I think that is very important for schools to know about bullying and what to do when it is occurring. It is important to teach children how to ask for help and when to say something when they see something. It is important to remind kids that they are in a safe learning environment and that the teachers and adults are there to help them without being judged.
Bullying is a severe problem so having anti bullying programs is very important because bullying among young children is unfortunately a common and persistent problem. Having programs like this will help prevent tragedies among this world.
I belive all schools should have these program. These program it's good for adults and children to learn and to all speak against bullying. I personally would love for my children school to have these program so kids can feel more confident and speak out.
Due to many report cases about bullying happening in schools having programs to talk about bullying is important because many children and young adults need to get as much support as they can. By Having someone to guide them and support them it’s crucial to the students because then it would prevent many unnecessary tragedies and at the same time lower the cases of bullying in schools therefore all students will feel safe in their school environment.
Having Monica come to the church to give her presentatiom on Bullying was an experience those that attended will never forget. It was very informative. We were much more educated so we have the ability to help our children and community.
Hearing all of the information about bullying has heighten my commitment to fight against bullying. Our youth is our future.
With bullying and cyberbullying now being epidemics in the schools and 24/7 what better way to educate parents and students about it than with Speak Out Against Bullying. I'm a parent of little ones and already my sons are telling me they are being picked on. The strategies and prevention techniques are what parents need to hear. I would highly recommend this presentation to all schools and at parents meetings.
Speak Out Against Bullying is a great organization that helps children understand how bullying effects them and others. Monica Harmon and her organization are doing a great service to the community by spreading awareness and solutions to the troubling problem of bullying.
I have known Monica for a number of years and her passion and enthusiasm are unparalleled. She works tirelessly and always with a smile on her face on those causes that are most important to her. Chief among those is Speak Out Against Bullying, where Monica has often spoken passionately about her work and efforts in providing a space for children to understand how bullying affects others. By spreading awareness and her dedication to caring about kids, Monica is a true asset to this wonderful organization.
This program, Speak Out Against Bullying, ran by Ms.Monica, is so amazing for spreading awareness about bullying. It's important to have programs that help kids that feel like they can' t help themselves because bullying is still a big thing youth are going through. Kids should be able to be themselves without having to think will I get bullied for doing this or that. I find it really important when you have someone that really cares about kids and wants whats best for them to run programs like this because you know that they are looking out for them and are doing everything in there power to help them. Ms.Monica is such a great person and is doing so many great things for these kids and this program. So I hope that you learn more about this program and do what you can to help her decrease the amount of bullying going on in or schools and communities because it's a serious problem that's needs to be stopped.
Speak Out Against Bullying is an amazing non-profit overviewed by Ms. Monica Harmon. She definitely cares about the children who are being bullied and also the child who is the bully. She cares about both sides which aren't that common. It is very nice to see that someone still wants to promote a change in the world of bullying. Even though some people might say it is "outdated" it is still wreaking havoc in our schools but this organization is changing that and it is refreshing for the students of the school and their parents who won't have to worry about it anymore. This organization is very helpful and I am glad it is doing something great in our communities.
I'm a middle school student and we've heard a lot from anti bullying speakers. But Ms. Harmon's was one of the best. The presentation covered stuff we did not know and many of us were surprised at the social media and cyberbullying part. I think because of this assembly there are students who won't be posting hurtful comments as before.
As a parent bullying has many of us concerned that our children are experiencing this in school. I attended a parent group presentation and was impressed by the topics and information. I learned we have a responsibility to make sure our children aren't the ones bullying others. In addition I liked the info on how to know if your child is being bullied. Every school needs to have a Speak Out Against Bullying parent presentation mandatory. I left this meeting a lot more informed.
As a member of the community Speak Out Against Bullying (SOAB) is an invaluable resource for our schools and the positive development and wellbeing of youth. Most importantly, SOAB provides the necessary tools to tackle the rising bullying our students endure in schools. Please continue to make these resources available and thank you for helping our students and youth learn about bullying!
Great organization! Really makes sure that every person is being taken cared of and follows through until the very end to make sure the person targeted is okay and will continue to be okay. communication is a must and this organization utilizes it to the extent.
This organization has brought so much awareness to bullying in today's hectic society. I feel that this organization brings the community into the discussion of a serious issue. It is important that children are heard when it comes to bullying, and this organization provides that voice. As long as this organization continues the discussion on bullying, children from all different ages will be heard. This is important work that is being done and I am grateful that this organization provides a voice for those kids that feel voiceless.
We were pleased to have Monica join us in speaking about bullying. She presented videos and brought LAPD.
I have had the honors to witness the amazing work being done by this organization. It has addressed issues of Bullying at our local schools and parks which are very prevident and need to be talked about. These assemblies are a perfect forum where conversations of bullying begin.
All the students in my class were amazed at how professionally well you presented yourself. They felt as though you informed them a lot about the topics of cyber bullying, and feel as though you covered it well. My teacher was very pleased by your presentation and thought you did an amazing job. I thought that it went so great, and the videos, PowerPoint, and your explaining, really helped me understand cyber bullying better. So thanks so so much my class and I are so grateful!!!
Speak Out Against Bullying is much needed in schools with the bullying epidemic. AS a grandfather it is important to teach children about the harmful impact of bullying. .......
Monica and the Speak Out Against Bullying team have truly saved lives. As an advocate in Los Angeles for Children with autism, Monica was our go-to anti-bullying support. I have seen first hand the children and families this program has touched. I think all children AND parents would benefit from this experience.
This wonderful organization puts on the best anti-bullying program out there. I've attended a few personally and the kids are engaged and truly learn from the event. Our communities and children are better because of Speak Out Against Bullying
After attending a parent presentation given by Speak Out Against Bullying I was so surprised at how I didn’t know and learned. The presentation covered a lot of info and showed parents what they could do to prevent bullying and what to do if their child is a victim or child who bullies. We’ve had presentations before but this was one of the best. I especially liked the fact that this was one of the most comprehensive presentations on bullying, cyber bullying, texting and so much more. I would highly recommend every school contact them now that kids are back.
Monica's "Speak Out Against Bullying" Nonprofit organization is an invaluable part of our community. With the rise in bullying at our schools, Monica's organization provides a solution to this issue. Her approach to addressing the needs of both the bullied child and the bully are effective and innovative. The school Assemblies she organizes in our area teaches all the children coping skills and allows their voice to be heard. The videos and other tools she has at her Assemblies illustrate her point of view to the students. THANKS MONICA for ALL YOU DO for our Kids.
Thank you for doing what you do! Keep up the great work!!
Monica Harmon is an exceptional individual. Her talks about the importance of respecting peers and taking a stand against bullying are inspirational, relative, and necessary. Monica has a way of connecting with parents and children and emphasizes the importance of communication. When you hear Monica speak, you can feel the compassion and dedication she has for this message. Speak Out Against Bullying is an organization that deserves to recognized for its service to our youth, schools, and communities. Thank you Monica Harmon for educating our communities!
Monica Harmon visited our school and really made an impact on our students. She was able to present two assemblies, one appropriate for younger students and one for our older students. As a school principal, I was so impressed that I asked her to speak to our school families. Again Mrs. Harmon's presentation and expertise really impacted our school parents. After the assemblies, I received many thanks both from parents and students for bringing Mrs. Harmon to our school. I recommend her services to any organization that needs to address the problem of bullying and cyber-bullying.
Monica came to our middle school to give an assembly to our 6th graders about bullying, and I was truly blown away!!! Our students were attentive (a difficult feat) and enthralled with the presentation. Monica was compassionate while delivering the material with the kind of intensity that it deserves. She brought with her a police officer to help hammer home the message, which was also very effective. She will be returning in a couple weeks to walk around at lunch, demonstrating how committed she truly is to the cause. I highly recommend "Speak Up", we will definitely be utilizing this nonprofit again.
Great presentation. Good videos. Good information for students to be aware of and to learn about.
Monica has conducted several anti-bullying assemblies for me. The assemblies are catered to the students age. Monica is able to capture the minds of the students and has always had a huge impact empowering those students that are being bullied. She has also conducted assemblies for parents to help them identify signs to determine if their child is being bullied or is the bully. Thank you for helping our students!
The presentation had amazing videos that held the students attention as they were watching. This is a great topic to discuss and address as it is prevalent in our schools.
I've done dozens of school meetings for bullying and cybersafety and was impressed at Monica's presentation. Great use of photos and videos in her power point kept the students engaged and focused. She was passionate in her delivery and impacted the students in a positive manner.

Excellent speaker - Monica engaged the kids and kept their interest the entire time. "Heads down, eyes closed, raise your hands if..." surveys revealed bullying is a bigger problem than most teachers/parents are aware of.
The Claremont LIbrary chooses one book a year as a community read. This years book , Wonder, is about a boy overcoming his bullies. The main character had been born with facial deformities that made him a target for abuse. Monica Harmon was kind enough to share her video and presentation with us on the topic of bullying. We, as a community, were impressed by her dynamism, energy and conviction. I would highly recommend Ms. Harmon as a speaker on this important topic.
In recognition of October as Bullying Prevention month, our organization invited Ms. Harmon speak to the parents of our community about bullying and cyberbullying. She was energetic and engaging. Her presentation was impactful, and her videos were powerful. She shared what actions the victim, the bully, the bystanders, and the adults may take to alter the situation for the better. She also offered practical suggestions on what parents can do to protect kids against cyberbullying. We hope to bring her back again for future events.
I was invited to attend an assembly yesterday morning for grades 4-8, and saw first hand, the shyness, the shame, and the cruelty, but also the change and desire to take a stand, overcome fear, and become empowered to ask questions and take action...all within a 90-minute span. To see kids who could barely put up their hand at the beginning to standing up in front of 150 of their peers to ask what they do to improve the situation was an incredible thing to witness, let alone receiving their applause for my initiative to run for them.
The experience took me back to memories of my own, and reminded me of the difference I can make to anyone who feels alienated and alone...we all can.
Speak Out Against Bullying gave a powerful and insightful presentation to the Qteen models and parents of my organization. It was eye opening to be informed of all the types of bullying and know how to deal with the issue. The girls were inspired to make a difference at their schools. Parents stated they learned so much about cyber bullying as well. Monica is an excellent leader and role model our girls are very inspired by her.
Ms. Monica gave an outstanding and inspiring anti-bullying presentation at our school. Our students really connected to her experiences with bullying. My students still talk about the speaking out strategies they learned from her presentation.
Ms. Moncia delivered a great presentation to our St. Raphael students. Her information on Bullying and Cyber Bullying was just the right amount for our grade level. She was friendly and gave our students a chance to ask questions and she even listened to the students who discuss other topic that were not in line with her presentation. Thank you for all your hard work. We all appreciate it! We hope that Ms. Moncia
would visit us during the school year to review how our students are dealing with this topic. Thank you very much.
Speak out against bullying an education to free children from fear, open doors to the playground, no longer hidding in the corners, and keeping quiet because of fear of bulling. This has been the education we never had, the trauma that our children lived in schools, and now as adults can still remember and tohow their lives where change and injured. For this I honor and thank director Monica Harmon for taking on this difficult and complex introdution and education not only for the youth but to us Parents and Grandparents.
IMy grandchildren have benefited so much just as identifying bulling, pin pointing the difficult some children have endure for years, and so many afraid to go to school and eventually drop out. Monica Harmon has taken this generation to a healthy minded children, bullying no more, understanding the hurt and distruction to other mentally injured and free the children into a happy welcoming world. Thank you Monica, I am so honored to know you and seen what wonderful gift you have inspired to all of us..
Monica's presentation empowered the students and helped make a difference at my school. She covered all aspects of bullying and cyber bullying issues. The police department also attended the event. It was a wonderful day!
The work that Monica Harmon does through her presentations is amazing and needed in this day and age of easy access technology and cyber-bullying. From working with 2nd graders to 6th graders at my school, her presentation and message was heard loud and clear. Students felt safe to open up and share their personal experiences. In the end, the student body was highly motivated to end bullying at our school and be proactive in their efforts! Thank you Monica!
Monica Harmon delivers and then some. Her presentation works on a variety of levels. She is not only talented but so passionate about the topic of anti-bullying. She involves the audience right from the get go, and hold their interest throughout. Monica is a fantastic speaker with a message and presentation that had a real impact.
Ms. Harmon is an amazing presenter! She presents her work very organized. Her presentation for my class at Pali High was so inspiring for the students, including myself, and my teacher. The presentation was full of additional information that I wasn't able to investigate for my project. I reached out to her because of an investigation I had to do about bullying, since the topic really interests me, and it was interesting to know the stories she shared with us, as well as the consequences of bullying. We hope to have another visit from her soon for the school since she is making a difference simply with these presentations. I recommend Ms. Harmon's presentations to wherever necessary because they are truly inspiring and encouraged me to speak up for others more often as well
Monica is an excellent presenter. She can speak to students, teachers, parents and professionals. I love how she can captivate an audience. She is truly a powerful and dynamic speaker. Last year, I LOVED her presentation at the iStand4Peace Youth Summit at USC. She did a wonderful job at the summit teaching youth about what to do when they are bullied and how not to be a bystander. Since then, I have seen her in many more schools, in the community and on television, advocating for school safely of all children in and around Los Angeles County and beyond. Speak Out Against Bullying ROCKS!!!
I reached out to Monica Harmon on behalf of a school that my non-profit counseling organization, Counseling Partners of Los Angeles, supports. Monica responded with a strong sense of urgency to our request to come out to speak with the middle school students. She presented to the students less than 2 weeks after our first contact...because she is truly committed to making a difference!
Her expertise and passion on the topic of bullying captivated and energized the students. She provided important information in an easy to understand delivery and used excellent video segments to keep the students engaged. Her ability to connect with the students was invaluable. In addition to the dialogue she had with students during the presentation, several students approached her afterwards. It was remarkable to listen to the conversations she had with them about their fears and experiences of bullying. She puts the issue right on the table so it can be addressed and students feel hopeful that things can change for them.
As the School Principal at Gulf Avenue Elementary School in Wilmington, CA, I was delighted to learn of the Bullying Assembly that Monica Harmon was offering through her non-profit Speak Out Against Bullying, Inc. My staff and students were informed but more importantly, were empowered to handle instances at Bullying at our school and throughout life. Thank you to Monica for a wonderful presentation. She made a difference.
