Special Leisure Services Foundation (SLSF) provided the funding needed to build a ramp that allows people with disabilities access into the Hanover Park Park District Community Center! This was truly out of the box thinking and lead to the opening of the second PURSUIT Adult Day program that NWSRA and Clearbrook have opened to provide adults with disabilities day services. The program is located right in the heart of the community! The ramp is used by mothers with strollers, seniors, and people with disabilities all looking to recreate together at their local park district. SLSF has helped to build a community!

This organization has very unique and fun events that we love to attend and volunteer at. They always go the extra mile with explaining their services and really give me a great picture of where my money is going.

I love to volunteer for events, whenever I volunteer with SLSF it is organized, fun, and best of all, it benefits a great group of individuals with special needs. These individuals are often working alongside the volunteers to develop independence and communication skills. Every event I've attended has been a blast!

SLSF is a wonderful foundation that does great work for people with disabilities! The small but mighty group of people that run this foundation are fantastic and work tirelessly to raise funds for children and adults with disabilities so that they can experience outstanding recreational opportunities in the community.

As a Board Member for SLSF, I've had the opportunity to meet a number of participants and their families. It is evident that the results of the programs supported by SLSF are outstanding, with a number of individuals with disabilities finding a path to self-sufficiency that may not have otherwise been possible without access to these programs.

The best part of working for NWSRA is being able to focus on everyone's unique abilities. It is great to be a part of a diverse and passionate staff that is all focused on helping our participants have fun, be included, make new friends, go new places, and learn new things. The staff do not do all of this on our own. None of this would be possible without the generous donation of time and talent from our outstanding volunteer team and the financial support of SLSF.
