Causes: Community Foundations, Philanthropy
Mission: The Southwest Florida Community Foundation was founded in 1976 to serve as a local source of philanthropic funds for charitable purposes in 5 counties in Southwest Florida. By prudently investing funds, we produce an annual income to be used for the common good, through grants to 501(c)(3)charities in our region. We also identify pressing community needs and respond with appropriate intiatives and financial support.

Programs:
The Foundation provides funding to 501(c)(3)non-profits serving Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, and Glades Counties, Florida through its endowment funds. We distribute grants to increase the effectiveness of social service, educational, health, cultural, and other charitable organizations serving the community. The Foundation injects millions of dollars into the five-county region, determining the most efficient use of funds, encouraging nonprofits to parner for success and serving as a vigilant steward of donors' money.
