I set up a program to collect hygiene kits to be distributed to kids that need them at my school. Thank you so much for helping me get established and on my way to becoming a 501c3

I applied and was given for a grant to finish my project of collecting blankets and stuffed animals for Project Night Night. With that grant I was able to purchase additional blankets and paid for the shipping of the huge box. We were able to help to make at least 50 care packages for homeless children. Thank you Start A Snowball, Inc. for granting me this!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to apply for a grant. It is because of your generosity that I am going to be able to continue to make my coloring kits for doctor's offices and schools. My Mom is a teacher and a single parent, so without your generous donation I would not have had the money to continue to buy the materials to create my kits. I have seen my mother apply for grants for her classroom, so I was so excited when I found out that that there was a place that gave children like me the chance to apply for a grant too. I hope that with your help I can make people more aware of how to prevent bullying. Thank you again so much! You can learn more about my anti-bullying campaign at www.emmasbecomebrave.com
THANK YOU for helping me help others.

As part of their b'nai mitzvah, my children wanted to do a mitzvah project. My requirement was that they could not ask people for money. They resourcefully applied for a grant from Start a Snowball and were thrilled when they got it! They got a treasure chest and filled it with prizes for the kids at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. This will be something that they can refill over and over again. We will take pictures when we deliver it!

What a fabulous way for young people to get a hand-up with their philanthropy and service projects. My 12 year old applied and was absolutely thrilled to have been awarded this grant. It enabled him to continue what was already a successful project collecting dvd's and video games for the local Children's Hospital. In addition, he was also able to donate movies to a local family shelter. It bolstered his self esteem and has made him even more determined to pay it forward! Start A Snowball, Inc. is an amazing non profit that deserves to be recognized as a steppingstone to continued greatness for kids!

I found this link on Facebook and decided to have my son apply for the grant since he is working on his Eagle Project for the Boy Scouts of America. My son Tyler will be making 200 no-sew blankets and donating gently used books and magazines all wrapped up for the holidays. I am very impressed with Start a Snowball ' s generosity and quick response. Thank you for helping my son reach his goal of $4000. It is truly amazing to have organizations who specifically help kids. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
Love,
The Anderson Family

Start a Snowball helped me gather much need supplies that were donated through my foundation that helps support Foster Children in WV. With their help I was able to help impact so many foster kids as they started their school year. As a teenager I was worried that non-profits may not support my cause but Start a Snowball supported snd I can not wait to do more projects!!

Start a Snowball is the most meaningful non-profit I have been involved with. It is an honor and pleasure to serve on the Board. Start a Snowball gives seed money grants to children who want to start their own community service project. Theses grants enable the kids to turn an idea and a desire to help into an action plan. Watching these children's ideas snowball is incredibly rewarding. Start a Snowball is living up to their mission of building a generation of givers.

Thank you so much for the grant. I'm super excited to help my middle school kids learn how to make blankets, scarves and hats for the homeless in our community, but more importantly to teach them about service to others.

I received one of the first Start a Snowball grants, and I will always be grateful to Start a Snowball for supporting me and my anti-bullying work. Thanks to Start a Snowball, I was able to facilitate programs in middle school classrooms in rural Arizona.

In all of my interactions with Start a Snowball, I have been nothing short of impressed by their dedication to inspiring young people to be the change that they want to see in the world. Start a Snowball is, in my mind, one of the few organizations that truly walks their talk.

Many thanks to Start a Snowball for all that they have done for me, and continue to do for young people across the country.

My friend and I applied for a grant to help us be able to purchase an outdoor bulletin board for a local Hispanic mission we serve and materials to build a stand for it.

Just a week after we applied, we heard back! :) I was very impressed by their quickness to respond. I love that they are giving kids an opportunity to impact the world!

I totally recommend Start A Snowball to every kid out there!

Thanks so much Start A Snowball!

My daughter and her friend applied for a Start A Snowball grant and received money to hire a graphic designer who helped them design and create a brochure for a new nonprofit in our area.

The girls thought of the idea, submitted the grant application, and followed-up with the designer completely on their own.

I was impressed at how quickly we received the response from Start A Snowball, and I am thrilled with all the girls learned through this experience. I highly recommend Start A Snowball for kids, teens, classrooms, and youth groups.

Thanks, Start A Snowball!

My daughter received a grant from Start A Snowball for her service group, the Bundle Up Club. Their newest endeavor, Project Baby Bundle, which was partially funded by this grant, will provide handmade blankets and hats to needy families with young children. We're so thankful for the grant we received for this project, and are happy to report that we will be able to provide 115 kids ages 0-3 years with a hat and blanket this winter. Start A Snowball is a great organization and we're thankful for what they do!

My daughters used funds from Start-A-Snowball to operate Maggie to Mylee's Lemonade Stand. The funds allowed them to initiate and run their stand to raise $800.00 for Children's hospital, $1200.00 in books for a local school library in honor of a teacher diagnoised with breast cancer, and most recently $1500.00 to purchase Christmas presents for foster children in our county. They were so excited to have their efforts supported by Start-A-Snowball! It is amazing what our youth can accomplish with a little encouragement and positive support!!! This is a great organization!

My son applied for a Start-A Snowball grant and received one right away! It's hard for kids, especially young ones, to find organizations willing to support them from the ground up - that's what Start-A-Snowball does. Start-A-Snowball turns ideas into reality, and inspires kids to be lifelong philanthropists. Terrific organization that really accomplishes its core mission!

Our daughters used the grant funds from Start-A-Snowball to help start a Pack-A-Sack program for their elementary school that provides supplemental nutrition to the most needy children. We thought of the program in part based upon the Founding Project of Start-A-Snowball and our desire to help local children. To see the impact it's had on our children and their compassion for those in need is amazing. It's been a great family activity and time well spent together developing the project.

I am a Board Member at Start-A-Snowball and believe strongly in the mission of the organization! We value community service as a key ingredient to helping teach children compassion, teamwork, and work ethic. Start-A-Snowball is entirely focused upon helping children engage in community services and service learning through providing grant based seed funding of up to $100 to help kickstart projects, as well as serving as a resource of ideas and platform to highlight the amazing stories we see from children across American and the World.

I'm 12, and received a grant from Start A Snowball after I wrote them a letter. I made Bath Bombs and sold them here in Baltimore to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. At first the balls would not stick together but I figured out how to do it good. People really liked them and liked the cause. Thanks Start A Snowball-- next time I will make snowball bath bombs!

My daughter, who is a young teen starting her own service organization, applied for a grant from Start A Snowball. This was the first grant she had ever applied for, and I can't tell you how very excited she was when she was notified that Start A Snowball would indeed grant her request!

The money enabled her to do her first recruitment to expand her charity, and her work has really "Snowballed" since then!

Start A Snowball also kept in touch with her, checking in to see how her work was going, and was really encouraging to her.

They are just terrific!

What makes Start a Snowball so special is where it came from. This wasn't a board room-started nonprofit, led by (well-meaning) professionals looking to pad their respective resumes. This comes from perhaps the most genuine desires of the most genuine among us: a child. And it appears to continue to be child-led. If you can't get behind the idea of children helping other children, then, well, there's no hope for you.

In all seriousness, I have been HIGHLY impressed with the leadership of SAS and how they have stuck to the core mission. It is run with the passion of a grass roots organization, but with the professionalism of a much larger non-profit. That's not easy to do.

This organization is doing great work in the hope to build the next generation of givers. The children of today will one day have to tackle the problems of tomorrow and Start A Snowball is starting from the ground up to help teach and help kids understand the power they have to change the world.
