I began volunteering with Ann Marie and Keith for several years and during that time I saw the love and dedication they showed all the animals everyday. Every project and process that was happening on the farm was in the goal of improving the quality of life for everyone there. They have truly dedicated their lives to caring for every animal there, even when they aren’t sure how they’ll make ends meet they still carry a open heart and welcoming view. Every time I donate food or funds it’s used 100% towards the farms quality of life improvements.
This is the first place I learned what quality care for animals can and should look like. This place is still the best most well kept facility with animals I’ve ever seen in my life and I’ve done my best to travel around and visit farms. I cannot express in words the amount of effort and care that goes into this facility. The people that run it are some of the best people I’ve met in my life. Thank you:)
My family has had the honor of living next door to Annmarie for the past 7 years! The time, love, and devotion she puts into her animals is above all else. She does not get a day off, nor does she take a vacation. She works from sun up to sun down to make sure her animals have the best life possible. I have called on her many times for help and advice with my own animals and she never hesitates to help any way she can. I don't know of anyone more deserving than Annmarie and her rescue.
I first read about Sugarloaf Mountain Rescue in a press article a few years ago. It was so inspiring to read about how Ann Marie has given her life and her everything to giving these neglected or rejected animals a forever home. She really does it all every day by herself. She is a one-woman show!
I've donated money to her when I can and I have driven by to drop off resources whenever I have something useful to share or to give. On my first visit she saw me pull up and ran out to welcome me and thank me for my donations. She let me see the animals in the front area (the turkeys are always super friendly!) but said it's hard to invite people back to see more because of the sensitive nature of the animals and liability concerns. I have tried to find ways to get her volunteers to help her but those same concerns always restrict how welcoming she can be to outsiders - which must make it hard for her.
After knowing her for a couple years I did bring my children by once and she let us come in and she gave us a tour. My kids were so inspired by all her animals and how happy they seemed - and by how she cares for them every day - and her very kind nature. They really want to come help her one day when and if she can welcome them in to help.
Ann Marie is often finding discarded animals, sick or injured, and while she cannot take them all, she does everything she can to care for them and find them a home, if not with her then elsewhere. People started throwing cats, even pregnant cats, over her fence and at the time she didn't know anything about caring for cats so I leaned in to help there.
When I was working for NBC Universal, I shared her story at GOLF Channel during Women's History month as a Woman I Admire. She truly is worthy of admiration. What she does is amazing - largely on her own - and any additional support she can get goes straight to the animals and their care and well-being. This is a fantastic non-profit to support as there's no bureaucracy or overhead - just Ann Marie being an angel here on Earth!
I have volunteered at Sugarloaf Mountain Ranch more than once a week for 10 years. I have spent several hundred hours helping care for the animals and helping with chores. This is the most amazing farm animal rescue you can imagine. All the animals (about 400) are healthy and happy. Every nook and cranny is always clean. I have seen so many animals rescued from situations of abuse and distress. Each one, within a few weeks has returned to health and well being. If you love animals, but don’t have time to donate, you can’t do better than to make a generous donation of funds to Sugarloaf Mountain Ranch. Every last penny you send will go directly to care for the animals, along with love that no money can buy.
AnnMarie is so awesome . I’m so grateful for all the hard work she puts in day in day out . Words can’t describe how much she loves all those Beautiful animals . Thank you AnnMarie!
The Sugarloaf Mountain Ranch, is absolutely beautiful and breath taking, When I first met Annmarie and Keith they were so kind to tour me around the property. You can tell these hundreds of animals are so well taken care of by how Annmarie talks about them, I felt like I was meeting family not animals!
They care for Goats, Pigs, Emus and plenty more. It's wonderful to see how much time, effort and love has gone into Sugarloaf Mountain Ranch and it shows the dedication they've upheld over the years through bad storms and dry spells, these sweet animals are well looked after by the amazing Roberts!
This nonprofit is a great cause because they give their animals a second chance, when others have given up. So much love and uplifting joy is shown on their Facebook Page so give them a follow and check them out there as well!
Our neighbors Keith and Ann Marie Roberts have opened up their home at Sugarloaf Mountain Ranch to many abused, sick and abandoned animals over the years. They have sacrificed so much time and personal resources in order to care for these animals giving them medical care as well as emotional stability that many had never received. I have personally been to the farm and can give witness to the extraordinary cleanliness and the attention to detail to ensure that every animal lives out their life in the most loving, healthy and comfortable setting possible.
Unbelievably, every animal whether a pig, goat, horse, cow, emu, alpaca, peacock, turkey....is given a name. Remarkably, Ann Marie can call the animals by name and they respond. Certain times of the day animals come out of their enclosures and socialize with each other. -Crazy to see a pig and an alpaca hanging out and eating together cultivating true friendships.
Here is one story that will give you an insight into Ann Marie's dedication. During Hurricane Irma, the winds were threatening the animal enclosures. She went outside to assess and was pinned up against a fence by the high velocity of the wind. Literally, she was being held there. Her husband, Keith, had to rescue her by pulling her off the fence.
If you are looking for a nonprofit to invest in, Sugarloaf Mountain Ranch, Inc would gratefully accept any support. Mostly, their rescue farm is run out of their own funds.

AnnMarie is an angel here on Earth. She cares for well over 300 animals every single day. She cares for their daily needs, gives care for the sick animals dropped on her door and has taken in the unwanted, thrown away animals that people get one minute and throw away the next, and given them a home, lots of love and steady meals. Please help her to feed and care for all these animals, so they can live a good and decent life. Check out her site and get to know all the animals that she cares for, you will not regret it! www.sugarloafmountainrescue.org
Where do unwanted, abused, neglected farm animals go? If they are lucky, they end up with AnnMarie and Keith at Sugarloaf Mountain Ranch. These two feed, love, and care for over 300 farm animals that have ended up in their path. Some were dumped over their fence, some were taken in when the original owners could no longer care for them, some were rescued from horrible conditions. These two angels spend all their own money and all of their time making sure these sweet animals hav all they need to have a good life.
Please check out their Facebook page and / or web site to see the good work they are doing. It's God's work.
Any help you can give will not go to waste. It all goes to the animals. They need her and she needs us to help.
