I have been involved with the people of southern ca Bull dog rescue for about a year and a half. I can’t explain what caring compassionate people make up this organization to give these bulldogs love and forever homes. I love them all.
Southern California Bulldog Rescue has been a reward for us! My husband and I came across this organization looking for a dog to rescue and popped up was Southern California Bulldog Rescue. We immediately honed in on an English Bulldog that was currently in foster care with someone from the OC area of California. His name was Quincy! Quincy was describe on the profile as possible abuse and used as a bait dog and at that time Quincy was considered a Spina BIfida baby. His walking capability was scorned from the incidents he had gone thru in his past life and being found wandering the streets of OC, he was in diapers full time.
My husband and I looked at each other and didn't give it a second thought. We immediately called Southern California Bulldog Rescue and at this point they put us in touch with the family that was fostering Quincy at the time, and we set a date for a meet and greet.
This was mine and my husbands opportunity to give this English Bulldog a chance at what it would be like to have a loving and spoiled forever home, at that's exactly what we did! The couple that fostered Quincy brought him down to San Diego and within minutes of Quincy walking thru our front door we knew that Quincy was the son (Furbaby) we never had! We were so excited to start our little family and we signed the papers allowing us to take possession of Quincy so he could start a beautiful life with us. My husband and I officially adopted Quincy the end of 2010!
Quincy lived the life of riley! He got to do things and go places he never thought was possible! Quincy showed us what love really meant, while learning from Quincy we were able to continue to assist Southern California Bulldog Rescue with various donations and events. We continued to stay in touch with Southern California Bulldog Rescue on Quincy's progress and Quincy turned out to be the most beautiful boy that a family could ask for!
Quincy passed away on January 18, 2019..Quincy will forever be our "Angel".
In 2021 we lost our beloved English Bulldog Ginger at age 13. My daughter and I were devastated. As time passed, we reached out to SoCal English Bulldog rescue to donate some dog food and a basket of Ginger’s favorite treats and toys. After meeting with Skip and some of the rescue pups, we decided we would like try fostering. One year later, we are still fostering. This is an amazing group of volunteers. We have seen unbelievable transitions in the lives of so many bulldogs in such a small amount of time. Our hearts have never felt fuller. Thank-you SoCal English Bulldog rescue for all you do!
I’ve been supporting this amazing rescue for a number of years and can’t emphasize enough the amount of hard work, love, empathy and sensitivity the volunteers and friends of Southern California Bulldog Rescue have for helping to give unwanted and neglected Bulldogs of all ages another chance at finding love and their forever homes. From rescuing bulldogs from local shelters to families no longer wanting them Southern California Bulldog Rescue is there to provide these sweet bulldogs with medical care and love so desperately needed by the time they are rescued. Without this rescue these precious bulldogs wouldn’t have a chance to live their best life. I invite you you to visit their website and see these sweet bulldogs and read their stories and to consider helping Southern California Bulldog Rescue.
SCBR rescued our Rudy who was abandoned as a puppy in Burbank. We fostered him until his surgical appointment for cherry eye. SCBR made all the arrangements and handled all the logistics. Rudy is a happy dog and we’re glad to have him. SCBR has many success stories of taking in unwanted, abandoned or just “dogs in need of a new home “ and finding loving homes for them
No group of people work harder to save, rehabilitate and rehome discarded discarded animals than the volunteers at Southern California Bulldog Rescue.
They are not daunted by difficult medical situations and always rally to help a Bulldog in need. I have had the opportunity to adopt from them over the years and the community they build with their alumni dogs and adoptive families benefits all the adopters and dogs. The support they offer is unparalleled.
I have worked with multiple rescues over the years as a foster and transporter, and have adopted rescues many times. We adopted our senior English Bulldog Lila from SCBR a year ago. I can say in all honesty, SCBR is the best rescue I heave ever worked with! Their tireless dedication to saving these dogs is awe inspiring. They don’t turn away any dog, regardless of age, medical needs, or behavior issues. English Bulldogs are often in the shelters because of serious medical issues, and it’s heartbreaking to see them. SCBR spends thousands of dollars to make these dogs healthy and adoptable, No dog is left in a shelter because of age or infirmity. Their Shady Paws program provides long term foster care of dogs in their final stages of life. They have provided medical care for dogs so their owners don’t have to surrender their beloved pets due to financial need. I volunteer as a transporter for them because I am so impressed by their level of care and dedication. Our Lila brightens our lives and I’m so grateful that SCBR gave her the medical care she needed and entrusted her to us.
We had recently lost our 11yo English Bulldog and were looking to get another one to add to our family. We wanted "Adopt and not Shop" for our new furry family member and started looking into Southern California Bulldog Rescue. We made contact, went through the interview process, traveled a few times to meet the available dogs and were rewarded when Holly picked us to be her new furever parents. Southern California Bulldog Rescue exists to give English Bulldogs a second chance (or more if needed) at a loving home and great life. Everyone from the Director to all of the volunteers involved is very supportive and have been there for us no matter how big or small our questions have been. Holly has been with us now for 6 months and we could not be happier. SCBR works tirelessly to match the right dog to the right family/person. We feel they are now an extension of our family. We will do whatever we can to help support this amazing organization.

I am in the process of adopting a bully. They are very thorough as to what homes they go too. They take very good care of their rescuse. Being a former bully rescue mom I feel they are doing all they can for the breed and need all the help they can get. So please consider them.
I have been following and supporting this rescue for years. They do everything for every Bulldog, and "No Bulldog Left Behind" is both their mantra and their mission statement -- every single day.
This rescue answers every call, most from the worst high-kill shelters in SoCal. They understand the Bulldog and know the medical and emotional needs of the breed.
They care and they will do ANYTHING to help any Bulldog dumped and in distress, and on the death lists at so many shelters.
I was really ready to adopt a dog but had a frustrating experience with a rescue that was poor at communication. A friend suggested I try Southern California Bulldog Rescue, and I had the best experience. Their adoption process was crystal clear, there was great communication throughout, and the even suggested my beautiful bully to me because the volunteers remembered I bake and told me they had a "chocolate chip" bulldog. My Ellie changed my life, and as questions have come up for me as a bully owner, they have been wonderful and continue to support our little family. I will always adopt from them.
I have been following SCBR for several years. The work they do is fabulous. So many selfless people working together to protect all the bulldogs. I adopted a beautiful English Bulldog on 6-28-20 , Beth (Bella). I have never dealt with any Rescue that had such a tremendous support system. Skip is outstanding in his selfless mission to help the bullies.
We have had English Bulldogs in our life for 25 years. We have adopted our last 5 from SCBR. They work tirelessly to rescue Bullies from shelters and get them into SCBR. Once there, they assess a dog's needs and pay for needed surgeries and medical treatments, regardless of cost, to heal the dogs before adoption. They are all volunteers that work tirelessly to pick up dogs from shelters and people's homes or wherever and do home checks on potential adoptive families. They have many volunteers that foster dogs and help dogs with behavior problems to be ready for forever homes. They make sure a dog and family are compatible to ensure happiness and success for all. They are there with advice to help you when needed. Skip, the head of SCBR, and his volunteers spend hours doing fund raisers at least every month. They hold meet and greet adoption events every 2 weeks. There are many dogs that have to be boarded because there just aren't enough foster homes for all of them. I can't say enough good things about SCBR. As our dogs pass on from this life, we call or email the next day and they are so kind to help us fill that void of losing a dog. Thank you SCBR for the incredible, compassionate work you do to save these sweet dogs and get them into a forever home.
Southern California Bulldog Rescue (SCBR) has been both a saviour of uncountable bulldogs (from shelters and owner surrender) and a resource for bulldog owners. They have a good process in place for potential adopters and give their all for even the hardest medical cases. Their online presence has consistently been improved, which is especially important during the pandemic. Thank you SCBR for the hard work you do!
Where do I start! SCBR has changed my life. We lost our first bulldog in March 2018 and my husband and I were ruined. We didn't think we were ready to bring another dog into our life but we began fostering Lulu, a senior, super stubborn bulldog that we quickly fell in love with and foster failed (adopted)! She helped us get out of the depression and dark place we were in and inspired us to help those bulldogs who need all of our efforts on a daily basis. My husband and I have been proudly volunteering and helping coordinate events, shelter pulls, and transporting for the San Diego chapter! We are so passionate about SCBR and we thank SCBR for the world that they welcomed us in.
They are very helpful and one of the few rescues that continue to listen, educate, and answer questions years after adoption. An all volunteer rescue that works hard to help every bulldog in need.
I have volunteered with this group for 5 years. Their love for bulldogs is pure. Working with rescue is very hard and challenging and also rewarding. The group that runs this will do any thing to ensure that no bulldog is left behind. I also have adopted three bulldogs in 5 years since I have been volunteering. This is why this rescue is so important to me.
I volunteer and adopted our dog from SCBR. It's an amazing rescue that works hard to help all bulldogs. They help old, young, sick. I feel proud to help and be apart of the group. Our boy Nacho is the sweetest most loving boy. SCBR fixed up all his issues before we adopted him and made it an easy transition.
