Mission: To create a community connection to nature through education and conservation across the greater st louis area
Programs: St louis audubon provides free educational service to the public, including in-class programs to pk-6 students in public and private schools and also adult oriented programming at community events around st louis such as eagle days wetlands for kids, and wings of spring. Additionally, conservation grants will be offered annually if the restricted fund has sufficient income. The society also works to protect and restore birds and their habitat by advocating for birds to government officials and agencies. Identifying and protecting important bird areas (iba), funding species specific projects within those ibas and supporting citizen science efforts. The organization also coordinates community workdays that utilize volunteers to restore bird and wildlife habitat at selected ibas in the st louis region.
st louis audubons bring conservation home program provides on site habitat restoration advice and certification for urban landowners in the st louis region. The program addresses native and invasvie plants water and conservation, and wildlife stewardship practices for the benefit of birds, other wildlife and community. The program also includes unique events and outreach programming to provide a variety of opportunities for the public to learn about the principles and practices of sustainable native plant habitat gardening.
