Mission: For 147 years, St. Ann's mission has been to care for the area's most vulnerable children and women. It was founded in 1860 by three Daughters of Charity to care for orphans and unprotected females during their confinement in childbirth. Incorporated in 1863 by an Act of Congress, St. Ann's charter was signed by Abraham Lincoln. After a hundred years in the District, St. Ann's moved to its present location in Hyattsville in 1962.
