4 years ago my brother started attending the one and only day-hab he had ever been to. Since our mother passed away and he was "inheritance" I was at a loss not knowing what to do. Since the first day he attended Special Angels of the Woodlands we haven't left.
Special Angels of The Woodlands (SAW) has a very special place in our hearts. My family has been proud financial supporters of this unique organization since 2007.
Absolutely every time we enter ANGEL OAKS, we hear laughter and feel joy. This is a happy place for adults with developmental disabilities. It’s a Day Hab with a mission statement to keep these Angels actively engaged in their community.
When these angels graduated from high school, there was no place for them to go, to stay active, to learn, and to enjoy meeting lifelong friends. Special Angels of The Woodlands is the place where these activities -and more- can be found. The smiles and the laughter say it all.
My son Erik Rocha goes to Special Angels and he likes it very much.
He loves to go bowling with them.
He loves the dancing and the field trips.
He loves the staff.

Angels of The Woodlands has truly been a blessing to our daughter who was going through a very hard time in her life with epilepsy,M.R and Autism. Special Angels took her in and were so patient and supportive of her. As a parent I highly recommend Angels of the Woodlands, the staff is amazing and Mrs.Claudia is a gift from God. She so patient ,kind and understanding...
This nonprofit is very much a like a family. From the clients to the staff to the volunteers, there is a sense of genuine understanding and compassion for one another.
As the sister of an intellectually disabled brother, I was so excited to find a local organization that provides a fun, stimulating and challenging day program for these adults. Special Angels of The Woodlands provides for both the adults they serve and gives their families some well deserved "time off". I have volunteered at multiple events and have found the staff, etc to be an exceptionally loving and caring community. What a blessing to have this nonprofit in our area!

Special Angels of The Woodlands is an amazing organization that enhances the lives and life skills of adults with intellectual disabilities. Their clients are some of the nicest, warmest, loving, adults you can find anywhere. The group always has a great time doing fun activities that also give back to our community. I'm proud to be a donor and supporter of SAW. The support SAW gives to the clients and their families is unmatched in our community.
I have attended (and thoroughly enjoyed!) many of the fundraising events for SAW over the past several years. The care & attention that the clients receive is evident through their huge smiles and joyful demeanors! I love supporting an organization like Special Angels of The Woodlands that provides for these sweet folks that might otherwise be underserved. The families of clients that I've met express such gratitude for their loved one having a safe place to go and enjoy fun activities & fellowship- it is a "win-win" situation for all. Needless to say, there are sweet, passionate, tireless servants that selflessly give their time and talents to make this program thrive.
An amazing heartfelt nonprofit making a difference in the lives of challenged adults in the Woodlands. A wonderful program enriching the lives of those who are often left behind. Inspiring program for all to learn from!
I recently had the opportunity to volunteer at the Special Angels of The Woodlands. I must say I was very impressed with the organization. It was my pleasure to meet the caring staff and spend time assisting many of the clients. It was obvious to me that this is an exceptional organization.
I love what they are doing at Special Angels of The Woodlands. In providing engaging and enriching physical and intellectual activities for these special adults, SAW is fulfilling a huge need in our community. The care givers and leadership are highly competent and enthusiastic. They seem to truly love their work and their clients. I highly recommend Special Angels of The Woodlands.
My daughter Rhonda Herzog has been going to Special Angels since about 2012. She attends this day program because of several reasons, they take them on really good day trips, and the activities within their classroom includes all things that benefit the clients in every way. There's fairness shown to each and every individual no matter what their capabilities are . Their staff always seems to be happy and are very courteous to the clients parents. And one of the main reasons that I leave her there is because she's happy there.
I have had the good fortune of working with these special adults when gardening. They are always kind and respectful and enjoy the activities associated with planting and harvesting. The staff truly cares for these thoughtful adults.
I volunteered at Special Angels of The Woodlands. It is an amazing place where they are really bringing joy and purpose to those with intellectual disabilities.
Special Angels of the Woodlands (SAW) is a hidden gem! Located in Spring, Texas they offer care and learning for adults who have special needs. SAW has programs and activities geared toward teaching the clients many lifeskillls. The facility is awesome and spacious with plenty of room to grow. If you know of someone seeking care in a nurturing environment, check out SAW.
My son Erik Rocha goes to Special Angels and like it
because they taking him bowling, and on the bus to go to the trolley.
He also likes going to the restaurant once a month.
I like Special Angels because I get some free time,
There are not many places for my son to go and mingle with other adults like him.

Special Angels has been a blessing for our daughter since she enrolled here. She has been there nearly two years and absolutely enjoys everyone she is around there.
Just being around the special angels, has lifted my spirits. One of the special angels was having a not so good morning and she came up to me and asked are you going to go bowling with us today. I replied no, I have so much work to get done maybe next week. Well, that particular afternoon, I felt something say put down your work and go to the bowling alley. I arrived and the young angel ran across to the door with the largest smile saying at the top of her lungs "you made it! I'm so glad you're here"!. Her greeting and faith in me did more for me than any amount of work I could have done that day! Special Angels makes the world go around.
Non profits like SAW provides a valuable service to our community. My daughter is 39 years old, lives at home, and attends Special Angels six hours daily. Brooke is Autistic, severely intellectually challenged (MR), and has a sleep disorder. If it was not for places like SAW my wife and I would be forced, out of necessity, to surrender Brooke to the State for housing and daily care provisions. Instead of living in a caring, loving home environment, Brooke would be living in State institutions where her quality of life would drastically diminish, with medical and safety issues abounding. In addition the cost to the State would quadruple.
I would like to state that I'm truly grateful and thankful for Special Angels of the Woodlands for providing a learning environment that is safe and fun for my daughter along with 20 to 30 other adults with various disabilities.
My daughter enjoys attending the Special Angel's day program. She is able to socialize with friends , participate in field trips,go to the movies, arts, crafts, exercise, and work on her individualized goals. Great program!

Special Angels is a safe, welcoming, and loving place. My daughter loves attending the day program, interacting and hanging out with her friends. Even though she is nonverbal, she enjoys participating in the community outings, field trips and the structured classroom activities . The care providers are dedicated, caring, and always client focused. Thankyou Special Angels for providing a fun and special place for my daughter to attend and socialize with her peers.
I work in the office at Special Angels of the Woodlands. Before working here I was a volunteer and a donor. The caregivers go above and beyond in seeing to the needs of our clients. Our clients are very happy.
I first got involved with Special Angels in June 2008. I placed my daughter with the Day Habilitation service. I have watched the organization growth and love the client first attitude. The love of God is present and they a dedicated staff of care givers. The frequent community outings are a real blessing and a treat for the clients. I pray continued success, peace and blessings.
My daughter has been attending Special Angels of the Woodlands 6 years. The original owner Ms Thelma gave her a chance. My daughter has Autism and Severe Mental Retardation. She does not talk. She does communicate. SAW has great staff that work at getting to know each student individually. What makes them upset and what makes them ready to work or play. SAW takes the folks out 4 times a week into the community. Brave souls! This is the place you want your family or friends with disabilities to attend.
My little brother attends Special Angels of the Woodlands 5 days a week and this program has not only changed his life, but all of us as his family. This school feels way more like a family than a school, because it brings people together, where you can share in your struggles and joys in your journey with having a special needs loved one. I love the staff and all the people that make this place a second home for my brother.
My daughter attends the day program at Special Angels of The Woodlands. She always comes home happy!
It is my very great honor to serve on the Board of Directors of this amazing nonprofit organization. Special Angels of The Woodlands provides a day activity center for adults with intellectual disabilities. It’s mission is to engage our clients in community life as often as possible, an objective that brings great joy and many blessings to all who are involved with our Special Angels.
I feel I was blessed with a wonderful sister who is Down's syndrome. Due to Michelle, my mother, Thelma Braddock, found her greatest feeling of purpose and accomplishment in her life.. She was the founder of Special Angels of The Woodlands. She is now looking down from heaven celebrating the continued growth of SAW. She began by providing a day program in her home which gave caregivers some time for themselves and an outing with activities for their child. Word got out and she had so much demand she found a church that provided a location for them to meet. I am sure mother is dancing in heaven now in celebration of the new permanent location, Angel Oaks.
My son, Travis, absolutely loves going to Special Angels of The Woodlands. Even on Saturdays, he ask to go to school, (as he calls it). Travis loves all his friends and the people that help him with his day. He gets to go bowling, to the movies, to the park and to the Library. All in one week. After high school, I didn't know what Travis was going to do on a daily bases. Just by accident (or GOD's planning), we for Special Angels of The Woodlands. It's the best day program for adults with special needs. I stand behind them 100%.
We looked for a special place for our daughter and Special Angels of the Woodlands was a great fit. The teachers are so caring and really love what they do. Our daughter looks forward to attending every day. Hopefully, the building will be back to serve these special needs consumers very soon.
If you want a wonderful experience for your Angel, they need to be attending Special Angels of The Woodlands.
My Mother, Thelma Braddock along with my family founded this organization several years ago. Through the support of so many Special Angels has continued to grow and be successful. Today to see that it has grown into such an amazing organization providing for and meeting the needs of so many in the The Woodlands / Spring area means so much to me and my sisters. My youngest sister is a client as well, she looks forward to attending each day.
The staff at Special Angels is amazing. Very caring and compassionate.
Best thing that ever happened to my 23 year old Down's Syndrome son. He looks forward to going every weekday. Academics in the morning and a social/physical activity after lunch every day. A small side story: we had just moved to The Woodlands. Once a month The Angels celebrate birthdays at a local restaurant. My husband happened to be eating lunch at the restaurant that particular Friday. He noticed their Tee Shirts and texted me the name and asked me to google it. I did and called and the rest is history!
