Our sweet Olde English Bulldog, Solomon, was taken from our yard (he and our other two dogs were out to do their business and play a little before coming back in for the night) a month ago, & despite ALL of our searching, we have JUST found him in the possession of South Texas Boston Terrier Rescue. Two days ago we contacted them to notify them that he was our baby and asked what was needed so we could bring him home. They finally responded, after receiving an onslaught of comments, FB messages, and emails from our entire family and extended family, telling us that they would call me the next day. They told us that Solomon still had on his harness with his id tag and current rabies tag, yet they posted him on their FB page, website ( www.STBTR.org ) adopt-a-pet AND petfinder under a DIFFERENT NAME! We offered to pay vet care, and thanked them profusely for caring for him when we weren’t there to do it. We provided them with the bill of sale from the day we brought him home at 10 weeks old & both of his registration certificates, clearly establishing ownership. We volunteered a photo of our pet deposit receipt and lease showing that we are allowed to have him. A reputable board member with English Bulldog Rescue Network Houston even spoke with a representative of the Property Management group that manages our rental on our behalf to verify everything we had provided South Texas Boston Terrier Rescue AND contacted the rescue on our behalf to let them know all of that information had been verified. We were told by the rescue early in our communications NOT to contact board members directly, yet they are now trying to use the fact that we have honored their request against us, saying that we haven’t called or texted them so we must not really love Solomon. We have filed an incident report with our local Sheriff’s Dept. We love and miss our Solomon and just want him HOME where he belongs! We don’t want to file theft charges against South Texas Boston Terrier Rescue, but we will if we can’t settle this civilly. EBRN Houston has even offered to come do a home visit to verify that we have a secure yard and loving home. There is going to be written/signed agreement stating that Solomon is going to be neutered AND that appointment has already been made with a trusted veterinarian. WHAT MORE do they need? We want proof that Solomon is still alive, a photo with a newspaper or cell phone screen showing today’s date! We want to know our baby is okay!! We want him HOME for Christmas! We have had him since he was a pup, 5 years. He is part of our family! We have screen shots of their original posts about our Solomon. We have screen shots of all written communication between us and the rescue. We even have screen shots of comments that were made by individuals trying to help that were immediately deleted!
LATEST UPDATE: South Texas Boston Terrier Rescue (www.stbtr.org) has hired an attorney to handle all communication between us and them; having told the attorney that they have attempted communication and received nothing from us, which is a LIE!! They have also AGAIN attempted to change their demands, despite us having them in writing. Where they told us in writing, and another rescue group, that we must have an appointment scheduled for Solomon’s neutering, they told their attorney that THEY demand to have to him neutered at their vet before they will let him come home. We put our foot down and told the attorney in no uncertain terms that per THEIR demands Solomon has an appointment with a trusted veterinarian to be neutered next week, and THAT is what is going to happen AFTER he is back in our care! We have gone over and beyond every demand they have given! Each time being met with some additional demand to further delay our baby coming home! THEY WON’T EVEN SEND US A PHOTO OF OUR BOY WITH SOMETHING (that can’t be altered) SHOWING TODAY’S DATE SO WE CAN KNOW THAT HE IS SAFE!! English Bulldog Rescue Network Houston is even contacting STBTR to see if they would be open to a rescue to rescue transfer. We just want our baby home! We don’t want this to become an even bigger nightmare.
ADDITIONAL UPDATE: STBTR HAS TAKEN DOWN THEIR FB PAGE as a result of the inundation of support we have received, from friends and strangers alike. #bringSolomonhome

To bad I have to give them 1 star. They have a bulldog that belongs to someone else and they won’t return it. Let Solomon go home it isn’t your dog to keep. What a crappy rescue this is

This Rescue has stolen a Old English Bulldog and will not return to the rightful owners. This Rescue has no morals what so ever and need to be shut down. The Owners have done everything in their power to get their dog back. The owners have proven it was their dog many times over.

Could this "rescue" get dogs, know who the owners are and refuse to return the dog, or refuse to return the owners dog if cer
tain conditions are not met? Being neutering or anything the owner may or may want to have done and furthermore IF this is true who is the rescue to say what an owner can or cannot do with their dog. I have never, ever heard of a rescue doing something like this, is it possible? Evidence seems to be building that it well could be true. Time will tell as an owner may still be waiting for their dog.

This rescue has STOLEN a dog from a family who very much loves him, after searching for over a month the family finally found Solomon and just wants their baby back, but this rescue is not cooperating! They stole him from this family! That’s not right! What kind of a rescue takes a dog from a family yard?!? This is not rescuing, it’s theft!!! #BringSolomonHome!
