I am a financial contributor to the Santa Rosa Community Health Center (SRCHS) (formerly Southwest Community Health Center). I believe that access to quality healthcare is a basic human right ... SRCHC delivers outstanding care to the uninsured and underinsured in our community. I've talked with patients and walked the clinic halls ... each patient is treated with respect and dignity, while receiving excellent care. The local hospital runs its physician's "residency" program at SRCHC as well, which brings in the latest and greatest in medical thinking and treatment. But also from a business pespective (since I am a retired Financial Controller with Hewlett Packard) I believe that SRCHC is critical to our community. We all know that receiving care via the emergency rooms is expensive and a poor use of those resources ... yet the uninsured have no option without clinics like SRCHC. So from a pure dollars and cents view, it helps keep healthcare costs down for all of us when we have outstanding clinics like SRCHC taking care of those without health insurance. It is also run with great attention to keeping admin costs low and delivering the best service at the lowest cost. Thank heavens for SRCHC!
