I have seen nothing but dedication to a program of assisting teens in crisis with a unique and successful way of utilizing music to open intimate dialogue. Kids need to be able to speak openly about their feelings and discuss them in ways that help them as well without feeling pressured. Special Angel allows this via music and bringing thought and compassion during the process. I believe that Special Angel could be a great asset to any organization looking to complement their own therapeutic and counseling programs targeted towards youth today!
I have had the privilege of being associated with this organization for the past 10 years and have seen the wonderful results that they have seen through their work using music to help teens in trouble. In addition, the organizations that have embraced this program illustrates the need and the credibility of their mission.
Songs are believed to be the key to people’s heart. Special Angel uses their inspirational songs in reaching out to those who feel alone. Kids that are lonely, confused and feeling helpless.
Suzanne’s passion for helping goes beyond just helping those that are clinically sick (she’s an RN by profession) but by reaching out to those that are emotionally sick who don’t know how to navigate the emotional turmoil they are suffering from.
We all need our Special Angel to make us feel better as short as a song or as long as a lifetime. Special Angel keep up your wonderful work!
I have had the pleasure and honor of being involved with Special Angel since its founding. This has given me the opportunity to see first hand the dedication the organization has to helping our nation's youth through music as well as its successes over the years. There is perhaps nothing more gratifying than reading the thank you notes and feedback from the kids Special Angel visits and seeing that the group has truly made a tangible difference in these youngsters' lives. It is wonderful that Special Angel is expanding to other areas of the country - children and young adults everywhere can benefit from its message and its work.
I am proud to serve on the Board with others who share our mission. I have seen what happens when we bring our program to agencies helping at risk kids who have had more than their share of tough times. It is hard for them to trust and the music helps open the door to communication. Their smiles and positive responses grow with each visit.
As Chairman of the Board and co-Founder, I have been amazed by what we have learned through our work with some pretty amazing agencies and the kids they work with. To be able to play a part in helping a young person heal and become who they were always meant to be is an honor and truly a wonderful opportunity. This is something to be proud of and to share.
This organisation displays an amazing dedication to our troubled youth by creating trust and acceptance through music and oral stories contributing to an engaged and therapeutic community.
I have the pleasure of watching the outstanding work Suzanne Geimer and the Special Angel Band have done with troubled teens for over sixteen years. Their lesson on the importance music can play in the healing process is impressive and it is so touching to see how much these young people appreciate the time and effort Suzanne and the Band provides them.
I loved Suzanne's book, as a mother of four and as a concerned citizen who cares about teens who get lost in the system because no one cares. everyone I've given the book to has the same reaction that I did and they can see how important communication must be. Suzanne understands that music is the greatest form of communication, and one that all people of all ages respond to.
I look forward to learning about the new projects Suzanne and Special Angel have in store for the upcoming year.

As a supporter and participant, I've enjoyed great moments and seen young children and adults experience new dawns in their lives as we share with them our experiences in this world both negative and positive. Through music we make it possible for them to understand and appreciate what we do to give mentoring sessions to different schools, Alternative schools and other outlets to reach children and help uplift their spirits in a way that will help them to head in the right direction in life and not only bring joy and smiles, but understanding as well. we would love to visit your establishment.
Hope to see you soon.
I used to volunteer with this agency and I was always so moved by their influence on the young kids. They have a wonderful mission and such a passionate founder! Truly a gem of a resource.
These musicians are loving, caring, and genuinely engaging with troubled teens.
Great volunteer effort sharing music, joy and encouragement to homeless youth, sex trafficking victims and children affected by drugs.
As part of the Special Angel team I have seen first hand the positive effects of music with at-risk teenagers. No matter what challenges young adults have they all love music and it can become a window into their hearts regardless of their guardedness. And that's when healing can begin. We encourage the teens to express themselves by singing or playing percussion and sometimes we bring ukuleles for them to play to help the communication begin. Suzanne has the uncanny ability to draw out the concerns and anxieties from the group and help bring some peace and understanding into our sessions. It is an honor and a privilege to work with Suzanne and the Special Angel team.
I've known Suzanne and the folks at Special Angel for over two decades. I've never met a group of people more dedicated to helping young people gain a new foothold in life. There is no group I am prouder to support than Special Angel!
I have known the family and founder of Special Angel Inc. and the work they have done over the years to help resolve at risk kid's attitudes and at risk activities. The commitment of the team is outstanding and the kids gravitate to the music of discovery, creativity and love. Who wouldn't with Suzanne and Kelly at the helm. Way to go y'all!
Suzanne and I have been friends for 30 some years. I watched her grow as a nurse and musician. As her daughter became a teen, she made some bad choices. As all kids do, that’s how we learn to make better choices. Suzanne being the strong caring mother..... Started asking hard questions and learning how to solve difficult problems to help her daughter. Out of all the trials and errors they became closer and so started Special Angels! I am so proud of both of them. They didn’t just settle in and forget, they turned it around and gave back to all the lucky people who have crossed their path. I truly hope they will be singing and teaching for many more years!
Helping youth-at-risk is the most important issue in America today.
Thank you, Special Angel, for all that you do !

As President Trump has recently pointed out:
the Opioid Crisis is a national emergency.
Special Angel has a lot to offer in helping
youth who are trying to get away from the epidemic
and back to a healthy path. Bravo, Special Angel.
Thank you so much!
Their dedication to youth-at-risk is commendable.
We need more volunteers to speak with youth about addiction and recovery.
As a band member, I have personally witnessed the great results of Special Angel since it's early days in the 1990's. Suzanne's stories, songs and interaction with at-risk kids in shelters like Children Of The Night and Covenant House in Los Angeles and New York have consistantly demonstrated the positive, healing power of music. It's gratifying to see these kids - many of whom have suffered sexual and drug abuse - come out of their shells, join in the music, and feel better about themselves as a result.
I have been fortunate enough to work alongside Suzanne Geimer with Special Angel Inc with her social media marketing. Her passion and commitment is contagious. She has a smart, eloquent voice that can lead people to two important statements, “I want to know more” and “I want to do more.”
I have had the pleasure to watch the wonderful work Special Angel Inc has been doing for twenty years. Their countless visits to perform and help teens in distress in Los Angeles and throughout the country is so admirable. Suzanne Geimer's giving and caring spirit are at the center of this special work and along with the musicians in her band and her lovely daughter they must all be considered Special Angels. Their loving hearts and musical talents are a real-time music therapy for young people who are in the depths of darkness. I have watched what Kelly, Suzanne, and the band have done to help these kids by taking them into their own world of writing and playing music, and by teaching them to play the guitars donated to Special Angel for this very purpose. Music therapy works and music is the universal language. I am so proud to know them.
Special Angel is an amazing organization. The way Suzanne and the other performers are able to connect with young people and help them live better lives is inspiring. It is a privilege to support the work that they are doing.
Suzanne and Special Angel are wonderful, she and her organization are dedicated to helping young people.
I have been working with this organization since its humble beginnings. The message has always been the same. Helping kids through music. This organization is very grass roots. The children and teens are seen in their environment, where they are trying to thrive and grow. The organizations bring Special Angel to their locations:,the songs, the music is therapeutic. Through hearing stories of growth and encouragement, healing takes place. They are unique, and have a special message of hope to share.
I read the book "Someday It Will Matter" written by Suzanne of the Special Angel Organization. It was a true story of a Mother and Daughter and how they overcome their struggles with individual problems through music together. Through lyrics, they were able to express their story and begin healing themselves. Today, this organization reaches out to help other troubled teens wanting to listen to what they sing which I feel gives others hope for themselves.
This organization is truly worth supporting..
I have had the honor to be involved with Special Angel since its founding. What the organization achieves in its work with troubled teens is truly remarkable and inspiring. The commitment of the founder and her team is most impressive and they work tirelessly to help kids with their music and visits. You have to see the change in these kids from how they walk in to a workshop with Special Angel to how they are when they leave to believe it. I look forward to working with them for many years to come and to helping them reach even more troubled teens both in their current market of Southern California and beyond.
The Special Angel Band, headed up by talented singing and strumming, mother/daughter team Suzanne and Kelly, has a unique mission and a unique way of reaching out to troubled teens who seem unreachable. They partner with other organizations and shelters to offer therapeutic music and quality entertainment to communicate with youth who are lost and help them find their place back in society and perhaps even to their own families. I had the pleasure of growing up with Suzanne and am not surprised that her life has been one of giving and reaching out to help others. They are not only a group of talented musicians but music lovers with a very special mission, special angels, indeed.
Special Angel mixes goodwill with its labor of love, music, to the benefit of thousands it has touched. It would be difficult to sum up in what this group does in a single word. But I will try with two -- simply splendid!
Suzanne....our wonderful Angel! I can't say enough good about this woman who is so giving of herself and her talents to help runaway, homeless, exploited children and adult women who are pregnant or parenting while residing in a residential substance abuse treatment center. Her special message is spread through her creative singing and song writing. She has helped so many enjoy the gift of her music as she travels miles with her family and band to perform free of charge. We are so lucky to have Suzanne in our lives. Thank you for being the loving, giving person you are. We look forward to your next visit..... Thank you for being in our lives......Darlene from the WestCare Women and Children's Campus in Las Vegas, Nevada
It has been amazing to watch the outstanding work Special Angel has done with kids who need hope. Suzanne and Kelly have kept their dream alive while helping so many kids in trouble around the country, as well as Children of the Night in LA. Kudos to these great women, their band and devoted friends who help carry on this needed work.
Special Angel is a much needed service to help young peopl feel they have someone who really cares about them. Through music they can communicate on a different level which helps them to open up and express their feelings. If they feel someone is listening this makes them feel more confident and have hope for the future.
Special Angel has been helping kids find their way for many years. They are a terrific organization and should be listed as a great non profit.
I've had the privlage to know this family for going on thirty years. In fact I give them credit for giving me the courage to become what God intended me to be, a professional songwriter. " Special Angel" should be plural. If you meet them, you'll know what I mean. To know them is truly an honor.

This is a great organization. Music is a wonderful avenue to reach kids. Special Angels has it all figured out by singing to troubled teens, they have had a great success rate in helping these kids. They seem to open up after hearing the music and the message Special Angels brings to them. This is a worthy organization that deserves to be heard.
Special Angel has volunteered with Children of the Night for a very long time, I believe it has been nearly 20 years. They are great with the kids and work hard to make everyone feel included. They are also wonderful musicians and Suzanne has a lovely singing voice. We are very lucky to count them among our volunteers.
The first time I ever volunteered with Special Angel, we went to Children of the Night. In all honesty I didn't think the kids living there would have any interest in the music, (not fully understanding their community yet) I assumed if it wasn't rap or punk the kids would resist. After introductions and band starting singing and engaging with the kids, I was blow away. The kids took to Suzanne and Kelly so fast, they clapped, they sang, they danced. All the kids and I mean ALL were having fun, Suzanne encouraged them to add their own personal lyrics to some of the songs which transformed a few of the shy kids into confident singers, who stood and took center stage. There was a spark in the kid's eyes, it was beautiful and enlightening. After that amazing night, I was hooked. All my assumptions about what these kids needed went right out the window. Suzanne knew how to connect with these kids and make this smile, feel special. Not enough people do that for these kids and I applaud Suzanne for doing it for so long and leaving those kids with joy. I continued to volunteer for many years, I believe in Suzanne, I am inspired by Suzanne and I am impressed by Suzanne and the what the Special Angel Band does for these at risk kids.
Special Angel gives more than just "a voice" to the silent majority of youth-at-risk
in the United States. This band of angels gives "a singing voice" to these youths,
and helps them on their road to recovery and regaining lost innocence. Everyone
could use a Special Angel to get by in this world - thanks for your generosity of
spirit, good music, and for your contagious optimism.
