Helping families achieve homeownership and seeing these families in their new homes has to be one of the most rewarding experiences. Take some time to scroll through their website to learn about everything Habitat does for our community. The Newsletter is also very informative; love the future homeowners stories. Thank you to the entire St Lucie Habitat staff and volunteers for all you do.

We've been in the HIP program almost two years now and to say the staff and volunteers involved with St. Lucie County are amazing is quite an understatement!
What this organization is doing for the community is such a blessing to so many who would not be able to achieve home-ownership status otherwise.
We have a disabled, wheelchair bound, daughter who hasn't been able to have a real bath in almost two years. We take those simple things for granted.
Habitat for Humanity turns needful dreams into reality. We had a need for an ADA accessible house. It wasn't just a want. It's an actual need! Being a one income family due to my own health issues and being at home with our daughter, it's tough to be able to obtain a mortgage to make that ADA house need possible.
With HFH, they make it possible. They make you feel like your needs matter and give you a sense of accomplishment by helping you obtain that mortgage and become homeowners.
They love, laugh, and cry with you through the process. You know their hearts are as happy for you as you are for yourself.
And volunteering with them is just as amazing because you get to give back what so many gave for you and your home!
We will be closing in just a few short weeks and we are SO excited for our daughter to be able to have a house that allows her to live life to the fullest of her abilities!
What HFH does is vital. It's so important to so many. It's just an amazing organization. Simply put, they're just amazing!

St. Lucie Habitat is life-changing in more ways than one. For the families and the volunteers. You will never be the same after participating in a Groundbreaking and/or Home Dedication celebration.

Great service to the community and it's an honor to participate in some their service projects. First time home owners are able to realize a dream come true for them and their families.
Also, the staff from CEO to all are actively engaged in the Community at-large.

I have witnessed what stability in living arrangements mean to a family. it is a positive effect in every aspect of life. Stability means better able to provide quality nutritious meals. Better able to study and do well in school. Better able to plan and execute all the things that go into managing one's life including family life. As an added bonus the Community benefits because the citizen and family are more productive, ability to excel at work, able to volunteer to help others.

My introduction to St Lucie Habitat for Humanity came when I was working as a photojournalist and covering their events for the paper. I was so moved by the families, their stories and how hard they have to work for this opportunity. It truly is not a hand out!
Since then I have happily volunteered my services on several occasions.

I started volunteering to take photos of events and submit to media in 2018. I always enjoyed the dedications and groundbreakings. It’s great warning to see the homeowners excitement for their new home. I have recently taken a full time position with Habitat so I can more involved in the great work they do.

Great Volunteer opportunities. To work on a build site with the prospective homeowners is so much fun and so rewarding. Everyone should see how having your own home changes the lives of those who are awarded their new homes, complete with mortgages.

No free rides here, but a hand up that truly changes lives for generations.
