The Stano Foundation is an amazing organization filled with purpose and drive. I have had the privilege to work with all the great people of Stano at their events. They are welcoming and passionate about what they do. They treat volunteers with respect and really treat them as part of the Stano family and appreciate the time and effort that volunteers provide. Having multiple friends and family in the military, I know that the service Stano provides is needed and well worth my time and effort. Great group to support!
I’ve been on the board since inception and have watched an idea turn into a reality. It’s been quite impressive watching my sister turn this non profit into a thriving organization. Whether it’s a small task to help someone, or our big pack party at the end it’s always done with a smile for the greater good of the troops. We hope to continue these traditions and grow even bigger through the years.
I have seen STANO blossom from just idea to an outstanding charity that helps so many. From the president, Paula, to the board members and volunteers, everyone puts their heart and soul into it because they care. They all work so hard for the good of others and I know it is truly appreciated by all that receive from them.
As a board member, we strive to put the care back into care packages. It is the least we can do to thank our troops who give so much, yet as for so little. . We are here to remind them they are not alone and are here to help send smiles across the miles.
This nonprofit truly lives up to the slogan of putting the care in care package. Always going above and beyond to put a little bit of home/ love in each box that is sent. WONDERFUL, CARING, DEVOTED, LOVING group of people.
As a military spouse, I met Paula and became a volunteer the month the Foundation was created when my husband was deployed to Afghanistan. This was a way for our family to stay connected with our extended family. Shortly after volunteering with Stano, I realized that they stood out in many ways and our family needed to help in all ways possible. In 2018, I became the Director of Community Outreach in hopes to expand our audience and help as many of our troops, Veterans and their families as possible. We are here to help share a piece of home and comfort across the miles and locally. Our goal is to support our Armed Forces, Veterans and their families from Entrance through Transition.
My Marine son had been overseas on his post for several months. His smile had left him amd his deploymemt is his first time away from the USA . You can see his smile is back. I contacted The Stano Foundation and they helped. They sent him a package! He felt so happy on the phone he laughed and smiled and was back to himself. Thanks to the Stano Foundations love for our Military my Marine knows there are many people that dont forget him. Thank you So much! We sleep safe because of our Military dedication by so many. The Stano Foundation remembers and gives the Military what they need to know they are not forgotten and they can do thier work another day knowing we stand with them and thank them for thier service! This organization did not hesitate because of where my son is stationed! They are awesome!
As President and Founder of this nonprofit, we do our best to assist our deployed troops by providing them with a piece of home. We live by the mantra of "we put the care in care package". We try to do things differently by asking our military members what it is they miss from home and incorporating those items in their care packages. We will continue to assist our troops until they all come home. We also work with local organizations to assist our local Veterans in hospice and transitioning out of homelessness by providing them with socials, basic necessities and an ear to listen.
I am a proud donor of this amazing nonprofit. What they do for our troops is priceless. They take the time to reach out when a need is sent in to see what the military member misses from home or wants while away. They don't just throw a box together to send it out - it's about quality not quantity. They have taken the saying we put the care in care package and live by it. They are all volunteers and strive to ensure each request that comes in is filled and often take on a whole unit to ensure EVERYONE is getting a package and not just the requester. I will continue to give as seeing the smiles and impact is invaluable.
I have witnessed firsthand how the STANO Foundation really does put the care in care packages. The items packed for our deployed troops aren’t just a mish mash of whatever is on hand. The packages are packed specifically for men or women, items that the troops routinely request, including snacks, socks, toiletries, letters from school children, and home made items crafted with love. All workers are volunteers, no one gets paid to do the loading, unloading, organizing, packing, and mailing of items packed in care packages. The STANO Foundation board members all work full time in other professions, yet find the time to bring on community partners, reciprocate community partners’ kindness by volunteering at their events and working at the STANO events too. This is a non-profit with a heart.
