Love all of their parks and nature areas! Great way to get out and enjoy nature. So glad we have this organization here to provide this to our local communities.

I grew up in Fayette County, and the Southern Conservation Trust has been an incredible organization to have in our community. It’s always nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax at one of their many public nature areas in the community. I even spotted my first heron at Sams Lake! Keep up the good work!

As a new resident who loves to hike, learn about native plants and animals and make a difference in my community, I was happy to discover that Southern Conservation Trust was the organization behind several beautiful nature preserves and trails in my area. It was easy to find a volunteer opportunity that I was interested in and to sign up using an on line platform. I was warmly welcomed by staff members. On my first day as I volunteer, I learned what those round green balls were that I kept tripping on during my hikes (spoiler alert: walnuts). I had fun gathering walnuts, knowing they would be used in the future for a children's educational program. I look forward to continuing to volunteer at the Southern Conservation Trust.
