I placed a donation of several gift baskets and a stove several weeks ago as Christmas gifts for friends and family members. At the time I was told I had to call customer service to get the certificates and cards for the gift recipients of the donations I had placed for them. I have called repeatedly and no one has ever picked up, no one has ever returned my calls and now there is no proof that I ever placed these orders except for my credit card bill. Very unhappy with this extremely unprofessional, rude, and possibly fraudulent company. I did place an order at the same time for items in the catalog and I received everything in a timely manner. It seems the donation department is completely separate from the catalog items. The catalog merchandise seems to be legit. The donation department not so much.

I have been purchasing items from SWIF for years. This year, I ordered two items for VERY special Christmas gifts (one for my Mother who is sick with cancer, the other for my elderly Uncle). First, the representative taking my order was rude and did not seem to recognize the item numbers I gave her. I proceeded, slowly and carefully, with my orders anyway. I was given order/confirmation numbers. Several weeks went by and the gifts have not arrived to their destinations. I have repeatedly called Southwest Indian Foundation customer service. No one picks up. Detailed messages were left including my return phone number. No one has returned my phone calls. Feeling very let down! Not only have I lost my hard earned money, but my family members will receive no gift for Christmas. I used to rely on SWIF to fulfill my special gift needs. NEVER AGAIN! I DO NOT RECOMMEND SOUTHWEST INDIAN FOUNDATION. What used to be a wonderful organization to work with has become horrible. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID.

I have played an integral part with the SWIF. I am in constant contact with their CEO, Bill McCarthy. We have worked together on long-range projects to aid the SWIF especially in regards to the hungry, the cold, the thirsty, the shut-ins. Providing. new housing, stoves, sleeping bags, holiday food packages. I have gotten involved as well with "Dig Deep" which provides "clean drinking water" creating and providing the wells, piping, sinks, etc. providing many of the Navajo Nation families located in Gallup, NM with "clean water." I have donated much money without ordering many items from their wonderful catalogs. It is my strong opinion, the SWIF is a worthy of my many donations and items I gave personally sent to them. I placed an order with the foundation on Oct 5. On that day, they confirmed the order and charged my credit card. And..that’s the last I heard from them. Here it is Dec 14th and still nothing. I have called customer service, left voice messages and emails. Still nothing. I finally called the order desk and they were of no help, just willing to take an order. Stay away from this group. I gave it one star as that the lowest rating that this allowed. I would give this a Minus 10

Just want to let you know that we thought we ordered the wrong size robe. Everything in our timely order was complete. Yes, it did seem we got the run around Friday afternoon/evening being transferred to a full mailbox like the rest. Then I got nervous after reading the reviews!! Did not want to return the robe for an exchange. However, a very kind and authentic native gal returned our phone calling by 9 am our time Saturday am. She said we had ordered the wrong size, (which I believed her)! She explained to me that she listened to all 60+ phone messages and took notes by hand, and that they had a lot of new interns as well. Well, we have 2 lg/xlg beautiful cozy robes. I am glad I tried on the one I was going to return for a sm/med, because size wise the Chimayo turquoise robe in lg/xlg is a lil' bit smaller than my husband's bear/deer print lg/xlg robe. Just a heads up that the sizing may be different. G'd bless these dear people trying to do things the ole' fashion way. I wish I hadn't gotten so worried about being scammed and threatened to turn em' into the Better Biz bureau on 1 of our 3-4 messages last Friday night. We love our "over~priced" stuff! Yes, it is expensive, but it is different, and "it's like a treasure" as another reviewer said. Thanks a lot to the fine 1st Nation lady who kindly called me back!!!!

This organization has helped Native Americans to build themselves a better life. They have helped them to build houses, supply schools with new stoves, and to help market the clothing, art, jewelry, food, etc. which they make. Helping this foundation truly does help these people to look forward to a better future.
