My mom has volunteered serving lunch since the 1980’s. When I retired 5 years ago, I had a desire to volunteer at a pregnancy resource center, which Stowe didn’t have. Yet! I immediately started helping out with lunch with my mom, volunteered in the dental clinic, and then the Lord provided an ultrasound machine to Stowe, and thus was born the pregnancy resource center, so I was able to keep all my volunteering at Stowe! My daughter and grandkids also help serve lunch, so now we have four generations, by the grace of God! Our church community groups have also served at the Christmas toy giveaway for several years. I can tell you we all get so much more out of volunteering than we give. It’s a privilege and joy to serve others in the name of Christ. Stowe has been and continues to be a beacon shining the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the community! ❤️

Our church has had the opportunity to serve here several times. Each time has been a blessing, more for us than for those whom we’ve got to serve. There is much much more that Stowe has to offer than a free meal. And more importantly, everything they offer is paired with the hope that is found in Christ.

Stowe Mission is so much more than I ever envisioned or knew. I was looking for volunteer opportunities for myself and some colleagues who had been laid off together. They opened their doors for us and gave us an opportunity to have positive experiences in a low time. They offer lunch during the week to those in need. You could tell that many of the guests were "Regulars" and the gratitude to us for offering our services was felt in every interaction with those receiving a meal. The Mission has medical, dental, eye and mental health clinics. They offer parenting support and supplies for expecting moms. They even bring in health trailers such as the breathing association. This is on top of a food pantry, religious support if desired, homework support. It seems they have hit it all for their community. I have gone back a few times and brought my children twice to volunteer. Children often think they "go without" or don't realize their blessings. This helped opened my teens eyes and allowed them to give back with gifts of service. Stowe Mission is incredible! The staff is genuine, compassionate and full of care and concern.

Every experience I have had volunteering with Stowe Mission has been great because of the people I've gotten to work with from Stowe and the mission behind the organization. The people are kind and friendly and they care a lot about the community, which is evident through their variety services and their personal interactions with individuals who come to Stowe. Sometimes the volunteer tasks have seemed trivial (such cleaning rooms in the pregnancy resource center) but the staff at Stowe have made it clear how those tasks serve the people in the community and how that contributes to the mission of bringing gospel hope.

I’ve volunteered in the Stowe Pregnancy Resource Center for over a year now. I am so grateful to have found this mission center and know the people who work & volunteer there. It is clear Stowe is an organization working to share the love of God to the people of Columbus. The volunteers and staff truly care about the people they serve, and while they do all they can to meet physical needs, more importantly they desire for them to know the love of Jesus and come into a real relationship with him.

My first experience with Stowe Mission was when I volunteered in their Pregnancy Resource Center; I was sort of like a 'secret shopper'. I posed as a woman who was pregnant and in crisis to help train the volunteers in the clinic. Everyone was warm and caring; knowledgeable and nonjudgemental. I know that the women who come to Stowe's PRC will be treated with the same care I was when I came in for my 'appointment'. Their PRC is an extension of their amazing organization; Stowe Mission truly cares about people and helps all regardless of race, gender, religious beliefs. They love on them all as Jesus Christ did; they value the Gospel of Jesus Christ being shared with all people.

I've been volunteering with Stowe since I was a child, and it has left a lasting impact. Theres so many ways you can serve those in our community, and Stowe meets those needs and more. The staff at Stowe strives to connect with volunteers and the community. Every time I volunteer at Stowe it feels like a home to all who's there.

It does my heart good to see an organization like Stowe at work in our community.
I’m very impressed with the variety of free services provided there. These include not only medical and dental care, but also mental health care. In addition, Stowe provides education, in the form of tutoring for children, and parenting and pregnancy education for adults. Primary challenges for many neighbors in the community include food and hygiene. To help meet these, Stowe provides daily lunches and hygiene blessing bags.
Besides providing ministries through their own facilities, Stowe reaches out through other organizations. Through our church, Stowe collected hats, gloves, and blankets to provide to neighbors in the cold winter months, and helped to furnish an apartment, for a formerly homeless family.
The church at Stowe provides a place for people to worship, while learning about Christianity. However ministries are shared with neighbors, regardless of religious convictions.

I first became acquainted with Stowe Mission of Central Ohio 4 years ago and am AMAZED at the scope of their services. As a clinical social worker practicing in Dayton, Ohio, I just wish we had such a gem of an organization in Dayton as well! I am so pleased to see that Stowe ministers to a wide variety of human needs (FOR FREE!) including mental health care, dental care, medical care, tutoring and mentoring children, daily lunches, parenting/pregnancy education, hygiene blessing bags, and so much more! My husband and I have been fortunate enough to volunteer on special occasions like their Christmas toy giveaway and have seen the blessings Stowe creates for their community. Stowe Church also provides a place for people to gather and learn about Christianity, but blessings are shared with neighbors regardless of religious preference or creed. My family wholeheartedly supports the many works of Stowe Mission. (The form below has me identify myself - wish I could pick all three that apply - professional in this field, volunteer, and donor)

I began volunteering at Stowe 5 years ago and absolutely love it. They clearly believe those they serve are valuable, capable individuals and treat them as such. They do a great job of meeting physical needs while keeping the Gospel and the love of Jesus at the heart of all they do. It's been a joy to serve here.
