Mission: Store to door is a private nonprofit corporation founded in 1989. Its mission is to support independent living for portland area seniors and adults with disabilities by providing an affordable, personal, volunteer- based grocery shopping and delivery service. The goals are to: 1) help more homebound seniors and adults with disabilities maintain their independence; 2) increase their social supports; and 3) access additional low-cost or no-cost services that support aging in place. Store to door's vision is for the portland area to be a community where all seniors and people with disabilities are nourished, included and can age with dignity in a setting of their own choice.

The people in the Office are nice but the Delivery Drivers....many of them are thieves. I've watched one open up the trunk and the box that was to be delivered to me.....the Driver... took out items ...put them in a sack ,that the Driver then put up front, next to the Driver's seat and proceded to deliver to me not a box of groceries but a pint of milk , corn flakes and 4 eggs in a cut off carton ....that's it ....not even 1 sack of groceries....let alone the box (that looked full )they came in. They need food too I guess. You can tell the crooks from the honest Ones....They are well fed looking if not overweight and the thin Ones tend to show up and GIVE you a couple of sacks or box of much needed Groceries.....except for 1 thin One who is stealing the food for her kid. I haven't complained because I don't know who is all in on doing this crummy behavior and I need what little they don"t want.... for me.One Male and Female are REALLY bad at doing it. Once I received 2 cans of fruit cocktail and a pint of milk....that's it. The person nervously looked up at me ....seeming to wonder if I realized what was happening..... I'm grateful for Food that I can eat....I think there is a special place in Hell for people who can drive to a Store and get Food and instead take from shut Ins and the Handicapped who can't or it's difficult for them to get out. "Every Dog has his Day"...."What goes around ,comes around". I have a Camera out front....if only the Thieves knew....

You have aging parents, they want to stay independent as long as possible. Store to Door shops and delivers groceries to those who can no longer shop for themselves. The volunteers are amazing and the attention to detail is five star. they double and triple check the orders to make sure no one is disappointed. Rain or shine or snow or ? Store to Dooor is on the road taking care of those in need. I have been a shopper volunteer for 4 years and this group does an excellent job.
