Caring and dedicated staff and volunteers. Takes a lot of hard work to care for the dogs and find them homes. Rain, snow or shine, they are out there working for the betterment of dog lives.
We have adopted two dogs from Straydog ! This organization leads a grassroots campaign to save homeless dogs in a rural east Texas area. Their nonstop dedication, care and love has saved the lives of countless dogs and matched each dog to loving homes for families ready to adopt a new furry friend. Straydog has the blueprint on how to save homeless dogs lives!
My wife & I have been supporting Straydogs for almost 15 years. When we first heard about what they do & how they take in all dogs, many can never be adopted, we were thrilled. I have played in all but 1 of the golf tournaments & have had a great time. This is one of the best no kill shelters anywhere.
We have supported Straydog for over 17 years and this organization remains one of the best shelters I have come across. The philosophy of its founder, Pat Arnold, continues today although Pat sadly passed away suddenly In 2003. The mission of compassion touches every dog that is lucky enough to land at Straydog. Every one of the 165+ dogs is treated every day with respect and as a loved family member. I can’t say enough positive things about Straydog. As long as this organization exists, I will continue my support.
Straydog has the biggest heart for dogs that others have given up on. They do work no other organization in the area does. The team works tirelessly to find great homes for their dogs, and provides a safe, living sanctuary for dogs that can’t be adopted out.
Straydog helps other dogs that no one else will. The staff is great - they truly love the dogs as if they were members of their own family.
Straydog is an amazing sanctuary whose focus is totally on the welfare of each and every dog in their care. The employees are passionate and go above and beyond their daily responsibilities- they love on these pups as if they were their own. Straydog financials are reviewed and audited. Every donated cent is used for the care of the animal’s for food, shelter and medical care. The facility is amazing with large dog runs, special housing for old and special needs dog’s, a large park with trees and water pools, and another small park for ‘the littles ’ with trees and a picnic table.
I have supported Straydog for 22 years. They are a wonderful no-kill rescue and sanctuary in east Texas. Wlmy husband and i have adopted 8 dogs from them and they have all been wonderful, sweet and loving.
The dogs at Straydog are treated like family. They are loved and cherished by the staff. The shelter director is simply the heart and soul of the organization. She treats and loves all of the dogs as if they were her own. If only every shelter was like Straydog.
Straydog does amazing work saving and caring for animals that otherwise would have no where else to go. They take in animals that others have abandoned. They find homes for as many as they can, and provide a sanctuary for those dogs that cannot be re-homed. The staff devotes all of their time and energy into caring for the animals, and you can tell that their hearts are truly in it for the dogs.
Review from Guidestar
I have been a financial contributor to this no-kill animal shelter for many years due to the quality and dedication of their mission of rehabilitating and placing animals in "forever homes". Their website at straydog.org provides all the information one would need. In my opinion, a real bunch of heroes whose dedication comes from their genuine love of dogs.
