Mission: St paul's meals on wheels inc was organized exclusively for charitable purposes. Their main purpose has been to prepare and deliver meals to the elderly and disabled residents of the borough of pitcairn, allegheny county, pa. The organization is a successor to the meals on wheels operated by st paul's english evangelical luthern church of pitcairn. St paul's operated a christian church in the borough of pitcairn from 1913 until 2007 when a declining membership and increased costs made it impracticable to continue to operate the church. A major activity of the church was to provide a meal program to pitcairn and the surrounding communities. The meals were prepared in the basement area of the church and the necessary supplies for the meals were stored there as well. A group of former church members and other community volunteers who had operated the program in the past agreed to continue the program. Programs: The main exempt purpose of the organization is to provide daily meals to the elderly and the disabled at an affordable low cost. The prepared meals are delivered daily.
