Great transparent, caring and loving people who do everything they can for every animal they rescue! I don’t see many truly genuine people out there but this is one of the few that I wholeheartedly trust! I will continue to donate because I know my money will be going to an amazing cause! Highly recommend!
Kayla is young and tenacious. There's no ego to get in the way of helping animals. I can make recommendations and she takes them into consideration, yet she's humble enough ask questions when she's unsure. To me that is exactly what it takes to save animals.
This nonprofit is doing great things! I love seeing the horses get healthier and happier during their time with Kayla. Everyone involved is making such a difference for these animals! They are very involved and their love for the horses is obvious. ❤
I’ve known Kayla for quite some time. She’s always had the biggest heart. She runs Spirt of Dixie to the very best of her abilities and does absolutely everything she can for every animal she rescues!

SODHH is a wonderful rescue. They truly put the horses first in everything they do. They focus on the wellbeing and welfare of each and every horse. Vets and farriers are always on call for any emergency, and every horse is given the time and focus to blossom into their full potential. They are very transparent in everything they do. I would recommend them to anyone. Their hearts are definitely in the right place.
This is a great rescue. All the horses are well taken care of and given loads of love. I fully recommend them because when a horse is placed with them you can be sure that horse will be cared for and will thrive. They save lives and are huge advocates for the ones with no voice! Friendly, helpful, all around good people! They are making a huge difference! Keep up the good work!
I’ve been following Kayla and Spirit of Dixie on Facebook. I have donated and will donate again. The horses that are rescued are not denied anything. They get excellent veterinary care, high quality food and supplements, hoof care, training, companionship and LOVE. These horses are in desperate need. Many come from kill pens. Kayla literally saves their lives.
Kayla is so very sweet and so knowledgeable about the horses. I am a regular donor who chooses to donate and keep these good works going. I am VERY impressed with how Kayla and Ricky are quick to take their rescues to the vet rather than give anything a chance to get worse. These horses are very lucky to be with them. Lots of love, care and training.
Kayla is one of the best people I know and everything her and her husband do is for her horses. She takes amazing care of these guys and ensures the best possible home when they are ready to move on. She always keeps the best interest of these horses in mind and even with people trying everything in their power to hold her back or stop her she still does what’s best for the horses. I am so impressed with the level of care, knowledge, determination and love that this organization has for the animals. I know without a shadow of a doubt that they do all they can to help the animals by getting the care they need and showing them compassion. They have taken on a great responsibility with a great attitude for the welfare of the animals in mind. I know they love what they do and so do the animals. Ricky and Kayla are some of the sweetest most hard working people. They genuinely care about the horses and other animals that they have rescued. a bay mare came to them in dealthy condition.
