Mission: To raise funds that will enable the sparta education foundation to make ongoing contributions that enrich the educational experience of the children in the sparta public schools. To promote pride and positive awareness in the sparta public schools. Engage the entire community in philanthropic giving that strengthens our public schools and suppports our teachers and inspires our students.
Programs: The foundation provided funds for the purchase of 180 chromebook computers to be used by students in the english department at the sparta high school. The purchase will enable teachers to gafe to enhance the lessons and education of their students. An additional purchase of 10 hp chromebooks by the special education enlish department were purchased to aid students with moderate disabilities to help them reach individual goals, improve fine motor skills and benefit from the use of specialized apps. 624 chromebooks and 24 charging carts is part of the 1:1 world initiative which will connect each student in the high school's science, math and history classrooms to a computer. This portion of the grant is the first year of a three year grant.
the foundation provided funds for the expansion of the coral reef learning center. The funds enabled the high school biology department to purchase a 300 gallon shark and predator aquarium.
the foundation provided funds for the creation of resource level classrooms. The funds engable the english/language arts department to purchase kinesthetic classroom furniture consisting of eight activity desks, four fitpro balls with stability legs, four stand-up deks and six pedal desks.
the foundation provided various other grants to sparta public schools for the purchase of equipment to be used in classroom instruction from stem to the arts, physical eduction to special education such as twelve sphero robotics balls, nine document cameras, ten audit amplication systems, wonder workshop dash & robot classroom and google expedition kits.
