As a cancer patient and caregiver, I know all too well the struggles one faces after a cancer diagnosis. I can’t think of anything more worthwhile than to ease the burden anyone faces during a life-changing diagnosis. START HEALING Foundation provides this. It is our hope and dream to provide as much support as possible.
SHF is a great resource available to those in need of their services during a difficult time. SHF has helped people in need, and in today’s world, we need as much positivity & optimism as possible.
As a single mother and a cancer patient it was a challenge to do the basics around the house. As a recipient to family dinners for a year, it allowed me to just sit and enjoy my two daughters who were too young to understand why mommy who loved to cook couldn’t. I am forever grateful for that help. Our family time is priceless.

Start healing has been so helpful and kind, reassuring and present in the moment. Having cancer is hard, stressful and can sometimes feel burdensome but SHF has been though the difficult, arduous times as such to be there, to heal and to help. When life’s walls seem that much smaller, start healing is a breath of fresh air!
SHF helped me by having my home cleaned every month during the time I had my Diagnosis and surgeries. It was extremely helpful because my home was clean and my mother who was taking care of me all the time had less to worry about. SVF also cleaned her home too and she was blown away by how nice it looked. It really lifted our spirits during a difficult time. Thanks so much SHF!! Start Healing Foundation is an impressive and amazing organization that gives back to patients and families in very personal ways. The organization was founded and operated by someone that has very personal experience with cancer. Being a survivor herself, the organization serves each person/family with such intention, purpose and understanding for the individual needs of each applicant. The encouragement to find healing and peace through the use of art makes this organization unique and inspiring. My husband and I are honored and fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute to this organization.
I have seen the work this organization has done for cancer patients and their families. As a cancer survivor I wish I had A foundation like this available for me while I was living the recovery process. The healing process for cancer patients is exhausting, grueling and overwhelming. This foundation helps cancer patients and their family by adding and providing love , assistance and care at a time when it is most needed.
It’s inspiring to see a survivor look back at their experience and find a way to create generosity, kindness and care through art for others who are currently in the process of healing.
