This is the organization that is responsible for the deplorable conditions and for caging children on the border all so that they can be paid around $700 a day per child by the government. Do not donate to this organization.

Southwest Key is responsible for deplorable conditions in Texas child internment centers. They run CASA Padre and other facilities that cage children and neglect their welfare!!! UNACCEPTABLE!

My foster daughter received the care of a highly skilled and creative crisis stabilizer from southwest key. She was promised from day one that the worker would not leave unless the teenager did not want her services any longer. The child has multiple mental health needs and can be quite uncooperative, however with this worker she had exhibited no violence and each week came home with thoughtful/positive creations (art, poems etc). This week we were stunned to learn the worker in consultation with her supervisor has decided to terminate the relationship. Without conversing with foster parent nor problem solving with the wraparound team, the child has simply been abandoned. No transfer of services was offered. The child and treatment foster worker and parent were in shock. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances.

As a resident and member of the Community Advisory Group for SWK, I'm proud to be part of the positive changes our community is experiencing. This organization has done it RIGHT from the beginning. They engaged our community from the time they became owners of the property. Southwest Key continues to develop a Family Center that the community has helped create. We knew they were serious about helping our community, when they agreed to locate their Corporate Offices into our neighborhood.
Thanks SWK

Southwest Key strives to connect partners from the community to provide comprehensive services to the children and families of the surrounding area. They have been professional, friendly, and accomadating to work with.

I have worked on many projects with this culturally competent organization. They really are invested in the community they are serving and they seek to change the lives of those people in the community. They are doing great things at Southwest Key and I had the oppotunity to intern there during my Masters program. One of my favorite projects was the spoken word and hip hop project. The goal of this project was to improve the relationship between at-risk youth and their family, and law enforcement. Improving this relationship is crucial for our young people and law enforcment to work together rather than be enemies. Southwest Key is making strides in this area.

Southwest Key is a growing and thriving institution in the Austin community. I've attended culturally rich and relevant events there, participated in educational workshops, and joined with others to use the space for production rehearsals. It is a versatile, dynamic place that fosters creativity, cooperation, and community. I know I'll be there again soon, and so will my friends and family!

Southwest Key is a dynamic national organization that isn't afraid to get creative and try new things. I had the privilege to be a graduate intern there in 2010 and get involved with everything from strategic planning to job coaching program design to creating anger management activities for middle schoolers in their charter school.

I love what they're doing with cultural arts and prevention in general. I've stayed on there in 2011 as a volunteer with one of my favorite pilot programs -- a hip hop and creative writing program that counts as community service hours for teens on probation. Amazing staff, good stuff, enough said!
