SQ-Foundation - A Non-Profit Organization came into existence thanks to the pure love that Derek and linda O'Neill felt for those living in desperate circumstances. This foundation has provided schools, shelters, food and clean water, hospitals and clinics in 13 countries. What I love about SQ-Foundation is the heartfelt journey of embracing every individual by supporting, nuturing and loving them in order that they may experience a more healthy and vibrant life. This organization has shown great integrity in building and supporting projects around the world so that every life, that has been touched by their generosity, is enriched through the heartfelt love of each of its members. I fully support SQ Foundation and if you are looking for a Charity where your donation will be utilized to the fullest, in regards to enriching lives, I highly recommend SQ-Foundation to you as well.
I love helping serve SQ Foundation and all of its projects! It is great to see a charity helping anyone in need and sending over 90% of its funds to the project itself and not absorbing funds in wages, expenses, or otherwise. My experience of the founder and its Board Members are of the utmost integrity and positivity and it is great to see SQF support sustainable projects in countries worldwide. 5 Stars all the way and if you want to help someone, do so through SQ Foundation.
Love the work SQ is doing around the world. It is offered with a heart full of love and you can see that in the smiles of the people that are the recipients of that love. It's also amazing how low their overhead is allowing for increased benefits for money donated. SQ is truly in service to humanity and I am grateful that there are non-profits with this level of integrity and consciousness changing the world.
SQ Foundation's values, mission, projects and organization moved me to become a volunteer in addition to long-term donor years ago. I support SQ Foundation because of its incredible heart and dedication to helping impoverished, at risk & underserved children, adults and animals in forgotten places around the world along with its unique capacity to deliver 95% of funds directly to those in need (because it's volunteer driven!). I have personally seen life-saving and sustainable projects that brought clean drinking water, bathrooms and sanitation to indigenous school children and communities in Peru's remote rain forest where previously there was none. I have never come across a charity that operates with such integrity, dedication, compassion and love, and it has been a privilege to work alongside them so that they can continue to bring food, education, medicine, eyecare, shelter, hope and so much more to those in need.
My husband and I have been proud supporters of this wonderful foundation since 2012. Everyone connected with the SQ Foundation is of the highest integrity and has a heartfelt passion for being in service to humanity. The projects served are in areas of great need around the world. With 95% of our donations going directly to these projects, the funds are used mindfully and hence go a long way. Loving and serving all in need is the cornerstone of this wonderful organization and we are overjoyed to contribute to this much-needed work. It is an honor to support such a principled nonprofit with so much heart for the children, adults, elders, and animals of the world. We love being a part of the family of SQ Foundation supporters and volunteers! Lynn Scalzi & Cleve Anderson
SQ foundation continue to serve others with dedication and love. Great care is always taken to empower those who benefit, helping them put the necessary foundations in place to build a better future for themselves. I am continually impressed by how much of the charity's work is done by committed volunteers so that the highest percentage of money raised can go directly to where it is needed. The founder of the foundation, Derek O'Neill continues to be an outstanding example of love in action.
I have worked with many foundations over the years in various capacities, this one exceeds any expectations I have had of what a foundation should be and do. The Founder, Derek and Lind O'Neill created the Born Free Now dba SQ Foundation to help children who were being abused, were orphaned, or abandoned, and needed help. They have given their time, money, energy and love to do this without asking for anything in return - no salaries and no recognition for what they have done. People donate their money and their time because they know that the money goes to educate, feed, clothe, house and give medical care to the children and adults that need it. Everyone that volunteers their time comes from love for them and for the great work they do and continue to do. This organization and the Founders deserve beyond a ten for the work they do. Many Blessings to the Founders and all the committed staff that help them.
Two weeks before I was scheduled to stay at Creacon Wellness Retreat, I was informed that I had high cholesterol and plaque in my arteries. It was strongly suggested that I immediately change my diet to a low cholesterol and plaque removing diet. I contacted Creacon and they immediately understood and designed a special food plan that was incredible. It was delicious and helped lower my cholesterol and plaque numbers significantly. I looked forward to every meal because I had no idea of what they would serve but it was all 5 star!
I started working with SQ Foundation over 10 years ago. There was a community in El Salvador with no school for the children. SQ donated the funds to help us build the school and every year they have continued to support the community. I have been a supporter of their projects around the world since then. They work within communities with so much integrity and respect. I have spoken to people from Ethiopia who have benefited so much from working as a team with SQ. I really love what they do and am a proud supporter!
SQ Foundation has been working with a community in rural El Salvador for the last 3 years. The area has no running water or electricity. When we first visited the area, the children had to travel very far to attend school, if they even went to school at all. A lot of them had to stay behind to watch their siblings as their parents went to work on the coffee plantations or traveled to the nearby city for work. I have watched with my own eyes as this small community has been literally transformed. SQ donated the resources to build a school within the community and now all of the children have a place to study. The teacher travels about 3 hours away from his own family and spends the week in a room that SQ built for him. Mothers of the school children rotate every day to cook the kid's meals, and there are plans for night school so parents can learn how to read and write. When the Mayor's office saw the work that was being done, they contributed with their support. They were able to connect the community with other charitable foundations who contributed the school furniture, another donated new tin for people's homes and another donated huge bins to collect rain water. I have watched as these once forgotten community is now coming back to life. When I recently visited the area I was able to see the school in action, the children with their smiling faces and the proud parents. A very poor family called me to their home, and in gratitude to the Foundation, and the Foundation's CEO, Derek O'Neill, they gave us a Rooster! It was incredibly touching moment. I am so honored to be involved with SQ.
This charity is run by mostly volunteers, which means over 90% of donations go direct to the cause. That is huge! Many multi-million dollar charities don't reach half the people this boutique charity does. To date, over 35,000 people have been helped, mostly women and children in impoverished communities in India and Ethiopia, who would otherwise be forced to turn to child labour, prostitution, begging or death. This charity is about more than providing life necessities - it cares about love and compassion.
High level of mindfulness on how each dollar is used to help. 95% of donations go to those in need. Partner with locals to create sustainability. Also, this 5013c is operated in a conscious way, with respect and kindness. Of course, love is ever present!
I love donating to SQ Foundation because I know a little goes a long way within this organization and 95% of all funds go to the source. They choose passionate leaders with the utmost integrity.
I have been donating to SQ Foundation since its inception. I love knowing that 95% of what I donate goes straight to the source and I know the Founder, Derek O'Neill has impeccable integrity. My donations are making a real difference taking children off the street, housing and educating them. I highly recommend SQ Foundation if you want a charity with integrity doing real hard work to serve people worldwide!
SQ Foundation does Great Things with Great Love. I found this organization to operate with pure intent, the highest integrity and a deep spirit of generosity. They are serving Humanity globally with projects that address communities in need around the world. This organization and its founder Derek O’Neill lead with the 5 Human Values of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-Violence. ❥ And with that all good things flow.
Please research about Sq-Foundation and the work they do to empower and uplift so many lives. Really dig deep to see how much of their funds go directly to those in need, from schools to food, from hospitals to water. Please consider donating and really helping in an efficient way.
Review from Guidestar
SQ Foundation is a phenomenal way to make sure that the funds you donate wind up where they are needed most on the planet. Because almost no one connected with SQ Foundation takes a salary, very nearly all donated funds wind up helping others. I have found this to be very unusual among charitable organizations. Also, the founder of SQ Foundation has an uncanny ability to identify where on our planet funds are most needed, and is able to get those funds where they are needed with great speed, and very little red tape. I have personally observed the formation and service of SQ Foundation from its inception, and I can fully endorse this charitable organization with no reservation whatsoever. I have personally seen SQ Foundation profoundly benefit the lives of children, adults and animals throughout the world, including the United States, India, Africa, El Salvador, Peru, and Ireland, just to name a few. SQ Foundation has helped to establish the very first animal sanctuary in India. This project is very close to my heart. It is through this animal sanctuary that people in India now have a place to bring animals where they can heal and thrive. People in India finally have an alternative to beating animals to death over scarce food supplies. To me, this is a miracle, and helps to redirect our entire planet toward love, compassion and kindness. If anyone were to ask me where I would recommend donating funds, I whole–heartedly endorse, recommend and support SQ Foundation.
Its nice to know that the money I donate to SQ Foundation, truly does help others in the most effective way possible. Its not a big organization but its reach it big. And its size makes sure that donations dont get swallowed up in as they do in large Foundations.
This is a company of integrity. All the people on staff "walk their talk." I trust where the money is going and I know that the children (being funded by the SQ Foundation) feel happy they have not been forgotten and are truly loved.
Our NGO would not be here doing what we do without the support of the SQ Foundation. It's as simple as that. So to talk about the impact of "SQ" support,is the same as talking about what we've been able to build and accomplish. We are a "Rescue and Healing Sanctuary for Animals" in Tiruvannamalai(southern India)-a municipality of over 200,000. There are between 3000 and 3500 homeless dogs here. In 2006, we were able to stop the killing of dogs to control population, with the caveat that we had to put a population control program in place. We opened in January, 2007. A comment from the founder gives a sense of what has unfolded:::: "So it's going...And it's going beautifully... One can experience spaciousness and love when entering the Shelter...At night, after the day is over...One of my favorite things is to sit and watch the dogs---puppies, big and small, healthy and disabled...adult dogs, several old, several lame, several physically in tact...It's just so heartwarming to watch the joy flowing thru them as they chase, wrestle, snuggle, and romp....The vibration gets very sattvic...With chants playing in the background, it feels like a really wonderful ashram....The staff are loving and work hard...They work beautifully and closely, together… They are devoted to me...And I am devoted to them.....Our senior vet, and our general manager---by name, Dr.Raja, and Vishwa---hold nothing back in their beautiful, quiet, loving efforts to lift suffering from the "Animal Kingdom"....We have all truly been brought together by God...And we are deeply blessed to be able to do this work which so directly lifts vast amounts of suffering....” The Founder Before we opened there was no small animal vet within 75 km...There was no facility which gave "in-house" care...There were literally hundreds of suffering and dying dogs and puppies on the streets...It was too difficult to see. So I think what people did to cope was to walk around without looking at them--to cut them out of their awareness. Now there are no more suffering creatures on the streets. So slowly people have started looking…….. Also if they do see one that is in trouble. Most know they can call us or bring them to the Shelter and they will be completely taken care of free of charge. Our vets are on call and we respond to emergencies 24 hours a day. We have seven core programs...(1)Sterilization and anti-rabies program: It’s objectives are to reduce population and eliminate rabies in the dog population thereby eliminating almost all rabies deaths in the human population. We currently do between 80 and 140 sterilizations each month. The total number at the end of Sept.2009 was 2631(about 2300 were homeless dogs). This should result in a decrease of 5000 puppies born each year, most of whom would have suffered and died...(and we have administered over 3900 anti-rabies injections...(2)Clinic: Our clinic was originally intended to treat homeless dogs only. Many are brought in having been hit by vehicles, beaten, and/or with a variety of serious illnesses. Surprisingly, though, there has been an unanticipated high number of “owner dogs” brought in for treatment. More than any other shelter we know............As the reputation of the Shelter grows, more and more “owner dogs” are being brought in for treatment. Regularly we get people from as far away as 100 kilometers. This is in addition to the ABC Sterilization activity. We usually have between 125 and 200 puppies and adult dogs brought to the clinic each month. A number are brought in for treatment more than once. The number of so-called “visits” (If one dog were brought in three times, it would be counted as three “visits”) vary between 175 and 350 each month. At the end of September, 2009 we had treated over 1600 “owner dogs”...................We will treat any small animal in need. There is a government veterinary hospital that treats larger animals but when a situation arises where a large animal needs care and we are the only ones temporarily available we will, of course, treat the suffering animal. Through August 2009 we have treated 124 cats, 72 cows, 24 calves, 97 goats & sheep, 2 horses, 2 bullocks, 7 donkeys, 1 pig, 27 monkeys, 11 squirrels, 22 rabbits, 2 eagles, 5 parrots, 5 peacocks, 10 doves, 21 pigeons, and 65 other avians. Our clinic is open seven days a week. And we provide emergency services 24 hours a day. Almost all services are provided free of cost..............We use ayurvedic, homeopathic and other alternative treatment modes…as well as classic allopathic approaches. (3) Hospital: If required, we provide hospital facilities.(4)Sanctuary: For animals that cannot survive on their own, we offer sanctuary for the rest of their natural lives. They are not kept in cages but may freely live out their lives in the compound. It's a very good life. And they are very happy.(5)Hospice: If an animal is dying, we take it in and give it intensive, loving care which includes I.V.’s, pain killers, antibiotics, and of course, good food. We do not euthanize...(6) Adoption Service: Through August 2009, we have placed 251 puppies, 9 adult dogs, and 7 cats in good homes...(7) Emergency Services: We provide emergency services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If an animal is injured in the middle of the night, we will pick him up and bring him to the clinic. Our doctors are on call 24 hours a day. The Secretary of the Animal Welfare Board of India considers us one of the best in the country..."In the short span of time that they have been in existence, they have established themselves as one of the very best animal sanctuaries, veterinary clinics, rescue shelters and hospices in the Nation." Now back to our dear SQ Foundation...They have also supported us strongly in many ways other than financially--without any "bureaucrateeze" ...It is not easy to run an NGO like this in India...The path is frought with obstacles... Their faith and encouragement in our work, even before we were firmly established, helped us across many difficult crossings...They have literally strengthed the resolve that we need to go on...
SQ is about Love, Truth, Compassion, Service. I have been a part of this spiritually-based foundation since its conception and am proud of its commitment to earth, humankind and animalkind. Kind. That's a good word for SQ, too.
