After I was assaulted in 2014. I couldn't work right away like I planned because I needed surgery. And some time to heal. STAR contacted me seeing if I needed any help. At first I didn't think so till about a week went by and my own family didn't want me around while I was recovering and waiting to move away from the neighbor who helped assaulted me. STAR paid for a few nights of hotel stay for me helped me get clothing voucher/ toiletries gift cards, gas vouchers and help me with a new security deposit to move into a new place while I was still healing from being assaulted. I was able to find a new job right away since having a home to call my own. And worked and kept housing and healed. I'm so thankful STAR was there to help me through my very difficult time of need. When I needed help they stepped in and helped me get back on my feet.
