I just want to thank the Start Right Community Development Corporation for doing their part in helping our community. I truly believe they are the missionaries of the community. They are always willing to roll up their sleeves and do whatever is needed to make our community thrive, whether it be, feeding the hungry, cutting the lawns in the vacant lots or providing recreation and guidance to our young people, Start Right has always been about the betterment of the neighborhood. I am not knocking certain organizations, schools or churches, but I am appalled when they moved into our neighborhoods and ignore the needs of the people. Most of the organizations do very little outreach and therefore the residents do not know they even exist. These organizations fail to reach out to the residents because they believe they aren't the right kind of people. I am not making this up because I have witnessed it with my own eyes and this is why I am very impressed with Start Right. The many projects and accomplishments of Start Right speaks volumes. Our neighborhood is looking more and more like the suburbs where many of us wanted to live when we first purchased our homes. We really need missionaries in our communities because we matter, too. Thanks to Start Right for its many good works!

I want to thank this organization for doing such a great job in improving the community in which I live. For several years The Start Right Community Development Corporation has rolled up its sleeves to assist many people in need. Their foodbank makes sure that people in the community will not go without food. Poverty is a terrible situation to be in especially when it affects our children. Many families in our neighborhood often need food in the middle or end of the month. The summer camp program /vacation Bible school also provided food for many children in community. This program was essential because not only did it feed so many young people it also served as a summer camp for children who parents could not afford to send their children to traditional summer camps. Providing a summer camp kept our children active and gave them a safe place to learn, play and grow. The camp was unique because most free summer camp programs only last a week however this particular camp lasted the entire summer. This is unheard of in most underserved communities. The children played sports, games, crafts, and learned valuable soft skills to assist them in the future. I am pleased to have a organization that takes into consideration the needs of its residents. This organization advocates for the underserved because our city has a habit of ignoring certain neighborhoods. Start Right Corporation assist in keeping the lawns and vacant lots cut, It also works hard to refurbish unsightly vacant homes and make a point of putting these homes back on the market and thus beautifying our neighborhoods. Just recently Start Right has taken on the responsibility of bringing new homes to a forgotten and ignored community. Its efforts will bring a sense of pride to our neighborhood and increase the property values of the residents who invest so much in their homes/communities. Thank you Start Right and I hope you continue to advocate for our community.

Our church, Holy Trinity Family Center in Cleveland, Ohio, appreciate the help we received from the Start Right Community Development Corporation. The corporation supplied the flooring material needed to upgrade and beautify our prayer room and one of our kitchens. It also supplied the vanity for one of our ladies' restrooms.

I've had an opportunity to work with this CDC since 2008. Their programs have continued to meet the needs of the Caledonia community families. For instance when the neighborhood library closed; a summer feeding program was created to help fill that void; it provided a safe place for grade school kids. This relationship lead to the insight that food disparity goes beyond summer. Thus began the creation of our self-choice Hunger Center. Presently we've adapted this resource to a curb side pickup allowing us to still assist families during this time of our global pandemic. I'm proud to be a member of this team!

Start Right CDC has worked to eliminated hungry children in Cuyahoga County. Several food baskets are given during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. There is now a partnership with the Cleveland Food Bank. 3 days worth of food will be issued to needy families once a month. There is also a seven week youth camp to help feed school aged children who won't have access to the free school lunch program during the summer
