Mission: Street democracy works to create legal mechanisms that address the root causes of homelessness and poverty, through the defense of human and civil rights as secured by law and the establishment of economic and housing development models that combat and correct the origins of community deterioration, a condition that leads to and exacerbates homelessness and poverty
Programs: In 2017, street democracy represented over 38 homeless clients in 101 matters saving them over $120,000, worked to reopen a homeless court in detroit, and piloted a functional sentencing project in hamtramck
