I volunteered for SNR through my AmeriCorps program which brought my team to Coeur d'Alene, and SNR was more than happy to include us in so many different community events and activities, and they were an absolute joy to volunteer for. We participated in karaoke events, planting a garden, pickleball practice, and so much more. Thank you SNR for being amazing!

This is an amazing adult day program for our daughter who is 32 and has DS. She really loves it! The participants are very friendly and welcoming to newcomers and our daughter has made lots of new friends. The staff are good people, honest and fair, and they care about each participant. They stay well informed and schedule inclusive activities that are interesting and fun. I feel very blessed to have this program available for our daughter here in North Idaho. SNR truly is Specialized Needs Recreation.
Come and join the fun!

What a GREAT place!

SNR provides recreation and social activities for our fellow community members with all levels of disability, in a safe and fun environment, with programs for adults, youth, and children. The staff is amazing and attentive to all!

Be it basketball, sailing, game night, bowling, karaoke, pickleball, a dance party, or some other activity, everyone is enjoying just living life. At SNR, smiles abound!!!

Jeremiah has Down Syndrome and was not very verbal when he started going to Specialized Needs Recreation. He has been going to SNR for the last 15 years and has exceled in his speech as well as his social skills. He has made so many friends and is very excited when he is able to go. The staff are simply amazing and has so much patience with all the participants that are involved. The staff also sets up their daily outings which I am also very grateful for the community businesses to partake in these outings as the group is always excited to try new things in the community. My son would not be where he is today without SNR behind him. Much gratefulness and appreciation goes out to this non-profit.

SNR is such a fabulous program for our special-needs community! My daughter has been attending there for several years. This life skill program is like none other. Whether they are going out on an outing, learning different skills or just socializing with friends… It’s a program that can’t be beat!
Thankyou SNR ❤️

What an amazing resources for adults with specialized needs! SNR provides a huge variety of outdoor adventures, social experiences and outlets for creative expression. But the thing I, as a volunteer, am most warmed by is the relationships between staff and participants but especially between the many participants. They greet each other, they encourage each other, they empathize with each other and they are shown alternate options when they are not getting along with each other. I can’t say enough about this amazing organization.

My son David had no friends or activities in the residential habitat program he lives in. When we found Specialized Needs Recreation it was like a whole new world opened up for him. He goes four days a week and has experienced such adventurous outings and has developed friendships beyond our wildest dreams. He has developed new skills and improved the old ones. He has a place to shine and cannot wait to show me all he is learning and doing. As a single aging mother I cannot tell you how grateful I am. Thanks to all who make this possible!

SNR does great things in the community for those with special needs. The participants love attending and spending time with their friends at the SNR Center and also in the community. They provide opportunities for individuals with special needs that they otherwise would not have.
