Programs: St. Vincent seton specialty hospital is a 74-bed long term acute care hospital serving primarily marion and contiguous counties and providing services without regard to patient race, creed, national origin, economic status, or ability to pay. It is a unique organization that specializes in caring for acute, critically ill and catastrophically injured patients requiring longer hospital stays averaging more than 25 days. During fiscal year 2017, svssh treated 437 adults and children for a total of 18,264 patient days of service. St. Vincent seton specialty hospital provides inpatient health care services that include individualized ventilator weaning programs; complex infusion therapy; long-term wound care; chemotherapy; therapy services; surgical, radiological, dialysis and laboratory services; telemetry; and hemodynamic monitoring. Some of these services operate at a loss in order to ensure that comprehensive services are available to the community.
