Mission: Summer in the city strives to improve and expand community service in metro detroit. By bringing a diverse group of young people together to invest their energy in detroit, summer in the city programs address the immediate needs of city neighborhoods and foster a regional mindset.
Programs: Play: the organizations operates tutoring, summer camps, sports camps, and other educational programs for the youth of detroit.
paint: the organization works with community groups to identify high visibility locations that can be improved with murals and then designs, paints, and maintains these murals.
plant: the organization facilitates opportunities for volunteers to work in community gardens, including those operated by the organization.
