Mission: Founded in 1985 by I.T. Bookman, a member of the neighboring Pilgrim Community Church, and largely supported by the Church and it's members, the I.T. Bookman Community Center was built on the foundation of a communal need for multipurpose space within the community, with the purpose of embracing the needs of the surrounding Oceanview, Merced Heights, and Ingleside neighborhoods and serving it's residence better. Today, known for its partnerships with the Stonestown YMCA and Department of Aging and Adult Services, the staff at I.T. Bookman Community Center continue to work to develop and manage quality activities and programs targeted to all age groups in the surrounding communities, creating an atmosphere within the Center that encourages positive growth through the use of the facility for civic and private activities and events.

Programs: Coa program provided services to over 70 seniors that include different activities ie dancing field trips tai chi bingo games computer instruc and health wellness
