Steel Beam Theater Company

Programs: Theatrical productions - now in its seventeenth season, sbt main stage presents seven full length works, (september - june) with additional summer programming, and special guest artist presentations. Over the years well over 150,000 attendees have enjoyed a steel beam production. Sbt has produced five world premiere plays. Each year, sbt also produces 4-6 productions for general public and student audiences, providing area youth (ages 5-16) the opportunity to audition, rehearse and perform while learning theatre crafts. Beyond our main stage performances, sbt offers free staged readings of new works, including post-reading audience discussions with playwright and cast.

theatre education and outreach - sbt youth theatre education programming teaches story-centric theatre arts education that emphasizes collaboration, invention and transformation, while prepping students to perform with skill and confidence. Youth education classes are offer to ages 5-16 year round, through the sbt studio, a nurturing environment for students where they can explore, be challenged and grow in performance skills. The creative process is a key focus to develop characters and strong performance skills as part of the steel beam mission to bring high-quality theatrical training to the community and groups such as the girl scouts of america. Special summer programming for ages 6-10, 11-13 and 14-19 features improvisational storytelling to create unique theatrical productions.

looking for an intimate auditorium space for your troupe, group, or production? Or looking to host a scout badge workshop? The beam's performance space has hosted many girl scout workshops to immerse scouts in theatre and performance. Steel beam theatre offers a perfect space for traditional plays, musicals, dance and other performance art, as well as stand up comedy and comedy troupes, business lectures/events, and talent shows. Theatre space can be rented for limited times when our stage is dark, during weekdays and weeknights, or for late night weekend performances. Theatre space at the beam offers four tiered rows of seats, a light/sound booth, and a full grid of theatre lights.
