Programs: Southwest Training Services, Inc. provides funding for training to individuals needing additional skills in order to obtain employment. SWTS, Inc. writes Individual Training Accounts for persons entering into classroom training. SWTS is not a provider of training, but does provide the case management, funding for tuition and support services while a person is enrolled. In order to receive WIOA funds, a training provider must be licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and also be found on the PA CareerLink Eligible Training Provider List. Other services, such as assessment, development of employability plans, case management, and job search assistance are also provided to eligible individuals by SWTS, Inc. staff. Another responsibility of SWTS is being the program operator for Youth funds under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). SWTS, Inc. provides career development and employment opportunities to eligible youth under the WIOA and TANF programs. Throughout the year, SWTS provides Tutoring; Summer Employment; Work Experience; Internships, Job Shadowing, Leadership Development; Occupational Skills; Community Service Learning Projects, Supportive Services; Adult Mentoring; Follow-up services; Guidance and Counseling and Case Management, Drug & Alcohol Awareness and Prevention services to eligible in-school youth in the school districts in Washington and Greene Counties as well as out of school youth. In addition, On-The-Job Training funds are offered to employers that have an interest in hiring a participant of SWTS, Inc. SWTS, Inc. will pay up to 50% of a participant’s starting salary for a period of up to 6 months. This amount and duration is contingent on the amount of training an employee would need with the prospective employer. Funds are also available to assist with Incumbent Worker Training.
