Spacelab is a great makerspace in the Chicago suburbs. Members are involved in a variety of projects such as power wheels, 3D printing, crafting, drones, and electronics. The space runs the local maker faire and hosts a variety of classes for adults and children. Spacelab supports members that are hobbyists as well as those creating businesses. Members provide STEM focused outreach for local libraries, schools, and companies. I've been a member for years and credit Spacelab events with sparking an interest in machines and electronics in my young children.
