Special Compass has empower my son Brandon Seacrist. He has completed several 5K’s, Half Marathon’s and he is going to do his 1st triathlon this September. He is so excited and of course I’m even more excited. Jim and Michael Sayih thru Special Compass have sored Brandon’s self esteem. He has made amazing friendships with so many of our Power Buddies who are the engines and encourage him and give him the experience of running. And more important I love watching the Power Buddies coming thru the finish line with our kids, the look on their faces are priceless because they help Brandon and the other athletes accomplished the finish line.
Thank you Special Compass for making my son and all the other athletes smile and have something they own.

Love Special Compass. It lifted my spirit and gave me the opportunity to give to others within the sport I enjoy the most. Interestingly enough, when I did my first race I thought I was going to help but I feel I ended up getting the help I needed with a truckload of spiritual vitamins for the heart. The energy I received in exchange form all the amazing riders and power bodies excelled my expectations and made me feel that I got a lot more than what I gave to my partners. The work and the effort Jim and Special Compass provide is priceless and the love that drives the train is contagious. The smiles and the cheers we get from our differently able partners continues to positively impact me, my family, and my friends. Every event is a joyful experience. This is surely healthy high quality human love in the making.

It was truly an amazing uplifting experience to be able to participate and help with the couple of races I have done with Special Compass. I think they did more for me than I could ever do for them. Great group and inspiring. you guys are the best!

After many years of doing athletic events, I was looking for a way to get more than a medal. Teaming up with Special Compass and joining its board has given me that. Imagine running a 5k or a spartan or Triathlon and seeing the excitement on a differently ABLED. Individuals face as they cross the finish line. Special compass has grown out of the idea to simply help others achieve success where they have all the desire but physical limitations. I encourage everyone to join SC and help others achieve more. Proud to be a part of a fantastic group. Dr. Darren Kreitman

The pictures of the events are so inspiring, you can see the driven dedication
and determination of Jim Sayih and all the volunteer athletes of Special Compass. The "Power Buddies" are carefully matched to their differently-abled partners and, along with Jim, they mindfully plot how to maneuver over, under, and through obstacles or run marathons together, all the while smiling and ensuring all the participants are having the time of their lives.

After my boyfriend, who was once a lifelong athlete, body builder, and personal trainer got a muscle wasting disease, called ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's Disease) and became confined to a wheelchair, Jim invited us to join him and his crew of dedicated individuals in our first ever half marathon. We accepted the invitation and that event lead us begging for more! You will never experience anything in your life more gratifying then the impact these events leave etched on your heart and soul, and leave you longing to do more events with Special Compass.
You can do all the marathons or races by yourself and feel proud of your own accomplishments, BUT, when you share your special time with an athlete/individual that could not do it without your help, you will NEVER be more proud of the giftof time that you gave and shared with everyone around you. Bystanders will be driven to cheer you on, you will see the love pouring out of the eyes of others as they watch us carrying our comrades, in some cases on our backs, to get them through the races.
All I can say is, come see or find out for yourself just how beautiful life is on this side of the spectrum.
One love! One life! Together we can do all things! We love you and all you do Jim Sayih!

Just an unbelievable organization...life-changing really. What Jim and his son Michael have been able to do is an inspiration to anybody, not just those with a disability. I am so proud to have been a part of it. I encourage anybody that’s ever wanted to move pass their perceived physical limitations or help those that have them to give Special Compass a chance.

Jim and his team of volunteers are always participating in races and obstacle courses so sign up today. You won’t regret it.

Special Compass volunteers and especially Jim Sayih have really motivated the individuals who live at United Community Options in Broward County group homes. They have encouraged us to participate in 5Ks, half marathons and now a triathlon. The residents love to be pushed in the racing wheelchairs. They do not get that many opportunities to go fast but the athletes that run with the chairs are amazingly quick. The residents really look forward to these events. Thank you for some great experiences!

My son , Chad has always been outgoing and always wants to be doing something in spite of his cerebral palsy!! Jim Sayih and Special Compass has introduced him to a whole new adventure. Chad completed his first triathlon which he could not have done on his own! Special Compass will now have to figure out how to keep up with him!!

I have been running with special compass and pushing Michael for over 5 years. We have done lots of 5k, 1/2 marathons and 1 triathlon. The best feeling is watching the joy in their faces crossing the finish line and or Michael walking across the finish line. Priceless. No matter how hard it seems, it always feels good at the end. Keep me coming back

Being part of the special compass team has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life. Jim and the Special Compass team have and continue to put the biggest smiles on the differently abled community. I have also been fortunate enough at a Spartan race prior to me knowing Jim and the amazing team to witness firsthand the awe and inspiration that they bring to the entire ocr and local communities at these races. I can’t wait to be a part of the next race!!!

Words can't describe how amazing the Special Compass organization is. I mean seriously, the companionship and joy that both the riders and the power buddies share is just out of this world. Even 4 hours into a spartan race, you won't find a single person not smiling ear to ear. I am always looking forward to the next one. Thank you Superman Jim!!!

Jim and Michael Sayih are the most kind hearted and inspirational people I know. Jim has included his son in some amazing feats. And Special Compass was developed to share these opportunities with other differently abled individuals who are then paired with athletes to experience the freedom and thrill of competing in different events. Even full Iron Man races!! Their service and dedication is unparalleled.

I have had a privilege of being involved in a few races with the Special Compass, from 5k runs to Spartan races. The dedication to the organization's mission of the people involved, from the founder Jim to the other members is amazing. Seeing the faces of the differently- abled athletes when they cross the finish line is priceless.

Jessika Kattah - (Rider) and Reinaldo Maiz - (Rider);

When I was able-bodied, I ran many 5k's for causes dear to my heart. In 2012, I became paraplegic and the thought of crossing the finish line of a 5k was impossible. After learning that I could do everything I did before, just differently, is when I gained the confidence to do my first 5k post injury at the Fun Glow 5k. I signed Rey and I to roll the run. Little did I know, the difficulty we were about to face with the very steep hills at Vista View Park. It's tough for an able-body, but even tougher with a wheelchair! I can't thank Darren Kreitman and Cristina Diaz enough for helping Rey and I climb those hills. Because of them and the team with Special Compass, we proudly crossed the finish line and completed our first 5K post-injury. They were "our legs" and more importantly our encouragement to never give up. Since then, we've been able to cross many finish lines including the Flanigan's 5K Rib Run & the Miami Marathon & so many more! We will never forget all those races & look forward to many more to come! Thank you again!

With much love,
Jessika Kattah and Reinaldo Maiz
