The cat community room is filled with so many things for the cats to do to keep them healthy and happy. The dogs have a bunch of large play yards with turf so they have a safe, fun place to play in groups and in the pools, Sun Valley clearly has the best interest in these sweet animals and do everything they can to make their stay more enjoyable. I highly recommend Sun Valley Animal Shelter if you're looking for a new furry friend.

I love Sun Valley Animal Shelter! All of their animals are healthy and happy and the shelter is so clean and kept up in beautiful condition. The kitten we adopted from them was very socialized and was already neutered and up to date on its shots, we didn't have to do anything medically on him! We received a large goody bag with a bed and toys, scratch pads and food bowls. The employees here really love their animals. I would recommend this nonprofit to anyone that is looking to adopt a cat or a dog, they really match you up with an animal that is a fit to your home and family.

I’ve been in this place 3 times looking for a cat. I’ve been through 2 interviews and even brought my children to see the kitty. I’ve been told that for an interview you could take the animal home the same day. Now another counselor told me they will hold onto the application until they have several more and then call us back after 2 weeks to a month!! So much miss communication! They even refused a dog that a couple were trying to surrender. I probably will find that dog along side the road on my way home
